"There are those who wear bibs when they eat, but generally speaking they are not persons of influence"...😆😆 this line has killed me ever since I learned how to speak, and now that I am older I laugh even harder since I know what they mean 😅
It's looks good I love it so much it's looks wonderful would of Walt Disney company class starts at VIP tickets tour guide Legends of view of the TV show on Disney plus movie maze and the kids were all really happy about it take
This movie was so wonderful when I was a child and it's still so very entertaining. These 2 actresses were superb in this scene! Snobbery disney style!
I never understood what they were talking about when I was a kid but I knew they were throwing around all kinds of shade. the Aunt wins all day though because she's got the whole cut-you-to-shreds-with-a-look thing down
The woman in purple was Gladys Cooper. She was a stage actress in the early in the twentieth century and was a renowned beauty when young. Many would recognize her as Red Harris son's mother in the film of MFL.
Just watched the whole thing today. At many times I said, "He's THE BEST Butler ever!! " Or the funnest. This is one of his best scenes in it! He's just trying to alleviate the tension as best a good Butler can!
Just saw the touring company of Finding Neverland. John Davidson was in the cast. I messaged to him that I remember him from this film and was smitten. How fun to see someone from this era still kicking it. Now, I want to see more of Leslie Ann Warren!
On one separate note, does anyone see a music video being made with this song to describe how Cersei Lannister and Lady Olenna Tyrell see one another, with Varys trying to keep peace the whole time? Just an idea from a part-time GoT fan...
Poor Tommy Steele 😂 Actually, this is the movie where we first saw Tommy Steele. I was only 5 and don't remember but mom on the other hand was so taken up with him that she talked about him everytime I listened to a record of various Disney songs that I had. The record had been ruined so so the only song that was playable was one from this movie 🤣 We made sure we got this movie years later though when it came out on the Disney Channel in it's entirety.
the song from t his movie and i cannot find it is ... STRENGTHEN THE DWELLING. it only lasts a few minutes and is sung by fred mc murray. but the mike samme singers recorded a longer version of it and it is nicer. but i still cannot find it!!

In the new, fascinating book ROADSHOW!, author Matthew Kennedy writes the mostly red ink history of all of those big budget, mega-musicals that attempted to duplicate the success of SOUND OF MUSIC. Of these, Disney's THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE has the sole distinction of being the runt of the litter: it was supposed to top the studio's own MARY POPPINS - and fell so short of the mark that the studio will only put its name on the dvd in ultra-small letters. Still, pros Geraldine Page and Gladys Cooper offered a few moments of mirth in this Coward-like bitch exchange song, improbably written by the Sherman Brothers in a RARE departure from writing for the Gerber set. Enjoy this moment - but AVOID the overall film.
I totally disagree with you. I own The Walt Disney Restored Roadshow Edition. I love the movie and song. And as the title of the movie suggests (The Happiest Millionaire), one can be truly happy and wealthy. I highly recommend owning a copy on DVD.
It is an adorable movie! Loads better than what comes out today at any rate. Music was amazing and catchy. And while the plot wasn’t 100% there it was fun and enjoyable.
It must have seemed quite obvious to the various talented and esteemed actors that this overly stylized and pretentious production would flop as much as it did . just tired. Just faded just dull.
Disney lost its way after Walt died. This and “Family Band” are both overblown, puffed up, cookie cutter, soulless bores. Even Bedknobs and Broomsticks is a snoozefest.
this was a horrible movie. far too many song and dance numbers. fred MacMurray acting as a latent homosexual lusting after young rough men who he trains in his personal gym.it has more of a class war theme but they just didn't get it right. miscast a guy from the donna reed show , strange cartoonish sets. just a mess. but Geraldine page briefly sets what could have ben a better film, it might still be available on tcm on demand ask your fiends to record it

I love the Happiest Millioaire
Such a fantastic song in an excellent movie. I love this so much!! Thank you for sharing it !!
Tony Steele, demonstrating the position of Irish relations between both Americans and the English: trying to just survive the madness of both. lol
I never understood what they were talking about when I was a kid but I knew they were throwing around all kinds of shade. the Aunt wins all day though because she's got the whole cut-you-to-shreds-with-a-look thing down
1:52 I love how the butler reacts to the ladies bantering. 2:21 Especially that poison dart bit

This is my favorite movie of all time!
I have watched this so many times
I love this song
Aunt Mary had the best zingers, lol.
Ah, a way to fight each other without actual fighting or cursing. I miss passive aggression. It was so much more peaceful.
On one separate note, does anyone see a music video being made with this song to describe how Cersei Lannister and Lady Olenna Tyrell see one another, with Varys trying to keep peace the whole time? Just an idea from a part-time GoT fan...
I just loved Tommy Steele. One of Britain’s stars that followed the path The Beatles opened for them.

Please more clips from the Happiest Millionaire!
I can see Eddie Redmayne, Shirley McClane, and Maggie Smith singing this...
Oh my gosh yes!!!!!
When I first watched this and these two came on the scene at the same time, I was like "Uh oh, crap's about to go down and I'm so ready to watch" haha
Christ where are today's Geraldine Page's and Gladys Coopers?!?!?!?
John Hintergardt Sadly, dead or nonexistent.

It's awesome & you're just an asshole.
Don't think it's the movie that horrible.................
Just like all male sports which are latently homosexual in nature.
