Me too. Both my boys, 27 and 39, grew up with this music because I played my music alot. We had the very best tunes. This song reminds me of lying out at the beach, wind blowing, waves crashing, surfers out, smell of coppertone tanning oil, and carefree teenage years.
They freaking killed that live! Honestly, I was kind of bummed you were doing a live version. And not just a live version, but one that was done 30 something years after they recorded it originally. I expected a version that was a shadow of the original. I was not expecting this. They knocked it way out of the park. They can still sing! What a brilliantly polished live act. That is such a great display of talent with undoubtedly many thousands of hours of polishing their craft and art.
I have been priviledged to see them twice live over the past five years and both times equally mesmorizing. Personal favorite will however always be the less known "I'm Mandy fly me"
Listen to the full version of the original song. It was a landmark in recording technique, and a hauntingly beautiful song. So full of sound yet so much space. Simply amazing.
Big boys don't cry was recoded during the studio recording. Kathy Redfern was the secretary at the Strawberry Studios. She came out to tell Eric Stewart he had a phone call. They just asked her and she obliged.
These are one of the bands from the 70's that make me love this era! I grew up then but the music....brings back SO many memories! Paul Davis, Player, Dr. Hook..

i love this song, since i was a child. in germany it was in a film. i've never forgot this music and since that time, up to now i love it , there is no end 😍🥰
What is amazing about this performance is how close it is to the studio recording. Except for a few things here and there you would swear they were lip-syncing to it. His voice still sounds great after all these years.
Graham Gouldman the guy in the middle on Bass is the original 10cc member in this line up..........Excellent performance! Should check out the original 10cc with Eric Stewart singing
It still amazes me that young people like you are really starting to appreciate music like this. I don't know if it means you like the sound of it better than what is played today, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The studio version is so epic that I feared this being a live version, but was pleasantly surprised at this performance. I love how quickly you picked up on the denial of lyrics :). I always interpreted it as not so much breaking up, but him avoiding getting into a serious relationship in the first place by kidding himself that he's 'not in love'.
thanks, Girl! This is one of my favorites by 10cc - also, if you haven't heard it yet -- "the Things we do for Love" -- it's almost hard to believe this is live, b/c so perfect harmonies/instrumentals - !
I recall 10cc had to do with a syringe of 10cc of what ever turned you on. But I'm sure it has changed into today's social correctness so it doesn't give bad ideas to youth. My self being a percussionist I would say the musician playing the Rumba Shaker/ Maraca, is a percussionist at this point. But as well he is the drummer. For some reason this song reminded me of. Give a reaction to, or give it a listen. If you haven't heard it. "SWEET" BY band " Cigarette After Sex " Beautiful voice with a transcendent quality, In much of their music. Great reaction.
This incredibly diverse Band split into 2 pairs: 1/ Godley and Creme 2/ Stewart and Gouldman but I think only Graham Gouldman is here in the middle. Stewart spent three weeks recording Gouldman, Godley, and Creme singing "ahhh" 16 times for each note of the chromatic scale, creating a 'choir' of 48 voices for each note.Creme suggested they could keep the voices going for an infinite time by using tape loops. Stewart created 12 ft long loops by feeding them at one end through the tape heads of the stereo recorder, and at the other end through a capstan roller fixed to the top of a microphone stand.. YOU MUST HEAR THE STUDIO VERSION RR :)
The best “in denial” song ever. One of THE songs of my life! Remembers me, in the 70’s, listening this in my room, lights off, just “traveling” in those strange and kind of magical sounds! All so new and original, then! Still love this!!!!! ✌️
I was eight years old when this came out... my mom was 24 years old it's amazing how music from this genre stays with you throughout your life especially exposed to it at a early age,... growing up in the 70s and 80s where's some of the best times for music

