- On August 3, 2019, Mitchie Brusco etched his name into the history books when he landed the world's first Skateboard Big Air 1260. That's three and a half rotations in the air, and Mitchie landed it like a boss. Because that happened two years ago today, here's a quick reminder of Mitchie's history-making feat!

#XGames #Skateboarding #1260
its crazy how we remember this more than the first place run. shows that this probably should have won then
That's what I was thinking too. But the big difference was that Elliot did an indy 720 over the first gap, plus his tailgrab 900.
He didnt win... That's muffed up
No way he didn’t win! That’s rigged
@@DK_Sonwho cares?? A 1260 had literally never been done before in the history of this competition.
I have a theory that judges rate spinning tricks lower ever since people freaked out about the 900 that one time
He deserved first place in my opinion🔥
you have to take both tricks into consideration. The 180 grab off the jump weakened his score.
@@jediflip2515the first 1260 ever being landed in this competition should outweigh anything and everything else.
@@stephboyarthree4394its not a best trick contest
@vicbirth1649 Actually Tony did get the gold medal. Which he shouldn't have gotten, because he didn't even land it during the contest time limit. But the hype changed the rules.
Is this the dude who trains youngsters on videos i keep seeing, if so what a guy!
Yep that's the guy. I jokingly hassled him about his wheels having a flat spot and he needed a new set in one of the first vids of his I watched, without realising who it was. He even replied and had a laugh about it. He's a friggin legend and a great teacher. 🙂
Lol I actually know him as the guy who teaches skateboarding. I had no idea he was actually a professional skateboarder. Like 1260 is like the biggest spin ever done
Yee! It's skate IQ!
I love this so much! I know the comparison with the 900, but this was done on the mega ramp, the 900 was a regular half pipe.
Dont forget the runs that shaun white made literally being within reach of being the first to ever 1080 on a half pipe
Which makes this less impressive than the 9
A 12 yr old landed the first 1080 on a regular half pipe right in front of Tony hawk and then hugged him
@@SeanVanGlahnand that’s physics for ya. You basically have to be pint sized to ride out of that much rotation. Or you’ll need an independently powered board.
@@SeanVanGlahn He landed the first 1080 on a skateboard too lol
Now this dude teaches me skate tricks that I'll never be able to do. He does it extremely well though.
Incredible! Looks like he throws them everyday, so casual after the landing.
Right? No reaction or excitement at all. Nothing like Tony landing the 900.
The switch drop in was just showing off 😂😂
I remember watching the 900 live on TV. Wow
Same! Wish i started skating back then and not wait 5 years
I remember the 900 blowing my mind. I wonder how far a person can physically push it? I mean there must be a limit right?😮
Bigger ramp, getting shot out of a cannon down the drop? Idk😂
Smile! You just made history!
indeed!! he just shut tony's 900 there ! what a god of skateboarding!
He was so locked in lol
@@joes.4149 Don't get me wrong, I can't even imagine the pressure.
Dude is as gnarly as they come. Nyjah, cole, birdman. Mitchie doesnt get the love but hes a savage
"knights of columbus!" that Anchorman reference 😂
Insert ''Mitchie should have won'' here :)
Mitchy should have won. He was definitely robbed a gold
Mitchie should have won 🏆
Mitch IE has dropped 2 NBD’s at X-Games and gotten hoed both times of a gold….
I remember seeing the picture in Skateboarder Magazine of Tony Alva catching air for the first time. How the wheel has turned....
I've never ridden a skateboard, but I can admire great skill, as was shown here.
How did he not get first place this was a record breaker and ad clean as possible
Between the 1260s and crazy long kinked handrails, Skateboarding is basically becoming snowboarding.
so sick, and didn't claim it, legend
It’s like there’s three different mitchies. The kid from the termite videos that would shred then this one and now the expert teacher giving great tips on skate iq
The year is 2034.. Mitchie Brusco lands the first 2520..
Whoa!
-Keanu Reeves
It’s crazy how Tony Hawk’s 900 is 1,000 times more well known than this 1,260. It just shows how much Xgames and general “trick shock value” has died out in the last decade (the age of Instagram).
Its because it was done on a "normal" ramp and he was ahead of his time.
@@gollese exactly some people lack common sense and just criticize stuff.
Another way to look at it is with a massive roll in and huge ramp, he only managed one more rotation than tony did on a vert ramp. Maybe It’s died out because they are only just catching up with the guys from 10 years ago 🤷🏻♂️
@@Yosser70 totally. That’s a factor too. General progression in action sports makes us all grow numb to absolutely ridiculous tricks. Think of how mind blowing TP’s first double backflip was. And since we’ve seen a triple back on a moto and quad flip on bmx, and both were kinda like “Mehh, that was awesome. Okay, keep scrolling….” I miss the days when VHS (even early DVD days) when you had to be intentional about discovering the amazing progression in skate/snow/bmx/moto/etc.
Congrats dude! 🎉
That boii was spinning like a top.
He didn't even slide it in. Dude could possibly get another 180 in.
That crowd has no clue what they just witnessed.
Really the craziest thing there is going down switch
This barely got any attention which is a crime 😮 this should’ve been a huge deal!
Time to try for the 1620.
