Scramble definitely turned those expectations on their head. Game had outstanding story, surprisingly deep combat, and legit Persona flavor. I was pleasantly surprised.

Source? ... in persona 4 regular naoto also joins just as late because each character gets there own arc. Persona 5 you get haru for almost 4 (ceo,sai,shido and final) arcs and naoto for less . She joined in order there's no way to avoid it .. I guess your implication there was to be more dungeons, hard to believe just on her placement alone, (again a source would prove me wrong, ill search myself too) The game is average 90-100 hours long which is beyond the pale for a high cost game. Can you name any games(with a AA type budget) since dragon quest 7 that have a main story stretching that long?... Things have changed but it also sat for half year for its world wide release, september 2016. they could have kept working on a patch like they used to (ff7,kh1 all got added content for world wide release mostly bosses like the weapons). They also took a year plus delay (it was due late 2014 if i remember) to take there time...
But you meet Naoto early in the game, while Haru is no one until you need her and she suddenly exist. Then you play her story, and she becomes no one again.
I think its a case of there being obviously more planned that they couldn't get to, as the game had already been in development for almost a decade. Its not that the game isn't finished, its that there was more planned. I think that is an important distinction.
Claire At the time in the story the characters didn’t really have a reason for needing to meet her early on. Comparing it to Persona 4 where Naoto is a detective working on the case almost as a rival or foil to the group. Naoto has early implementation because it’s essential to the plot.

The whole *"Who asked for this?"* complaint from some people in regards to Persona 5 Scramble is kinda ridiculous. Like that comment not only insults the people who are fans of the Musou Genre, put also the Persona fans who are interested in Persona 5 Spinoffs in general. If Zelda, Fire Emblem, Gundam, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Fist of The North Star, and even Dragon Quest can have Musou Spinoffs... I pretty sure it's ok for Persona to have one as well.
That's understandable. But the thing is, Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors in my experience, wasn't well thought out. Fire Emblem Warriors only had mostly Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates characters with a few OG ones mixed in. Hyrule Warriors had to be released on 2 consoles and 1 handheld to push people to buy it. My point is, I'm part of the people that get tired easily of musou games, especially if they're Dynasty Warriors reskins. But there are also a lot of fans of musou games that might enjoy P5S. Most of the people whining on about P5 on Switch wanted a port, and probably aren't fans of musou style games. It really depends on your opinion. But I'm sure someone will ask Atlus at E3 about a Persona 5 port, it's bound to happen.

Honestly, I started playing because Royal was $20 at a closing down sale. I have now sunk 90 hours into it and just barely got to the third chapter. I don't know what P5 is like, but P5R is phenomenal. I promise you will have a fun time with it.

Its already happening. Its in its early stages right now. Not enough for a teaser much less a trailer, but its in development. What happened was arcs was making a "grand blue fantasy" fighting game. I don't know much about the franchise. Only it was a mobile game and its first consule game on the PS4 came out awhile ago in japan. We are getting that in the states this year. Looks cool. Anyway, that fighting game is almost done. They have a small team working on P5Arena at the moment. Once the grand blue fighting game is complete. That teams full attention will be on P5A.

If this will be anything like P4 Golden, then it will just be adding even more on top, to the point where they're probably adding another 30-50 hours at least, especially after the original P5's end. P5 is very finished, they're just somehow squeezing even more.

Months later, Scramble is actually shaping up to be soooo much more than a Dynasty Warriors game. The Demo was much more persona than Dynasty warriors.
Pretty sure she doesn't have a 3DS. In her BotW for beginers she stated that the Switch was the first Nintendo console she ever owned, so I doubt she just has every single console out of the blue since then.

