    I love Cal. He's easily my favorite original Star Wars character since Disney's takeover. Love his design, his philosophy (the theme of hope of fighting for a better tomorrow) and his versatility as a warrior.

    I'd say the prequels had no point about the Jedi being evil, but rather just conceited, arrogant and lost the reason behind the rules rather than just being evil. Evil is not defined by those criteria, even arrogance. Instead of being weary of anger, hate and other similar emotions, they just outright outlawed them. That might be the natural outcome of what is necessary to fight the dark side, but instead of fighting the dark side they are just ticking off the checkboxes that others did.

      @HellDuke- 13 годин тому

      @@raininglogic not quite an apt comparison. A corporation is has the goal of making profit. Just because their product or service is good for the consumer doesn't mean their goal was ever to provide something good to the consumer, just that it was the most profitable way. So what happens when that is no longer the most profitable? Well you continue after your goal and shift your approach.
      The Jedi had the opposite problem. They maintained their goal (ideal) and their methods. However, they did not properly realize why they were worked or were necessary. So when there is a new challenge that throws their understanding out the window, they can't adapt. If anything it's a better comparison to modern society where we know that to be tolerant is good, however it got taken to such an extreme that we just know to be tolerant, but not where to draw the line.

    Your analysis is always on point. Came to the same conclusions. The system the Jedi created I don't think it was evil, but rather it was unwilling to change and was too dogmatic. Their arrogance in the perfection of their system and structure was their destruction. Had they been open to adaptation and less adherent to Dogma, the order may have survived. Qui-Gon tried to show the way. Not even Yoda listened until he had to confront a bitter Luke and burn down the old.

    Recently started attempting to run some RP campaigns on Star Wars the Old Republic. One thing I wasn't prepared for and that's really putting me off of the fandom lately is the number of people who only want to view the Jedi as these righteous Pseduo Christian for whom might makes right and who actively insist that you must uphold the deliberately problematic and flawed aspects of the Jedi in the Clone Wars as being infallibly correct. While I tend to design my campaigns so players get a ton of freedom, I tend to also design them with moral questions where the most ethical choices generally aim for somewhere in the buddhist or taoist views of the force, but people will sit there and argue with me out of character that they should be able to commit war crimes or straight up genocide in the name of the republic and that I'm bad for making them look like bad people for doing it.

    Ego is what prevents people from being to brain washed. Doing their best becoming their best just to be their best. Problem is people confuse ego with Narcism. Believes your better then everyone because you just are . And deserve everything on shifting standards

    • @amberanime
      @amberanime 15 годин тому +4

      No thats not what ego is or does. You can 100% want to improve and be better without ego. You are right however that ego is not the same thing as narcism. Everyone has ego, not everyone is a narc. A narc does however have a very strong ego. Ego is NOT you. Your ego is a part of you, but it is not you. Therefore it is NOT needed to have a desire to improve or grow. Ego can make you want to improve. But usualy when you do that because of ego your doing it for the wrong reasons. Any action you commit while being informed by your ego is an action of seeking validation. You want people to worship you, see you, applaud you, tell you your right/smart/strong/amazing/beautifull. Not an action of actual growth. If you can improve because of simply wanting to be better at something , regardles of validation for it, your doing it without ego.
      Ego does not prevent people from being brain washed. In fact people with strong ego's are the easiest to brainwash amongs all people alive because they are the easiest to manipulate. The more strong your ego is the easier it is to stroke it and manipulate you one way, or to make the ego feel insulted/hurt and manipulate it the other way. People without/weak ego (and those with strong ego's who have grown aware of them and learned how to not let their ego's run the place) are the hardest to brainwash because their sense of self doesnt depend on validation or an outside source. Ego does. And anything and anyone that depends on an outside source for validation or their sense of self is a vurnale target for brainwashing. Its why people with strong ego have strong reactions when they get insulted, or judged or scolded or questioned. People with strong ego take things more personal more quickly. People with strong ego are more likely to view themselves as the victem and be less likely to self reflect on their own actions. And these are narc traits, but normal people are not JUST their ego. They have a lot more going for them. Narcs are those who are ruled by their ego the most. Ego at its worst.
      Lack of ego does not equal lack of sense of self. It also doesnt equal not having a spine or strong believes. And Lack of ego does not equal lack of motivation or lack of drive.
      Ego doesnt provide these things by default. It CAN but for the wrong reasons. Ego needs validation. And seeking validation from an outside source is one of the best ways to ruin your life and mental health.

