After my divorce in 2009 I rented a room in a house with 3 other guy's for 31/2 years $500 per month including utilities. It was a great time and it really helped me get back on my feet. I bought a small house in 2012 for $112 K paid for now. Great little place except for the property taxes. If I was younger I would probably try Salt Lake City. You have me curious about private detective work 🤔

Just like I was saying, thanks for backing me up Kwai. I have no idea what they mean by "private detective." Feels like some chick just googled "jobs with no degree" and picked the top 4.

Go to Springfield or many other places with a GED while 20,000 or more people there can't read or write and you'll be like Einstein.

I made $10/hour in 1990 ($24/hour inflation adjusted 2024 dollars) painting part time. Qualifications were showing up sober on time, and being able to get the right amount of paint in the right place without spilling it. Do you want another rental property so you can live without a W2 job? None of my business, just thinking that's pretty cool, and hoping it works out well for you.

Get real, bro, I've worked around painters. You only needed to be sober-ish.

Why on earth would they choose the career of a "private detective" as a metric? Welder, HVAC, Plumber, Construction worker, Factory worker would've a far more applicable metric to follow.
Also, you're dead on about Minneapolis. It's an absolute nightmare but most of the places outside of that city (and Duluth for some reason) is okay.

The Nati has plusses and minuses. The pay there is pretty low, but yes, rent or prices of homes are dirt cheap. Thanks to Kroger, food is pretty inexpensive, too (not a big eater, anyway), but energy costs is where I used to get hit. To wit: I lived right in the city (Northside), so I was beholden to the Cinergy mafia for heat, light and power back in the day. It can be dangerous there, of course. I was mugged twice (ran away both times with my cash and my life) and my ex-gf was held up, but she ran off, too!
Even though Minnesota can be very affordable - I think that Nick Rekeita guy's mansion was only a quarter of a million - keep in mind, you have to live around the people. Sotans can be an odd lot. They typically have no sense of humor and take everything literally, and they are NOT "Northern Nice". If you didn't go to Kindergarten with them, they'll look at you like an amorphous alien. Raymond, if you have issues with loneliness, you'll have a good chance of being treated like a total pariah up there. More so than you feel now.

Yeah, some parts of natti and nky are good... even some reasonable price spots that aren't high priced
