Ooohj, I just discovered this channel. It is sooo good! Thank you, keep it up! If this video had a DP talking us through his idea, it would be Seventh heaven. But even this is brilliant. Thanks again!
50A at 240V not 100A at 240V. Dual EU7000 giving 11,000W is likely all most LED shoots will need. Theres a few styles of distro box I've seen using that 50A locking California connector. That would also be easy enough to adapt from a NEMA14-50/60 plug like is common with a lot of EV chargers.
I often use a long black plastic snow sled for water reflections, and I wish I would have thought of the mirror trick as it was always a chore to get the reflected angle to work. Like seeing the final results. Very nice.
Thanks Luke. Is the 7KvA duel link a custom mod, or are they sold that way in the US? We can't do that here in Australia with the Honda generators above 3KvA.
They were ballheads that had 1/4-20 receiving thread that I attached to rig wheels magnets that have 1/4-20 protruding thread. I keep some of those magnets in with the Titan tubes, but they work well with the MC’s as well🙂
I remember my last poolside commercial - our customer was VERY nervous regarding hi voltage near the water - needed to setup "stand guards" on each HMI - how did you handle that?
Most will never understand "All before Lunch" nice job, as I know you 2 were HUSTLING and around water yikes. I am going to go take a nap just thinking about it ;)
Thnx for sharing! I got a question about honda eu7000is with Arri m40. On a gig, i can't pass 70% on the m40. When i turn the output on the m40 pass 70% then the generator overload and shutdown. Do you have any idea why that happen? They both are from a rental house and no sign of oil issue or gas. Thnx for the help.
You can run it either way, I was just trying to figure out how you were burning the lamp. 240V would be a more efficient way to run it if the ballast allows you to do so and would allow you to troubleshoot the fact that you’re not getting full out put. However you would need the correct cabling to make that work. I’m assuming you’ve checked in with the the folks you rented from?
Thanks for the video Luke. Love the mirror water gag by your grip. Makes me think of this water explanation from Geoff Boyle: ua-cam.com/video/m4DBH-YiQxY/v-deo.html
LOVE the reflected water gag. Also great to see those lanterns being used in really simple ways.
Great Video Luke, really glad you showed the final product at the end!
hello

Yeah, we were hustling that whole day, so getting anyone else to talk on camera, besides Brook, of course, would have required a separate BTS crew🙂
Excellent video! I enjoyed the added water trick with the mirror.
awesome setup Luke. Thanks for sharing!

Love the snow sled idea!
You boys were working hard that's a lot of hardware for two men to move around non of it lite weight
Yup, having a third made it just work🙂
Yes, many setups there for a 2-man crew + m90. Must have had a good sleep that night.
Well done!!! The talent's skin tone looked fantastic!!! Glad to see you got Mr. Booth on!!!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Fantastic breakdown
Love the shape you were able to pull off for each scene!
Fantastic. Thanks for the education. Love the water gag with a mirror to send it the right way!
Results look great! 👌
Great video and great info! Loved getting to see the final edit
So much good stuff here Luke! Thanks for sharing :)
Clean!
So cool!! Love your vids and your work. Great job!
Brilliant!
Love this Luke! Miss you dearly :)
Hope ur thriving in NYC!
thank you
thanks luke
Thanks Luke.

👍🏻 Not sure how custom it is, but certainly doable.
its a factory option here. pretty rare given the weight of dual EU7000, most people would move right up to a tow behind or van generator.
True, that would have been the regular go to, but due to extra paperwork and cost, this was the most workable option for us.
@@meetthegaffer I mean the tow behinds aren’t typically to far off. 400-600$ for a pair of EU7000 vs 500+ for a small tow plant
A tow plant required local permitting of some sort that the out of town folks didn’t have time for.
Love the videos Luke, always super insightful. What were those mini suction cups you used for the MX, they seem great and low profile?
They were ballheads that had 1/4-20 receiving thread that I attached to rig wheels magnets that have 1/4-20 protruding thread. I keep some of those magnets in with the Titan tubes, but they work well with the MC’s as well🙂
@@meetthegaffer hadn't seen those before they seem like a great solution, thanks.
Good stuff as always! Kjell Ness, from Norway? :)
Yes, he comes from good hardy stock!

We tied the stand of the M90 back to the wall.
Hi Luke, just curious how many crew it took to pull off this many looks with that much kit in that time frame? Thanks!
In G&E there were 3 of us: Brook Johnson was the Key, Mike Booth was the swing, and I was the gaffer. The total crew was maybe 25 people.
Most will never understand "All before Lunch" nice job, as I know you 2 were HUSTLING and around water yikes.

Ha, ha! We did get a third G&E person at the last minute, so it was better in the end🙂
Can you tell me which CTO on a backlight at 4:18? 1/4 or 1/2? And on a lеko at 4:12?
I think it was full CTS on the M90 and then 1/2 CTO on the joleeko.
@@meetthegaffer thank you very much!
What is the unit at 2:20?
That’s the 3500 watt Genny standing by to be used with other units if we couldn’t use the wall outlets.
@@meetthegaffer ah. Thanks!

Not sure. Are you using it in 120 or 240 mode?
@@meetthegaffer the switch are 120 only or 120/240. I toggle to 120/240
And you are running the light in 240V?
@@meetthegaffer i don't know there was a option for that. Is there a switch to run in 240v? I didn't see it.
