    i can't believe they have only just done the split schedule functionality

  • @rschloch

    Phase overrides can also be accomplished with a clean type-naming convention and using the type-name to override. I believe filter overrides are higher on the override hierarchy than phases, which without looking at reference material, would likely come after object styles. Alternatively, You could also set up materials for existing. No?

    • @bimpure
      @bimpure  3 роки тому

      That means you need different types for each phase though... On big projects, that means a lot of types! Indeed, view filter have higher priority than phases overrides and object styles.

    • @rschloch
      @rschloch 3 роки тому

      @@bimpure I work on large projects, albeit from a structural.
      I assume the number of phases would be limited...to something like three or four depending on scope of work.
      I also assume the number of materials would be fairly limited. Maybe for architectural you would need 10-15 material types, me one filter for each.
      I’ve tried working without a type naming convention, and filtering items becomes the difficult part. My preference is to use the type name for almost everything. Not sure if you can filter type names in schedules yet, but it is a simple task to copy the parameter via dynamo into a shared parameter.
      I know you’re just covering new features, and it is a way to get from a-to-b. Just thought I would share how I might approach it.
      Thanks for the video. :)
      And yes; it is a lot of types...that’s what the search function in the drop-down is for! ;)

    i don't think the architects criticism Autodesk for these small Enhancements, all these Enhancements are very basic (they are too far from "Mind Blowing") and they should be there 10 years ago

    • @bimpure

      These tools are mind blowing because of the time they will help us save... but yeah, looking at the big picture, there is nothing revolutionary here.

      Hate to say this but I agree with you. Even after this 2022 update it is evident there are some basic features that revit still decides to overlook so they come back later and add them as improvements. Is autodesk running out of ideas?

    • @rschloch
      @rschloch 3 роки тому

      That’s revit, and I agree almost completely.
      I will say this; if you had to work with say, revit 2007 or 2008, you would be fairly disoriented and surprised by how many improvements they’ve made.
      In the end, they Are very Slow to make improvements or to fix quirks. I’m just happy I can use align to get my sections parallel!

    I think that Revit is overkill for cad. Datacad and sketchup used together are much faster and easier and in the end it’s printed lines on paper of a pdf. How much trouble it takes to get there is your choice.

      @@henryglennon3864 Agree, but this Archicad 22, 23 & 24 although it is more flexible it is more complex to use than past version. Like they should've put more simplified settings in their dialogue settings and more graphical editing.

    • @henryglennon3864
      @henryglennon3864 3 роки тому

      @@undo7711 Fair, but Revit has also been around years, has more resources to throw into development, and since so many good ideas have already been pioneered by Graphisoft, all Autodesk needs to do is rip them off. No innovation required.

    • @undo7711
      @undo7711 3 роки тому +1

      @@henryglennon3864 yeah, the Revit is stagnant and Archicad became complex software to use. I think the advantage of learning Revit is there's so much video tutorial you can find here in ytube while Archicad barely has (some are not in english).
