No dig on any of the players from the other lineups, but I've listened to the studio version of this song a million times and this right here is a completely different animal. Those 3 breathe together in a way that is impossible to replicate, and in this case, it elevated an already great song to, well, Sabbath.
After Ozzy announced he quit because of the health issues, Toni Martin is the last Sabbath singer left and he is in good shape, I beg Mr Iommi to write some new songs and record with Toni Martin, this is the last chance
Dio was so great because live, he sounded amazing every time. Lots of other singers have their bad nights or off nights. I've never heard Dio sound bad live. He forgot a lyric or two but he crushes it always. Tony sounds like he's struggling which Dio never did. Tony is amazing on the albums but here he just sounds like a mere mortal who can't hit it out of the park every night. oh well...
During this period he had throat infection. Listen to live in Manchester or Hammersmith live in 1989. Tony hits most of the highs like on the studio recordings. Anyway, Dio was untouchable!
Yeah, on the live tour of 1994 Bill Ward played a few shows, Black Sabbath is my favorite band of all times, all the members of this lineup are my favorites, yeah, Tony Martin is my favorite BS vocalist, thanks for sharing.
