My most favorite album. I saw them back in '99 , They played the whole thing ❤ The only country on this effort is Country Honk P.s. Grand Funk Railroad did a cover of this song
Nothing can match the studio version, the atmosphere it so special, it just carries me away. But you did find the best live version i've heard so far, a Rocky one very good and they play and sing so well. Really great THANKYOU
A lot of the versions from the 1972-73 Tours are killer for being so different, hyperfast, and more dynamic from the recording. Plus, Mick Taylor soars!
They've had so many hits that it's hard to single out their top song, but perhaps this one comes the closest. I would love to go back into time and and hear it for the first time again.
Thanks for sharing @ you busy people. What a cool album and what an equally cool time back then. I love all the tracks on it. The Amsterdam (at the Paradiso) Concert was great. The “Stripped” LP was also recorded in Amsterdam at the Paradiso and here is my favorite “Love In Vain” - so try it out ,-)) ! Best wishes @all from Hamburg / Germany
They would often play a small club in the cities they warmed up in before tours as a thank you. They did this in Toronto Canada several times in the 90's. I caught them in a 900 seat bar for $5 in 1993...ruined me for concerts for years.
the album has Country Honk on it. They didn't think the album had a strong single on it. So they went back and reworked Country Honk into Honky Tonk Women.

Let’s all remember what we felt the first time we heard this.
Seen them 20 times starting in ‘89. My #1 band by far. Gimme Shelter is my #1 too.
Love in Vain 1972 ‘Ladies & Gentleman’ with the amazing MickTaylor soloing! Awesome!
Oh Merry C, what an impact you made. Performance for the ages. Keith R never better. Mike and Dev, thanks for sharing.
Great presentation guys 👍
I love the content of your reactions... Thanks for the entertainment as well as the education..
Freedom is what I felt ❤
A Masterpiece!! ❤Period.
Love the text. Let it play baby!!! So fed up with the stopping, talking, stopping, talking. Appreciate you two.
Oh hello ! This was a very enjoyable show ! Great !
The whole Let it Bleed album is amazing. So many classics + a lesser known gem “You Got the Silver” sung by Keith Richards.
Love in Vain was originally recorded by a blues legend Robert Johnson back in the 1930s. So, in fact, this is a cover song.

The only country on this effort is
Country Honk
P.s. Grand Funk Railroad did a cover of this song
One could argue their appropriation of Robert Johnson’s “Love in Vain” has a more country-blues feel than the original.
Grand Funk covered Gimme Shelter, too.
AND they done a killer job, too....

@@fuchsiaswing8545 Yeah when it comes to solo guitar Mick Taylor is outstanding.

I can't believe you cats have never heard this gem...
Weird.
Peace on earth.
Dev has heard glimpses of Gimme Shelter and YCAGWYW before, but not the rest of the album at all, or the live stuff, of course.

Fun fact: the cake was made by Delia Smith, joint owner (until the other day) of Norwich City Football Club 😁😁
Strongest possible recommendation: The Playing For Change folks cover of Gimme Shelter

I play the comb on this song.......................
Rag N Bone Man has a great voice. You should check him out.
Robert Johnsons original is from 1937.
When you're grandad was cooler than you