Also, if there’s one game series that I hope Altus considers giving the Persona 5 treatment, it would be the Trauma Center/Trauma Team games for Nintendo DS and Wii. I LOVED those games, and it would be so cool to see them come back restylized.
As someone who actually enjoyed Hyrule Warriors (enough to get all 3 versions, in fact) and is a strong member of the Persona fandom despite never having played one of the games (to my great regret, I do not own a PlayStation), I am actually looking forward to the release of P5 Scramble. Even if the main game never gets a Switch port, I will happily accept a spin-off.
Never played the first, (correct me if I'm wrong... Also spelling might be off) five Dynasty warriors, so I have two questions 1.can I just jump into the Dynesty series this late? (I did with Persona 5) 2. I've heard that the latest game wasn't very good. Is that true from your viewpoint?
@@Chicklo11 i didn't play it, but i have a friend whos a huge fan of warriors games, it seems you can jump into them late, the spin offs can be jumped in on. And the ninth game..wasn';t received well, though i heard they fixed things.

@@majorBearsky I use him for aesthetics and health regen, I'm only on my first NG+, haven't even fused Satanael yet, because on my first playthrough I had to go all in on making Yoshitsune for twins, at the very end of the game- And then I also beat the twins ASAP, so I haven't even unlocked most fusion options because I'm not far enough in the game-

I'm not a fan of Haru at all, she's my least favorite character in the entire game. But what do you mean by "time to experience her story"? We already get her story in the original. And honestly it's all on you if you don't manage to complete her social link. Any extra development we get from her, if any, will just be added to the Palace we meet her in. Same with the rest of the party. These extra months we're getting aren't going to be used to further develop an already less than half-baked character.
@@BrixieGunMage the issue with haru is that you only had a good two-three months with her, while someone like Futaba, while her story wraps up quick, you still have the entire rest of the game because shes pivitol to the entire plot. Haru didn't have that luxury. since you get her, then everyone simply forgets shes there.
@@Vladicarus Even in concept she's just an uninteresting character personality and design wise. Even if she is developed more it will just be more of the same of her being all cute/sadistic. The way Haru looks in the P5 opening movie alongside Futaba and Makoto has more personality than actual Haru. She is by definition bland to her very core.

@Sean Thomas Also, the only important minor arcana cards are the page, knight, king and queen. Cards 1-10 match to 1-10 of the major arcana so theres no good reason to make separate links for those.

I’m excited to see how they incorporate the grappling hook, I was confused why he had one in smash, yeah it fits with the tools of a phantom thief but he didn’t actually have one, so I’m excited to see if they rework some dungeons around it as a movement mechanic
Your P5 for Beginners & a recommendation from a friend made me give it a chance. As someone who hasn't played a Persona game before I'm really glad I tried this out. It's fun, emotional, and classy all at the same time. I might not have beaten the main game yet but I'm excited to see what Royal has to offer and will definitely check it out to support Atlus. Now I just gotta exercise while I play so that I can get more grinding in, just cause that damn cat wont let me multi-task in game doesn't mean I can't in person damn it!
Persona 5R will be the first persona game that i will have bought the expansion game of after playing the base since i bought p4g and then 5 so this is quite exciting
That thing about rumors is actually ironic since taking rumors and public opinion with a grain of salt is actually a big theme in Persona series, especially P4 but it's there in P5 too
(tbh I don't think that the original game was unfinished, but I think they suspiciously skimped out WAY too much on non-story-related team interactions. They added more of that for P4's and P3's re-releases it's true, but I can't think of a single memorable cut scene where the Phantom Thieves just.. bonded outside story missions like they did in the original versions of previous persona games.) *scuttles away*

I guess your implication there was to be more dungeons, hard to believe just on her placement alone, (again a source would prove me wrong, ill search myself too) The game is average 90-100 hours long which is beyond the pale for a high cost game. Can you name any games(with a AA type budget) since dragon quest 7 that have a main story stretching that long?... Things have changed but it also sat for half year for its world wide release, september 2016. they could have kept working on a patch like they used to (ff7,kh1 all got added content for world wide release mostly bosses like the weapons). They also took a year plus delay (it was due late 2014 if i remember) to take there time...
But you meet Naoto early in the game, while Haru is no one until you need her and she suddenly exist. Then you play her story, and she becomes no one again.

