the seats do not contain real leather.. only BMW SensaTec(with Alcantara in the middle). I have one on order... :) I decided that the standard suspension was better due to the rough roads in my city. Drove the M Sport version with adaptive suspension and it was too uncomfortable.(again, not BMW's fault... blame my city for badly maintained roads) FYI, I'm in the US, so the steering wheel is on the right side... because we drive on the right side of the road....unlike the ones in the UK with the steering wheel on the wrong side. :) BMW also should be spanked for not making the center armrest cover open towards the driver(for people in the UK)
Good review Stef and the car looks a well balanced design. Couple of things, you've missed the fact that the wireless charging area, the silver bar pushes back to clamp the phone. The other one for me is the price of cars are soon busting the £40k area and incurring the additional £355 road tax from the 2nd year for 5 years totalling circa £500+ !!!
I've got a late 2020 x1 petrol (2nd Gen inc Panroof) with touch screen I rarely use because it can be a distraction preferring to use the iDrive. Judging by the comments the touch screen leaves a bit to be desired with this new version with the misgivings around touch screen often compared to illegal hand use (in UK) of mobile phones whilst driving (adverse touch screen use commented upon in some other You Tube videos and on the UK internet) I'm not sure about the voice commands. BMW seen to carefully factor in competing features such as styling against a suspension / ride that could be better, removing the Manual Sport gear change mode some people like to use on occasion, in the knowledge that many people will buy on PCP or what ever, and change their car after a couple of years anyway, so its a win win for BMW. As for the physical interior size compared to a Gen 2 X1. I'm 6'1" tall and there is enough leg room in my opinion in the Gen 2 X1 front and back for most journeys. BMW always seem to play down the hidden underfloor boot space in the Gen2 version which I suspect is intended for a battery in the electric version of the X1 but this space is large and useful. I haven't seen one of these new X1's yet. While the new X1 is physically larger it looks great but still there does not seem to be much in it size wise and it is probably just as easy to park in the Supermarket car park and able to avoiding the dreaded "door rash" just as easily as a 2nd Gen x1. Overall time will tell. Thank you for a good video review.

@@tarekaljneidi I eventually decided to go with the 20 inch alloys and the comfort is perfectly acceptable. My previous car was an Audi S3 which had a much harder ride!!

Hi Stef, I need your help. This or the Tonale PHEV 280. The 23i m sport premier pro is amazing value for the spec compared to the Alfa. Quality inside and space seems really good. I have come from Guilas, Stelvio quad and currently Formentor 310. Both are slower but it’s such a difficult one as I love the Alfa looks but not sold on the interior , value or light steering. I am an Alfa man hence wanting to change the Formentor. Which would you recommend?
I don't get why the bonnet is so large, does it have a V10 inside? It just make the vehicle extra long to park in small parking spaces (everywhere most of the time). Calling it a compact SUV is ridiculous.
We’ve owned one for three weeks in Sydney and like the car but hate the tech. It looks fantastic in the showroom or on a test drive but is inferior to iDrive7 in almost every way. No controller (try touching those tiny buttons when on the move!), it is unreliable, frequent crash and screen black outs and the climate controls are infuriating. The centre armrest is awful and you can’t really use the tray in the arm rest. It’s a crowd pleaser and not up to the the BMW standards of their larger cars.

Does the phone still slide around when you push the silver bar forward locking it in ? 6:00
At 5m55….About the phone sliding around, push the little bar at the bottom back against the phone, it holds it in place.

Those 20 inch alloys look great but I get the feeling from your comments about ride that opting for the 19 inch would be a better choice.
