Symphonic metal masters KAMELOT return with their newest offering, I Am The Empire - Live From The 013, to be released on August 14, 2020, via Napalm Records!
The majestic live album/DVD/BluRay, recorded at the legendary 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands, consists of twenty-one songs that will tug on your heartstrings, make you want to bang your head and give you a taste of KAMELOT’s grandness live on stage with more than 100 minutes of live music and multiple exclusive extras, including backstage interviews of all guests, bandmembers and fans.
Today, KAMELOT have released the live video of their performance of “Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)” - featuring Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) and Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) - taken from the Silverthorn album (2012), which marked one of the many highlights of this night to remember for all attending fans and musicians. The hit single starts off with adventurous first notes and ominous vocal lines, evoking the palpable, non-stop energy to come. This auditory epic soars to new heights in its live incarnation.
KAMELOT frontman Tommy Karevik on “Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)”:
“We can now proudly announce that the first video to be released from the show will be “Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)”. The song marks the beginning of a new era as it was one of the main songs on Silverthorn, the first KAMELOT album with me as the singer. Enjoy!"

Great to see your reaction!! Cheers!!
Thank you. You guys are wicked awesome! Keep it up!
I already listened the entire setlist un Spotify I like it a lot
You guys wrote musical history with this awesome album, which is easily my favourite from the entire, late 20th, early 21st century, musical history!!
Elize and Alissa were with Kamelot during their tour with Nightwish in 2012...when Anette got sick, Elise and Alissa took the stage for Nightwish for the Denver Debacle. A week later, Floor joined Nightwish mid-tour...
Considering the situation IMHO the ladies performed very well that night.
@@harrybroaddus846
Anytime you're reading lyrics off a page in front of a crowd, just getting through the set list is a runaway success.
@@garyballard179 I fully agree!
A week after that, the legend begins
Yeah,, seems like Alissa has a "Finger" to find empty spots in Bands lol. For me... i totaly would had accpeted nightiwsh to stop the tour so i could see them next time. But hey... its absolute clear that your singer is OK with beeing replaced with two chicks who doesnt even can sing the lyrics. But yeah... who cares ... fuck nightwish annyway
Both Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) and Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) are swedes, and Alissa White Gluz (Canadian) sings with another swedish band Arch Enemy .. so basically 3 swedes singing on the stage together 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 with an American band 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 btw... Floor Jansen from Nightwish lives in Sweden and speaks fluent swedish too 😉, married Hannes Van Dahl from Sabaton.. another great Swedish band 👍👍👍
Alissa is French-Canadian, not Swedish.
PageMonster Hey .. yeah.. look what i wrote after her name ( Canadian) .. but if i offended you with not writing French-Canadian im sorry... and i also said BASICALLY 3 swedes.. not meaning she IS swedish... my point was that she sings in a Swedish band.. not that she WAS swedish !! Ok ?
You ought to add Kamelot, Epica, and within temptation to your playlist. They belong there together with Nightwish.
I would add Delain to that list.
Within Temptation could be tricky because of copyright
Alissa White-Gluz one of Canada's best exports ;)
Gotta say it, when it comes to Rock and Metal in the 21st century, Europe is blowing America out of the water. The talent and creativity is so far above and beyond anything we have here right now.
When Alissa hit the stage, the energy level exploded. Nobody outperforms her! Nobody!
This version is pure magic!!!
Alissa, Elize & Tommy have a lot of Chemistry together. The performance Is so teatrical.
From the same DVD I recommend you "Phantom Divine", with Lauren Hart.
Still amazing to me that Tommy is COMPLETELY self-taught...that man seriously knows his voice
You might remember the singer Tommy Karevik from singing for Ayreon. Also the man behind the keyboard is Oliver Palotai, Simone Simons (from epica) husband. I was lucky enough to be at Kamelots show in Nijmegen (Doornroosje) about 2 weeks before this was recorded in Tilburg.
Another kamelot song worth listening to is called Liar Liar Wasteland Monarchy
I agree.
You totally beat me to it I agree, another is phantom divide
Kamelot ft. Simone Simmons "a haunting(somewhere in time)
Another awesome colab I think you will like also. Kamelot"March of mephisto" is good too
Simons.
By the way, the keyboard player for Kamelot is married to Simone from Epica. One of the great things about the European metal groups is that members of one band are often on stage with other bands.
Yes! Nothing beats the Roy Khan era.
