Thanks for sharing your potter friend’s work. Have you ever considered starting a second channel that showcases artisans work. You are a natural presenter with a generous nature. So many talented people that would love to be introduced to the world. I think it would be an interesting venture that you would be perfect for. Just a thought.
The permit system looks like it is being changed to suit certain groups. It seems most mudlarkers have a real investment in preservation and the have a love for the areas. A bit of meanness going on here
I really agree! Nicola is a wonderful presenter. A natural! She easily conveys knowledge in a way that mak a things easily understood. I think of each of her videos as a “mini vacation” with an artist and historian and preservationist. I have chronic illness, and it is so important for me to keep my focus on beautiful and interesting things so that I don’t get discouraged.
Your words on mental health hit home hard as I do struggle with things due to circumstances that were out of my control. I have gotten help and continue to do so but just wanted to let you know that your channel, Aaud's channel, the Northern Mudlarks and others truly help soothe one's mind and to me are very therapeutic. I also follow Aquachigger and a few other metal detectorists as well as some bottle hunters and privy diggers. Its people like yourselves that do more than you will ever know in helping people in a fragile state. God Bless.
An absolute joy to join you in your adventure on the foreshore and with Adrian in his studio. Thank you for taking us all along and for enabling us to learn more about pottery.
Adrien’s pottery is spectacular. I am a newbie potter, and my mouth just fell open at his art. So very very talented. Please thank him for sharing his experience with us. 🌺🌸
It was great, I am sure she laughed when she played the video back. Funny how the camera will pick up things that we miss when there is so much to see 😂
You hit my pottery collecting nerve with your love of it and the outstanding interview with Adrian. I was drooling!!!! I've been collecting since my mid-20s; I'm now 69 and have so many well-loved pieces. I'm not sure my life would have been fully complete without pottery. Thank you for this outstanding episode! Love and hugs from me in New Mexico USA.
What a fun and interesting video, Nicola! Really enjoyed your extraction and excitement over the mallet bottle, as well as your visit to Adrian's pottery and the visit to Cornwall. A little bit of everything, and Squirrel, too. You have such nice and helpful friends and fellow mudlarks. You are one lucky gal, Nicola! And we are lucky to have you in our lives.
Nicola’s personality is so warm and welcoming that she attract folk to her. I too am delighted to have found her, and her wonderful videos. She has certainly taught me a great deal!
Very interesting Nic as usual thank you so much. Pottery is always interesting and a lot of skill involved....Good luck with fixing the bottle neck...Thanks as always. Love from Norfolk. xx
Very informative pottery video. Naw those baby geese and ducks were so cute. Congrats on finding the bottle it’s a beauty. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
What a wonderful video Nicola!! I love watching your mudlark videos because we get to learn so much about the history of things that you find, but I also love the way you bring in people that you know concerning a subject that you find mudlarking, which was pottery this time. Didn’t he have some beautiful beautiful pieces?!!My favourite piece was the 3 fish plate hanging by the door. My second cousins wife was into making different types of pottery and she did such beautiful jobs of what she was working on. She did an 8 Piece place setting for her China set and it was so lovely to see. Then she went on to do plates of every dog that they had ever owned and I can tell you they owned a lot of dogs. I absolutely love seeing how excited the little boy was, and then seeing his dad twice as excited which I thought was the best!! Mudlark will be something that they do together for a very long time and what memories they’ll make together. Now this brings me to the new way of getting the mud larking permit. I hope you don’t mind me putting in my two cents worth, but I think the mudlarkers like yourself and SIfinds who have been doing it for years and years should just automatically be renewed and I think the new permit holders should be from the public that haven’t had a permit before so therefore they’re a different category. I really hope that the mudlarkers like yourselves are able to get your permit without a problem. Let’s hope. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Well, see you in your next video. Have a great week Nicola!!🥰🐬
Lovely stuff you found that day Nicola. Just been watching one of Si's digs in an old dump. He should bring you the broken blue and green glass that's no use to anyone except you ... for your fish. I'll comment the same to him.
That was such a special vlog, first the Thames , your friends and your finds( that wonderful onion bottle) and then seeing your friend Adrian’s pottery and his beautiful work.
What a fascinating film and a travel adventure too. Lovely pottery and what a gorgeous beach in Cornwall. Thank you for all the information and beauty!!

Greetings from Austin, Texas! I just LUV your channel! My sister and I walked a tiny bit of Thames shore while in London years ago. It was located off Wopping High Street behind a bar. We found nada but then we had no idea what we were looking for! We just watched this episode and now we want to travel to Cornwall to see the pottery. Mr Brough told me more about pottery in 10 minutes than I had ever known. Because of your generous sharing, I might add. Wishing you health, wealth and lots of sunny days! 🌟🌟
Greetings from Kernersville, North Carolina, USA…I love your videos. Thank you for sharing Mr Brough’s fabulous pottery. What an amazing ARTIST he is. I am so impressed that you have such a good eye to SEE the items you find in the MUD, no less. Thanks again and Happy Mudlarking.🤗

What an absolutely joyful episode! Your videos are always fascinating, but you really have surpassed yourself! Wonderful mudlarking finds - I’d spend hours just looking at that glorious bottle, meeting Buster and his Dad, and the wonderful trip to Adrian’s pottery. What an absolute inspiration! For some years my enthusiasm has been a bit lacking, but I’m slowly getting it back, and what a difference it’s making. You, Nicola, are a real inspiration - thank you!
OMG! Don't know where to start, the alchemy/magic of potting blows my mind. What I didn't know about was the cooling technique of earthenware . . . made me shout out loud ''woooow''. The bottle, coins, shards all fab and fluffy ducklings, so adorable. Loved everything, thank you.
The fish teeth were very interesting. Never saw anything like those before. I loved the bottles, pottery and coins, not to forget the ducks and geese, too. Plus potter visit! Thx

That mallet bottle was a superb find Nicola, very happy for you. lovely to see the geese and their young on the river. Sounds like Mr or Ms squirrel was not happy with the decor of the room, must be fussy. Wishing a safe and enjoyable week ahead.
Fantastic informative video thank you Nicola. Me being a qualified Chef I love finding pottery fragments where I go mudlarking.