I think its a case of there being obviously more planned that they couldn't get to, as the game had already been in development for almost a decade. Its not that the game isn't finished, its that there was more planned. I think that is an important distinction.
Claire At the time in the story the characters didn’t really have a reason for needing to meet her early on. Comparing it to Persona 4 where Naoto is a detective working on the case almost as a rival or foil to the group. Naoto has early implementation because it’s essential to the plot.

The whole *"Who asked for this?"* complaint from some people in regards to Persona 5 Scramble is kinda ridiculous.
Like that comment not only insults the people who are fans of the Musou Genre, put also the Persona fans who are interested in Persona 5 Spinoffs in general.
If Zelda, Fire Emblem, Gundam, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Fist of The North Star, and even Dragon Quest can have Musou Spinoffs... I pretty sure it's ok for Persona to have one as well.
That's understandable. But the thing is, Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors in my experience, wasn't well thought out. Fire Emblem Warriors only had mostly Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates characters with a few OG ones mixed in. Hyrule Warriors had to be released on 2 consoles and 1 handheld to push people to buy it. My point is, I'm part of the people that get tired easily of musou games, especially if they're Dynasty Warriors reskins. But there are also a lot of fans of musou games that might enjoy P5S. Most of the people whining on about P5 on Switch wanted a port, and probably aren't fans of musou style games. It really depends on your opinion. But I'm sure someone will ask Atlus at E3 about a Persona 5 port, it's bound to happen.

Honestly, I started playing because Royal was $20 at a closing down sale. I have now sunk 90 hours into it and just barely got to the third chapter. I don't know what P5 is like, but P5R is phenomenal. I promise you will have a fun time with it.

Its already happening. Its in its early stages right now. Not enough for a teaser much less a trailer, but its in development. What happened was arcs was making a "grand blue fantasy" fighting game. I don't know much about the franchise. Only it was a mobile game and its first consule game on the PS4 came out awhile ago in japan. We are getting that in the states this year. Looks cool. Anyway, that fighting game is almost done. They have a small team working on P5Arena at the moment. Once the grand blue fighting game is complete. That teams full attention will be on P5A.

If this will be anything like P4 Golden, then it will just be adding even more on top, to the point where they're probably adding another 30-50 hours at least, especially after the original P5's end. P5 is very finished, they're just somehow squeezing even more.

As someone who actually enjoyed Hyrule Warriors (enough to get all 3 versions, in fact) and is a strong member of the Persona fandom despite never having played one of the games (to my great regret, I do not own a PlayStation), I am actually looking forward to the release of P5 Scramble. Even if the main game never gets a Switch port, I will happily accept a spin-off.

And then I also beat the twins ASAP, so I haven't even unlocked most fusion options because I'm not far enough in the game-

Really I’m just glad the three months will give us time to experience Haru’s story. She came so late in the original game and you needed one of your stats at max just to begin her confidant
I'm not a fan of Haru at all, she's my least favorite character in the entire game. But what do you mean by "time to experience her story"? We already get her story in the original. And honestly it's all on you if you don't manage to complete her social link. Any extra development we get from her, if any, will just be added to the Palace we meet her in. Same with the rest of the party. These extra months we're getting aren't going to be used to further develop an already less than half-baked character.
@@BrixieGunMage the issue with haru is that you only had a good two-three months with her, while someone like Futaba, while her story wraps up quick, you still have the entire rest of the game because shes pivitol to the entire plot. Haru didn't have that luxury. since you get her, then everyone simply forgets shes there.
@@Vladicarus Even in concept she's just an uninteresting character personality and design wise. Even if she is developed more it will just be more of the same of her being all cute/sadistic. The way Haru looks in the P5 opening movie alongside Futaba and Makoto has more personality than actual Haru. She is by definition bland to her very core.

Your P5 for Beginners & a recommendation from a friend made me give it a chance. As someone who hasn't played a Persona game before I'm really glad I tried this out. It's fun, emotional, and classy all at the same time. I might not have beaten the main game yet but I'm excited to see what Royal has to offer and will definitely check it out to support Atlus. Now I just gotta exercise while I play so that I can get more grinding in, just cause that damn cat wont let me multi-task in game doesn't mean I can't in person damn it!