    • @smartass0124
      @smartass0124 14 годин тому

      @amberanime ego doesn't need external sourcs validation .unless you consider reality validation. Even then ego is a modal of ideal self . People who who talk about ego as a bad have want you to have slave mentality.
      The desire to be better without ego is based deep internal shame give by other people to make you feel you'l never be good enough ego is persuit of pride . And its institutions slave morality creates narcissism being told your Devinely superior .

    3:19 Regarding a cap at 10,000 total Force-sensitives at one time:
    I don't buy that. It is more likely that the limited number of Jedi seekers to detect and acquire these Force-sensitives kept the number low, but also - not all with Force-sensitivity were suitable candidates to be taken by the Jedi. And then you've gotta raise and train these little munchkins, some ending up fodder for the Jedi Service Corps because they under-performed. Don't forget dangerous missions and space accidents that caused numbers in The Order to dwindle (eg. quickly lost like 8 Jedi in The Acolyte).
    The Jedi and The Sith are but two Force traditions in the Galaxy (based on the Je'daii), there are many more - from the Aleen, to the Dathomirian Nightsisters, and beyond - most species had some connection to The Force and had developed their own interactions and understandings of The Force.
    In the episode mentioned with Cad Bane stealing the Holocron, that's like keeping cash under your mattress. Get those Force-sensitives and start investing in them, don't keep them on a shelf. Trillions upon trillions of sentients in the Galaxy, a 10,000 limit when The Force flows through everyone, is just silly. There's thousands of Force traditions, usually baked into a culture.

    The Light Side and The Dark Side, may be more about the approach, the emotions, the intent. It's like peeing in a pool, you'll have a localized "yellow zone". The Force doesn't become Dark or Light, it is that localized connection which surrounds an individual that becomes Dark or Light. Not the tool, but how one uses it.
    They look for vergences because they are places with strong connections to The Force, they are like a wholly yellow pool because of the previous users' concentration, or as an outlet to clear The Force of impurities.

I am convinced by your case, however, that this Jude Law character is more of a Pirate Roberts or Aragorn than a true pirate or Sith. So, maybe like Roberts, he took on the name Crimson Jack and some of this impersonation convinced Owl Lady to call in the X-Wings on him. So, enough of a scoundrel to act like a pirate? So, he has some blood on his hands but won't mistreat minors? What kind of person does that? Someone screwed over or betrayed while he was a minor? Someone robbed by Order 66? I could see a Padawan falling in with pirates, sure. What a rotten twist for him. Having an out via a ship full of kids is quite a good turn for him. Maybe he can work out his misdeeds and honor with gratitude them coming along?

