Would this work the same as white chocolate chips in cookies if I cut it in small chunks?

“Unrefined” means the coconut oil is pure, which has the coconut scent. I’m sure you meant refined.

Drove home the fact that chocolate is basically a fat. It’s like taking a bite of butter!

The cacao butter burned because your water in the pan was touching the bowl. Just an inch or so of water will keep it from doing that.
I use my mini muffin pans with cooking spray to form the chocolate in. Good video with the substitution of coconut oil instead of powdered milk to make it dairy free.

"Double boiler" was the first thing I noticed. Thanks for your helpful comment.

I used to love the store bought white chocolates. Now that I know what goes into it I'm never going to look at it. Thanks for saving my life.😆

Question, Could i sub the coconut oil for vegetable shortening? I saw another recipe used vegetable shortening! I just made my own with only cocoa butter, icing sugar and vanilla but it was WAY too rich without something to balance out the flavour

I followed this recipe and it was just way too strong. It set really quickly and was fun to make but just not enjoyable to eat. Is there anything that could make it sweeter and less rich (if that makes sense)

Could you put a bit of cocoa in a small portion and make swirls? Never knew how chocolate is made (probably cause I don't eat it :) ). Was very interesting and easy. Tfs

Yes you could. You would need to put it in a ice bath in order for it to thicken as you blend.

My powdered sugar and oil didn’t mix. The sugar crystallized and sunk to the bottom. Wouldn’t mix in. Tried for an hour....