Yes the Roy Khan years were the best.
For one night in Denver, between Annette and Floor, Alissa and Elize were the lead singers of Nightwish.
Kamelot & Simone Simons - The Haunting official video. That is beautiful. You should check it out...
The most epic song ... !
I' m chill's
Elize in currently in the band "Amaranthe", Alyssa is with "Arch Enemy".....check them both out.....by the way, Kamelot's keyboardist is married to Simone Simons
of Epica.....
Yup, this is Kamelot. Blows my mind every damn time. Your candid reaction is so captivating 💗
I have seen a lot of your videos and I have to say your hair is my blue. Its the absolute perfect blue to me.
swedish singers have incredible voice and class
Kamelot is an awesome band, not just super talented but also incredibly nice. At one concert I went to the security wouldn't let someone bring in his guitar to be signed so Casey went outside to sign it. He had left the band at this point, he just happened to be in town and wanted to show his support. I know of several instances of all the band members going out of their way to be sweet and supportive to their fans.
Preciosa canción. Muchas gracias
I can confirm, they are always this good and incredibly entertaining. Have seen them 4 times 😁
This song got me into Kamelot. The whole live performance is spectacular
Yes for one night in Denver these two were the lead singers for Nightwish.
Really interesting mic technique he uses. Moving the mic closer and farther away by the sound and feeling he wants to give.
Funny thing, the keyboarder of Kamelot (Oliver Palotai) is together with Epica's Simone Simons....... And Elize is always PHENOMENAL !!!!
Now Liar Liar. Amazing musicianship
Another band I worship Kamelot. Tommy is amazing and Roy who is also known as God before him. Phantom Divine ft Lauren Hart. That chorus will be in your head for a week. The drummer his name is Alex.
Thanks Nora!!! Gary Ballard and Jeffrey Neas made comments I support 100%!!! Epica took their name from a Kamelot album (and the keyboard player, Oliver, is married to Simone!). The Kamelot videos "Phantom Divine" feat. Lauren Hart, "Insomnia" and "Liar, Liar (Wasteland Monarchy)" feat. Alissa White-Gluz tell a cool story and are all more than worthy of a reaction! Kamelot's lead singer Tommy Karevik is married to Kobra Paige of "Kobra and the Lotus" - the latter has many songs which are excellent - "You Dont Know" and "Soldier" stand out IMO.... Metal IS family!
I saw Kamelot open for Nightwish during the 2012 tour. Both bands were fantastic, and Elize and Alissa were there too. It was a magical show, probably my favorite metal show I've been to except for when Pantera opened for Black Sabbath. Tommy, Kamelot's singer, is incredible live. He's Kamelot's third singer; Mark Vanderbilt was on the first two albums, and the great Roy Khan was the vocalist from 1997 to 2010. Great band, definitely one you want to give a long and honest listen to, and one you want to see live if you ever get the chance.
Sonata Arctica and Battle Beast were support for Kamelot last year for their North America tour. Tony has the pics on his IG in his saved stories. Sonata Arctica's warm up gig for that tour was at O'Malley's Sports Bar in Florida which the full gig is on UA-cam.
Great reaction..... Next:
KAMELOT - Forever (Live)
I saw them live in 2018 in Vagos Metal Fest , Portugal . Everytime i see this reminds me that night. Awesome performance \m/
Kamelot - Elizabeth I, II & III from the One Cold Winter's Night DVD is a must-see too!
ANd yeah, the sheer talent on stage is amazing.
Also, the keyboardist is Simone's husband, and she also has collabed with Kamelot as a guest with their former vocalist, Roy Khan (the song I recommended features his amazing vocals too, gotta check it out).
Saw these guys when they were touring with Nightwish in 2012 (yes, THAT tour). Incredible show, awesome band. Highly recommend.
Love a bit of kamelot. May I suggest some earlier stuff such as the great pandemonium or rule the world. Lead singer is the original roy khan
Epic Song, and epic performance 🤘🏻
The woman in white is Elize from the band Amaranthe. The woman in black is Alissa from the band Arch Enemy.
Not a concert...A Show!!!
Yess !!!! Yess !!! Yess !!!! I love you !!!!!!
Missed ya and your very pretty love you hair
Kamelot is legends 🤘🤘
what i missed this one......here i was just to asked for it to be reacted to
Tommy is indeed an epic vocalist. Check out his main band "Seventh Wonder".