    You’re incorrect Alan. There are 100,000 Jedi Force Users not 10,000. Force Users/Sensitives aren’t some rare breed of life.
    “It starts out a few years after Return of the Jedi and we establish pretty quickly that there’s this underworld, there are these offshoot stormtroopers who started their own planets, and that Luke is trying to restart the Jedi. He puts the word out, so out of 100,000 Jedi, maybe 50 or 100 are left. The Jedi have to grow again from scratch, so Luke has to find two- and three-year-olds, and train them. It’ll be 20 years before you have a new generation of Jedi. By the end of the trilogy Luke would have rebuilt much of the Jedi, and we would have the renewal of the New Republic, with Leia, Senator Organa, becoming the Supreme Chancellor in charge of everything.” - GL
    & in terms of Force Sensitives , everyone can use The Force. Force Sensitives/Users aren’t like The X-Men, or Mutants. Using The Force isn’t just this unique power only a certain amount of people have.
    Kasdan: The Force was available to anyone who could hook into it?
    Lacas: Yes, everybody can do it.
    kasdan: Not just the Jedi?
    Lucas: lt's just the Jedi who take the time to do it.
    Marquand: They use it as a technique.
    Lucas: Like yoga. If you want to take the time to do it, you can do it; but the ones that really
    want to do it are the ones who are into that kind of thing Also like karate. Also another misconception is that Yoda teaches Jedi, but he is like a guru; he doesn't go out and fight anybody.”-GL
    “If we have enough midi-chlorians ln our body, We have a certain amount of control over our Personal Force and learn how to use it, like the Buddhist practice of being able to walk on hot coals. Some people can't because they just don't have as
    many midi-chlorians-that's just genetics. So the more midi-
    chlorians we have, the more accessibility we have to the Force.
    So we have to be trained how to use it. For example, we can be good at math and on the piano but to become a physicist or concert pianist, you have to be trained. You have to be trained to use the Force, to use the genes that give you a talent that is different from everybody else.”-GL
    Through The Empire Strikes Back, Luke is learning to be a Jedi, but it's not something that you just pick in 10 minutes. The whole idea is it's very hard to learn to be a Jedi. A lot of people get confused about the Force. They see it as some special thing that you can find and pick up and put it on your head and suddenly you have the
    Force. Whereas it's always been designed so that every [livingl being has the Force. The amnount of Force, which is like talent or intelligence, is different in every person. Somne of it is inherited, but it's no more than a talent. It's not Something you can acquire - it's something you can
    learn to use. I have the power to lift that cup off the table using the Force, but I can't do it unless I have been trained to do it.- George Lucas on "The Force"
    George Lucas makes it clear that while everyone can use the force those with more midiclorians in their bodies have more force potential making the force more accessible to them, so force sensitives that The Jedi Collect are those with more force potential (midiclorians) then any other life form so it should be called high force sensitives instead of just force sensitives but training your force ability is what ultimately matters since regardless of the inherited talent (force potential/midiclorians) in every living being, without training they can’t grow, and training is required to master the force. This means the only entities in Star Wars that can’t use the force are droids.

    What exactly is the age spread here? Considering your own estimation of this new character's age, maybe he is Cal. There have been vague hints over the last couple of years that we will soon get Cal in live action. Maybe this is it. Also, Filoni and Favreau have stated that this era of shows (or at least The Mandalorian) will run essentially "real time" so by the end of Ahsoka we "should" be at 12 or 13 ABY. If this show is concurrent to the beginning of Mando, then that doesn't matter, but if they end up interacting with any of those characters in a way that fixes it in the timeline, then we'll know.

    THE JEDI ARE THE GOOD GUYS. Force-sensitive people have _literal superpowers_. The best thing to do for them is to teach them how to use those powers, and to use them for good.

    I've been asking how were robots seen on former separatist worlds but what about Jedi. They would be vilified like droid in separatist worlds and also vilified on royalist worlds but could seen as Enimies of my enemy in separatist hold outs like agogbar .in the rebels episode

    Is Star wars a sci-fi that ignores time dilation . Luke spend days on Dagoba whrn Han Lea and chewy&3po were spend hours in an asteroid belt . But that could when we're shown the falcon traveled at sub light speed to baspin witch was would take a year to travel 1 light year. But also compare time passes on Tatoowreen to Mandolor . Obi Wan from prequels to original trilogy to Bo Keton from clone wars to rebels even to the Mandolorian

    Ego is what prevents people from being to brain washed. Doing their best becoming their best just to be their best. Problem is people confuse ego with Narcism. Believes your better then everyone because you just are . And deserve everything on shifting standards