Youre smile got me crushing hard! Seriously though, I love watching you experience the emotion of the music. Simply pure, naturally wonderful. You pick up on things I missed and I appreciate that so much. makes me appreciate some of my favorite older songs all the more. Thank You!!!
Seminal song, brings back an ocean-liner worth of memories for me, and seeing you, so many years later, really enjoying it, is both bizarre and exciting!! Thank you so much, there's so much more from our era...Needless to say, there are many more 10cc songs/albums worth checking out.
I was a kid growing up in the 70's the music was great. listened to a lot of radio there were really only the 3 networks to watch on tv so music was more my thing.. I love watching you react to this music your smile just lights up my computer screen.. such a beautiful lady.. makes me wish i was 30 years younger ..
I was in my 20s when this came out I just got out of the Navy and I met a girl who I liked but I was still processing getting out of the service and Vietnam love was hard to feel, I felt more alone in a world I didn't understand so we parted, but this song really spoke to me
This is the sound of flowing red wine being performed by a group of artists who have each achieved Master status. A dying breed of musicians who create music instead of just sounds.
The reason those backup vocals are piped in is because, if I'm not mistaken, in the studio they layered the harmonies until there were over 100 voices. So sweet. Your reactions are tip-top, princess.
First time I heard the Aaaaaahs from a synth, when this came out, since then every synth I own has pretty much that sound bank in it, Still gives me the creeps and goosebumps on my arms. When I use this for an arrangement, it's like heaven opens, if you use it on a subtle way, like 10cc did.
Good discovery for you. I got introduced to the band in 1982, whilst in England at Uni. Been hooked on that tune ever since. Memories of love lost via a letter after a year absence. True story...enjoy. .. 🇨🇼🇩🇲🇨🇦
Good live performance! At the time this was released it would not have been (easily) possible to do a faithful live performance of this song because the infinite sustain vocal "keyboards" had to be done with tape loops and faders on the mixing desk. These days of course you can put anything you want into a keyboard.
I’ve always loved this song. What they did for the “going to space” thing was pretty flippin’ complicated. I was watching a doc with some of the Engineers and Producer. BTW… the “Big boys don’t cry” section was spoken into a single track, then mixed in afterward. It was “performed” by one of the Administrative Assistants. PS. I think you’re great. You bring something to this type of platform that others simply don’t… or can’t. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s an sense of optimistic freshness. Openness and honesty. It’s really something. Keep doing what you’re doing… don’t stop. I have a feeling this is but one step toward something much bigger for you. God Bless you. Cheers…
@@RogueRxyce Nothing but love. I would love to see you do a Radiohead reaction… “Let Down”, “Creep”, “How To Disappear Completely.” Never change young Lady.

When this was a hit, there was nothing else on the radio that sounded anything like it.

this was a red hot summer in London 1976 in my early 20s takes me back to those heady days of the 70s
Ditto
70s great times now these time's thing's are quite depressing.
I remember the heat of ‘76! I was visiting in Manchester!
1975 actually but great times, Number 1 for 2 weeks from 22nd June 1975, spending 11weeks on the Chart.
I have previously put this 10cc on my favorite list, but your comments have made this group 20cc
I have danced so many times to this song. I love your enthusiasm and love of the music.
New to the channel! I have heard this song a million times but watching your reactions and facial expressions is pure joy😎
And it was them over and over.
WOW! They freakin crushed that...great reaction!
They also had a great hit titled "The Things We Do For Love."
The singer is Mick Wilson. He is an amazing singer. I loved watching you enjoy it, I love this song, too.
True story...enjoy. ..

With my earphones on and my eyes closed it sounded just like the studio version. Class act.
Good live performance! At the time this was released it would not have been (easily) possible to do a faithful live performance of this song because the infinite sustain vocal "keyboards" had to be done with tape loops and faders on the mixing desk. These days of course you can put anything you want into a keyboard.
I grew up with this song. I call it the song of denial.
Listen to the bass closely in this song, the player is doing his own thing, while adding depth, love it!!
he's whistling past the graveyard, he knows he done, lol.
Always loved this tune. It was quite unique when it was released. In a special kind of way. And still is for me.

What a beautiful, charismatic, intelligent lady, she deserves a TV career.
One has to be used to UK sense of humour to appreciate some of their songs. This one is universal.
You can really appreciate this 👍🏻❤️
I am 62yrs and i have been so blessed to hear the range of music growing up.🥰🥰🥰
