@@maxk880c9 also got to quarters in 2016 and 2017, both times by winning games vs eastern teams, and they even won some games in quarters (2017 they lost 3-2 vs lpl team WE). I’d say these are a lot more impressive than NRG who only got here by winning vs western teams, which would have been impossible with the groups format. Also throw in there 2014 C9, 2014 TSM and 2021 C9, basically every single NA team to get out of groups was more impressive than this year’s NRG, in my opinion, since all of them won at least 1-2 games against eastern teams. 2018 C9 winning vs AF to get to semis is just the cherry on top.

TBH, best interpreter ever. The interpreter in the previous lol worlds' tournaments always misunderstood players' words, and made wrong aggressive translation. However, this time, every translation is appropriate and nice. Great and thx for sharing the game highlights.

@@bakeconn I’m a Vietnamese, and im proud of what our teams have done this world, considering we are a small region, tho we were never once thinking maybe we could be world winner, we are happy that our teams tried their best. And for NA, for riot to consider it to be a big region and give them 4 seeds despite their horrible performance for the past few years is just insane. As for the fans saying they lost interest in worlds just because they thought NA could actually getting somewhere. There’s a difference between being fans and delusional.

I dont ever see a NA player being in one the good teams 💀. Objectively speaking EU is way better than NA and much more entertaining to watch. Regarding what NRG have done this world, respectfully, it’s not that impressive considering what you guys have done in the past. As for us Vietnamese teams, we are only allow to have 1 seed into World stage, meanwhile NA or EU have 4, would you say that’s fair considering our seed 2 beats BDS, EU seed 4, just to be then taken out by our own seed 1. And our seed 1 lost most of their games to GenG and DK (LCK seed 1 and 3) so there arent really a chance for them to prove themselves againt “supposedly big region” NA. Yes NRG were really lucky with their draft, tho i’m not denying their win against G2 was quite impressive but that’s about it, if you are proud of that, i’m happy for you but dont sit there dreaming about beating LPL and LCK while your seed 1 literally get smashed by the weakest Asian team there is.

It feels like there's just not as much personality in players as there was 5 or 6 years ago. JDG and Geng may be the best teams in the world, but all 10 players feel identical. If I need to watch them stream to see their personalities, that's a problem. The skill ceiling is higher than ever, but that seems to have lowered the amount of creativity and flare in the scene.

I'm so impressed at how in the first game NRG had so many chances to actually do something. I'm impressed at how they didn't completely get wiped.
At the same time I'm equally as impressed at either how they (NRG) managed to do nothing or WBG managed to hold them off? Like I'm so confused. I was sure they could have won game 1 but then at the same time they really couldn't lol.

IT is eastern team style in best of 5's they always play "easy" the first game, give the NA or EU team a chance to win and thereby explore the strengths of the enemy...
They ramp up from there, you can see in this series the first game they played it nice and slow, and second game was less close and third game EVERY LANER and EVEN Weiwei was bullying NA HARD.
That or they got told by riot to make it "look close" at least lose one game to na to make it an interesting series.

I think game 3 was just tilt. I’d base nrg real skills off of game 1. Game 2 is what happens when a worlds class team takes small leads pre ten mins and n play perfectly from then on. Can’t do much. At least they didn’t go out like absolute dogs.

NRG didn’t even play poorly they got absolutely failed by 7 coaches. Talk about a draft gap. Games 2-3 were like bronze players drafting against challengers. I would have just dodged if I were them. Unplayable
NRG needs to rebuild around Contractz and Palafox. I would love to see them grab Licorice in the top lane. Licorice, just like Contractz both had amazing potential when they played for C9. Licorice was one of the main reasons why C9 won a heck of a lot of their games when he played for them and when Licorice plays with other good players he really shines. Contractz was young and full of potential when he was on C9. If C9 would have nurtured both of them I bet they'd be insane right now. I 100% approve of them taking Blabber over Contractz at that time, I love Blabber. I would just love for NRG to grab Licorice and find a really solid ADC (Nothing against FBI).

2014 and 2018 were definitely some of the best years for western teams, but it all depends on meta, G2 and Cloud9 come pretty close to beating some of the best of LPL and LCK, does anyone remember G2 making finals?
It’s possible to beat the best teams, but this year was different. Different meta, different team and different players.
The fact that Cloud9 isn’t the #1 seed for NA is what bothers me the most and the fact that G2 lost to NRG feels weird.
