    Funny we all reach that point of just buy for specific needs. Another build that looks good !

    I have picked up a lot of info from the Locomotive Shop, I think a lot of guys who spend 200.00 for a loco have a fear of messing it up painting and weathering it ( make it your own) . Just bought a Badger Sotar 20-20 when I repaint and weather rolling stock, buildings and Locomotives . The biggest plus is the small paint cup your view of where you want your paint and how much is great.
    On buying used Loco's I always dismantle the running gear and soak them in Fantastic Kitchen cleaner to remove old grease from the worm gears and the trucks. Thanks Joe for the series.

    well it was a GP-38, so I will always say it is awesome. that is what drove me to liking the Conrail, always watching the train rumble though town, 3 loco's on the lead. caboose on the end

    Another great video! Glad to know I’m not the only one who has trashed several locos for junk buys and messing them up trying to update them.

    The engine looks Great! I've always been intimidated when it comes to weathering anything. Love the channel

      Thank you! Just remember weathering is abstract, no 2 locomotives weather the same, and the same locomotive may look different 12 month later. Just go for it! If you mess it up, you can always repaint it.

    Maybe you should have showed some of those failures. I figured you were one of the lucky ones. Thanks for sharing.

      You know I wish I had kept them to show everyone. However I have a short fuse, so most of them got smashed! lol!

    A cool trick is to paint the fan blades silver or gray. grill and all. Then use the Tamyia panel line paint over that. Then dry brush the grill with the body shell color. The results looks like you put in 3D fans. Fast and easy to do.

    Well that is sad to hear, but truth be told you can never have too many LOL. When you do return I will be watching. Thanks for the hard work and time. Peace be with you. Question, did you use a gloss before decaling?

    • @centraljerseyconrailinnsca5676
      @centraljerseyconrailinnsca5676  Рік тому

      No I stopped clear coating the models a while back. I just use gloss paint and the MicroScale decal finishing set (MicroSol, MicroSet, and Clear Coat). Thanks for watching and following along!

    Good simple video . I have the Atlas 38-2 's in Seaboard paint scheme. I was wondering what number micro couplers did you use for this locomotive? Please let me know as I need to order some and do some conversions... Also you ain't the only one with to many Loco's . I am way over what I need and now putting sound decoders is a small fortune. Also I have a Conrail U boat I will be trying a Lok Sound to fit in. I have done the same to decoders also( Lok sound ) ...a short and etc and 100 plus dollars in the trash....

      Oh ya I feel your pain, especially with the price of the new LOK sound decoders. I used MT 1015-1 couplers on all my locomotives. You get 2 pairs in each pack and they are fully assembled (big plus for me). Check the Locomotive Shop playlist, I did two U25B's with LOK Sound. Thanks for watching.