The greatest....humble guy
Crazy this guy became SKATEIQ
Mitchie should've won. A switch drop into the first 1260 ever should have quite literally shut that whole contest down
That was unbelievably 😮
I remember when the first frontside air happened back in like '77 by Tony Alva or George Orton and then the frontside ollie by Alan Gelfand but I never imagined it would evolve into this!! 😮
I agree.. didn't see that coming LoL you might remember when sealed bearings was a big deal 🤟💯✌️👑
Oh yes, my first board was a trick ray moto board w ball bearings. I was stoked to get it for my birthday! 😂
This is a clap back to the Olympics “first” 1080
1280 bby
@@OroGaming2323 *180 babe, not 200
@@noobmaster69686 si es 1180 parece q fue toque el boton de el lao como estan juntos y no me di cuenta
Legend was made.
He landed it
I remember watching the first 900 can't believe there this far
He's the only one who didn't look excited about it😂
What's with the cropping, and the frame rate?
What a time to be alive 🎉
Comentator got lost for a second 😂😂😂
So clean.where's Tony hawk?
He looked like he didn't even care.
Yeah, he didn't even crack a smile. 🤷♂️😂
Soooooo friggin smooth
Fuggin sick 180 too
Would've been amazing to see the full image

@@XGamesI PLAN TO BE A 11 year old champ
Hes a killer no different than mike Tyson or ali look at his eyes pure focus epic
Clean fr
Looked unreal
He's the king that's amazing 😊
Sweet, now they have to add it to the next Tony hawk game
I feel like every skater knew that look on his face after. That look of focus and disbelief that he just actually did that. Thats always a amazing feeling too when you been pressing to get a new trick 🖤
HOW CAN U DO THIS N NOT GET EXCITED N THROW YOUR HELMET😮😂👀💀😤🙏
Smile Mitchie.
This must be how whirlwinds are started.
I never thought I'd see the 1260 .far out
Is this the same mitchie who teaches kids? Nice dude
How long has he held this record for? Legendary.
Awesome
it's always been funny to me how you can tell by his facial expression right after completing the 1260, that he wished he had taken the gap trick more seriously… Don't get me wrong, Eliot Sloan deserved the gold medal on that day! He did more difficult tricks! And Mitchie knew it- the commentators say, look how "focused" he is… No, no, no. He was disappointed in himself- i'd be willing to bet just about anything that this is a correct assessment. prove me wrong- 🤷♂️
Impressive🎉
Is this the only one ever landed? Is there any video of him making this before or after this event?
He’s definitely landed it before this competition. You don’t just go for a 1260 in the X-Games if you don’t know you can do it lol
*Makes history*
Judges: Yeah but it's not good enough :/
Laying it down like Christina on WED
I remember skating with mitchie at the boardroom in Longview, WA early 00s crazy man!!
How do they do that? Amazing
His reaction killed the moment.
please tell your editor to upload proper apect ratios. this isnt instagram
This is UA-cam shorts!
@@XGames this is lazy editing!
UA-cam shorts are portrait aspect ratio. They already have full frame video of this on their channel.
We need a gopro on his helmet so we can veiw it from his point
That's pure robbery
Alright no let's compare his 1260 on on a mega ramp to tony hawks 900 on a half pipe
I agree. That extra air given by the mega ramp has no comparison on the air Tony hawk had to create to land his trick
Yeah this is way way harder and better then Tonys stolen 900
@@Makabert.Abylonhaha stolen! Glad someone said it
You mean the 1260 is more difficult/the better trick right? 🙂
Also Tony hawk stole the 900 from tas papa he was going to land the 900 in best trick in 99' but Tony did the 900 on vert Mitchie did 1260 on mega so what it made it possible outside of THPS why judge appreciate the progression and evolution of skateboarding.
Is this skateboarding coach guy?
Yep the legend himself
I was landing that in tony hawk 3 all day
Na mega rampa até minha avó faz 😂😂😂
Why did he say “Knights of Columbus” ? 😂
Dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why did the crowd have no reaction?💀
Mil grau prestigiado
now do it on a half pipe
So he’s got a game coming out right?
Biggest snuff in skating history
HE SHOULD'VE DONE MORE WITH THAT SPEED BECAUSE TONY HAWK DID THE 900 ON A REGULAR RUN OF VERTS SMH
they will discover a better way to hold the board and add more spins
Does this mean he gets Tony hawks yearly salary + 160 mill more for the last rotation she deserves it
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS!
Man that was so cringe, imagine you are seeing history in the making and you say the name of the sponsor 💀
잘타네
The first 1260 is more clean than the first 900 but not the same ramp
Tony Hawk, now goes by Tony Hack
Wow
Respekt😉
Dude had moon gravity on
It really should be be trick for trick like make it take it in basketball best of the best. 1st place no question.
First skateboarder to do a 1260 at the x games but not the first person. In-line skaters were doing them 20 years ago before they got kicked out.
I'm rolling my eyes
At one Point Bob 360 was peak this is so much more wild
🤝
Na that face let u know he crowned himself king
What got 1st place?
Super random: I wonder if anyone sk8s Ace 77s or Tracker 184s or 215s on Mega, or if everyone still just rides Indy 215s 🤔
