Personally, RTP is the best dampener. I have had a chronic wrist/elbow problem ever since I picked up tennis. However, ever since I started using this dampener, the pain was gone and I never became afraid to swing at my full power anymore. I definitely recommend the product to any players who felt the fatigue and pain on your wrist and elbow through the long hours of play. It really helps.
I use the Tourna Pete Sampras dampener, I think the box said O-Damp or something. So simple but seriously so good. No giant piece of rubber or anything, just does the job by muting the direct strings and leaves the hole in the middle open. Literally perfect and doesn't stretch the strings the way others I have tried. Have given over a dozen to friends as gifts and they all love it!
@sleepyWolvy. Amen . Before even listening, I was going to reply with pretty much what you said.
Yup totally agree.. I used many and found Pete's has max dampening effect, light and simple...
@@jonlsl I feel lucky to have found such a great one! Sometimes simple is best
Pete probably never even used the O-damp that is sold in his name. The black one he used was just a cheap as chips, industry standard washer from the local hardware store! Some of the best solutions are the simplest.
i also use it. simple and the good thing is you don't lose ALL the vibrations - it helps to have a little for feedback.
Why would you replace a dampner every 2 weeks. They last for years.
People says "dampener is useless on preventing tennis elbow". My experience : Play tennis for 15 years, current level 4.5. I began to play again after some years with my pro staff 6.1 and start suffering with elbow pain after the games. Tried lower string tensions and confort strings as well, without sucess. The dampener solved MY problem, no elbow pain anymore. An easy and cheap solution.
the socks are literally like the trampoline socks, with the rubber squares. They do look high end with all the elastic and perfect form fitting. The babolat brand has super high end socks that are made asymmetrical with a R and L sock and has tons of padding in just the places around the ankles and toes. also about heel lifts you definitely want a thin piece. thick heel lifts can cause injury even up to your hip, so 2mm is generally fine
Their socks and grips are legit - big fan
I've used dampeners for decades. I stayed away from the RTP due to the near 20.00 price tag. I became accustomed to the Tourna O damps. I finally picked one up, and I can't imagine using anything else now. Beyond comfortable. The Sampras variety works, but this dampening material is unlike anything I have felt. Great product.
Thank you for the thorough review! Their gear is the real deal.
My favorites are the purple Luxilon Legacy Dampener and the Babolat Custom Damp.
My man said he changes his shockie every 2-3 weeks...more like years...
Never had a dampener go bad.
You guys are hilarious!
The RTP dampeners are great, has helped my arm pain. Easy to install. I've been using for many months. They stay in place and last.
I will try to buy some of these products, even though it's hard to get in Canada and a bit pricey.
I used RTP dampeners a year or so ago. I have since stopped using dampeners entirely, but if I ever go back, it would be with RTP (I still have 5-6 lying around in my closet). They do seem to work better than other brands, but what I like most about them is the shape. They fit snuggly in place and if you ever shank a ball off one, the ball might still wind up where you intended. A lot of other dampeners will just leave the ball ricocheting wherever. I will say, the price point is way higher than other dampeners...
Th elast I read the dampeners just block the sound of the strings moving, but don't do anything to stop the shock, hence they don't do anything to stop tennis elbow. There is a placebo effect of course but I wonder if there's been more information in this area.
My son wears the kraken socks and often times he will wear a regular sock and then wear the kraken socks over it depending on the weather. It really helps with blisters and keeping his feet stable in his shoes
Where do you find this product. ???
Well. Saying you change your dampener every 2 weeks is up there for just about the craziest tennis related thing I've ever heard. Number 2 might be saying your company's dampener prevents tennis elbow and other arm issues.
And its heavier than other dampeners which gives heavy on the head of the racket
I’ve had the same dampener for like 10 years and man says he changes it every 2 weeks 😂
I stopped using a dampener a few months ago. I actually like hearing the ping sound of the ball hitting my strings. Instant feedback.
와 하늘쌤을 여기서 보다니!!! 댐프너와 힐패드 모두 이용하고 있습니다. It works!!
There seems to be a lot of myth surrounding dampeners , they actually help , I tried playing with a pure aero without it and I could almost instantly feel the vibrations and pain that people talk about .
I bought one and it broke in two months. I thought it was probably a fluke so I bought another and it broke on my 3rd match after installing it.
How do you stop them coming out - and having to search the court surface for them?
That’s why I only use the worm ones. They never just pop off and fly away into the unknown.
Rubberband
I use Adv dampeners. They have a special design that keeps them in place (bought mine from amazon)
yes. this rtp products is the bomb👍Try it out, you will love them all👍
Would like to see more reviews
I have two Ultra softs and one kinda ripped apart after 2months. I already got a warranty on one of them and I'm not sure if they'll send me a new one again... A bit too expensive.
@@soyellowsoviolent you should email them,
Who the hell is paying $20 for a single damper?!?
You'd be surprised on how well it works :)
@@RTPTennis I'll stick to my babolat vibrakill. Overpriced but yet still only half the price of yours.
Doordash buddy
@@RTPTennis mine RTP dmpener fell apart after 6 months of play. Quite a dissapointing experience considering the cost 😞
@@RTPTennis hi. I'm living in Japan. Any chance of me trying this out?
I thought dampeners just mute the sound and not so much dampen string vibration?
Same
Not true
Vibration causes sound
@@gnerd07 Thx mate!
Absolutely no way something weighing 10g is going to overcome the impact force of a 250-380g racket hitting a 57g ball (Fnet = Fapp + Ff). Change the sound, yes.
It's Sorbithane. That material is well known to dampen vibration. It's used in industrial work shoes and also soles for sports shoes.
I use a dampener, however has been no scientific evidence that vibration dampeners doing anything other than change the frequency of the sound. They do not prevent tennis elbow and claims to that effect are misleading. Tennis elbow is an overuse injury of the tendons in the forearm usually brought on by overuse, bad mechanics, stiff strings etc…. If a dampener cured or prevented it every player on the planet would use one.
We’ve been playing for over 30 years and played on the pro tour as well. We are familiar with the facts. We couldnt believe it ourselves after we’ve done more researching and testing. Just want to help our fellow tennis players play with less pain :)
@@RTPTennis I appreciate your company trying to help people and in fact I use your heel cushions, they are great. But I also have been playing for 30+ years and at the collegiate level and have used dampeners off and on. I don’t personally believe or have ever seen anything proven by science that they do anything but change the frequency of the string bed. If you have peer reviewed research that reveals your dampener reduces tennis elbow I would love to see it. Again, appreciate your goals of helping people.
@@eincan1313 I also believe that tennis elbow or shoulder injury is more related to bad technique or stiffness of string and racquet and so on but using a dampener makes my hands/arms less tired.
Pacific has the best.
Let's get gu to play sky Kim in an exhibition match
I'm sorry but I can't stop myself from commenting....
