    He has completely forgotten to mention the first and most serious effect of the melting of the ice. The level of salt in the ocean would drop so much to completely stop the warm currents travelling from the Caribbean’s to the west coasts of the UK. These current is the central heating system of the Northen Emisphere and when it stops will cause the second ice age. Most of the Northern regions will freeze. It’s a safe switch that the Earth has in place for such events like melting of the poles.

      Why does salt cause currents?

    • @Mickysmusicprogect
      @Mickysmusicprogect 2 роки тому +21

      @@TheGoldenBoot-cz1do it’s about the temp of the oceanic current that travels between the middle America and the north hemisphere. The current warms up in the us and rises to the surface travelling back to north Europe and warming it up. However, as it passes the heat over the current cools down and sinks, starting a return journey to the us to do it all over again. This only happens if there’s a certain level of salinity in the ocean . The salt reacts at molecular level with the change in temperature.

This however has a downside event aswell, accelerate the spin rotation might re-activate tectonic activity and will result in quake's and vulcano eruptions. Is something to think about, if people who want to live on another planet like Mars.

      We could have “The Great Pissin Sea” & free salt! I’m in.
      Don’t read this if you’re easily offended by facts.
      Since the CCP has gotten off Xi free, for its role in excessive emissions, greedy strip-mining of every resource, animal, plant & mineral plus this pandemic & inevitable future pandemics, I say the PeeSea can go inside their Great Wall! It’s a win/win for the planet, us & any other countries they plan to claim back.
      (I’m not racist, by any means, a bad person is a bad person, it doesn’t imply the entire race is bad. I don’t like left swinging activists, feminists or others who prey on the modern conscience of western society to get their way, rather than work for it. Any leader or person, who can’t take an insult is far too dangerous to be in a position of power. But they’re amusing to listen too.)
      Don’t be mean to me, I wasn’t born with a “safe space”, we dealt with life.

    Hey riddle can you make a video about if pollution suddenly disappeared?

    • @novembercherry4
      @novembercherry4 2 роки тому

      If pollution disappears, we still have natural happenings. Methane, over population, volcanoes going off, massive earthquakes… The earth isn’t perfect. We could take care of earth better than a mother takes care of her new born child, but it is inevitable… the earth is destined to die. It sucks. I’d love to see that video too.

    • @DMGDeMosr
      @DMGDeMosr 2 роки тому

      If pollution disappears, temperatures will rise. Sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere actually has held the temperature ½°C lower than it would be without it. In fact, between 1945 and 1980, increasing levels of SO² kept global warming at bay, until environmental activists pushed to reduce SO² emissions (acid rain - the downside to high SO² levels).

    Over the last million years the temp raises and falls in a cycle. After each glaciation event the planet gets warmer. For most of earths history there was no polar caps. Actually we are cooler than average on any time line longer than 250000 years. Sea level has risen 400 feet in 12000 years and we are behind the average now. That's around one foot every 33 years.

      Don't let the truth(as you're speaking), get in the way of a good fear-mongering/boogie-man story. The Earth has warmed and cooled, thousands of times throughout it's history. Like you said: For most of the last 200,000,000-300,000,000 years, there were no ice caps on the planet. Antarctica didn't start to freeze until around 30 million years ago, and the Arctic didn't start to freeze until millions of years after that. This is nothing new for the planet.
      And if it wasn't for global warming, the planet would never cycle out of ice ages.

    What about the land raising due to less weight from ice what about permafrost land becoming available what about less desert due to more rain?
    It's not all doom and gloom things have always changed that's life, those that adapt thrive those that winge and wring their hands and actually do nothing die.
    It's called natural selection.

      We should be making maximum use of this decade to set in motion a continental water management strategy that is directed at sequestering floodwater in the water tables and reservoirs. If we do this over decades, we could keep up with the displacement of melted polar ice by sequestering 100 trillion m³ of marsh-purified water over decades to manage sea level. W/ volume of Lake Superior being 11.6 trillion m³, it's a big task. The @SDG2030 decade should be used to the maximum to set the foundations for managing such a project.