Great reaction 👍 next another Finnish Band Amorphis and a song death of a King 👌
Nora you are awsome.....pls react on ghost opera from kamelot.....it have a story in it
Kamelot is a awesome Band but this is really nice. Even if you're not into singers, Alyssa and Eliza are queens .
Alissa white gluz is the lead singer of arch enemy so wish they will let you react to arch enemy
We r ONE BIG METAL FAMILY
Within temptation with Tarja paradise!!
YES
I think you guys should check out Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Not only an Epic Song with 11 awesome Vocalists but also a very funny Video with a lot of insight from a dutch Music Mastermind
Definitely need to add some Epica into the mix!!!!
THIS is one of the OTHER Symphonic Metal Bands other than Nightwish. Kamelot is technically called Symphonic Power Metal, because they are one of the 5 to 10% that actually have a MALE front man. Bands with Female Lead Singers are Symphonic Metal. Bands with male lead singers are called Symphonic Power Metal.
My Wife and I have seen them live 3 times, with VIP tickets and they are ALL very humble people. And their concerts are JUST as theatrical and emotionally fantastic as Nightwish's concerts. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF SYMPHONIC METAL. This is the kind of mind blowing performances you GET with Symphonic Metal Bands. Oh fun fact. The Keyboard player of Kamelot is married to the Lead Singer of the Symphonic Metal Band EPICA. (Simone Simmons).
Alyssa sang in Amaranthe and Kamelot before becoming the current Arch Enemy vocalist, replacing Angela Gossow, who became the manager of her former band, Amaranthe and other two bands, so she could dedicate time to family.
isn´t Angela the manager of Amaranthe, as well?
Alissa was in The Agonist, not Amaranthe.
Still waiting for wintersun
Check out Liar Liar by Kamelot, and hit up Helix from Amaranthe.
Fun fact: The keyboardist (Oliver Palotai) is married to Simone Simons (Epica lead singer).
For Kamelot, I recommend Liar Liar next! The studio version is amazing, but here is a suggestion: the band's official live DVD will be released this Friday, and Liar Liar is on there. So react to that if it ends up getting posted to UA-cam.
Also, you'll probably see some people saying something along the lines of, "Tommy Karevik is great but Roy Khan, the singer preceding him, was better," and I'll say this: they're both great in their own right, and everyone has their preference. Roy was incredible, but I personally prefer Tommy, and the songs from his three albums with the band (he joined in 2012) are the ones I'm always listening to, with a few scattered Roy songs--which I also love!
Anyway, great reaction!
You should react to the lead singer Tommy' s other band Seventh Wonder the song I like is a new one called Tiara's song it's an amazing song so is inner enemy by the same band
Should have watched the video version. It's longer and features more of Elize singing.
The new singer has a great voice, but nothing beats the Roy Khan years the original lead singer. Songs like The Haunting live with Simone Simmons of Epica, or March of Mephisto, cold winters night, and so on.
If you want to listen to Camelot I know it's with a k... You got to listen when Roy kahn was the original singer...this guy was good singer...but, ROY...was the best. Pick March of mophisto...from the "one cold winters night live dvd" live in Oslo
Suzi - go to Floor Jansen's channel and watch her in conversation with Elize. She'll give you the correct pronunciation of "Ryd". It isn't spoken as it is written. I've been calling her "Reed" (wrongly) for years! 🤦😭
And you have a fantastic voice yourself. Don't do yourself down, young lady! 💙
You must try out Lair,Lair whit the same band Kameloth
Alright first off lets get this straight Alissa is either an angel or a demonic succubus either way I will follow her. Okay now that hormones have been address, I love this music thanks for reviewing it.
Tommy is the greatest vocalist of all time!!!!
did you miss that you heard Elize Ryd before
While Tommy Karevik is very good, in my opinion no male singer packs as much emotion and passion into a song as Roy Khan can!! Kamelot had a singer before Roy, but they made their mark when Roy joined. The band is American, Roy is from Norway. Watch any live song from the Cold Winter's Night live DVD, all on UA-cam. Geoff Tate was always my favorite metal singer until I heard King Khan, as I like to call him. Still love Tate, but Khan just lives inside a song a bit more. Forever, When the Lights are Down, and Karma are the live standouts to me. And as mentioned in another comment, his duet with Simone Simmons on The Haunting is phenomenal. She's very good too, but she's no Floor!
Roy Khan plese
i can appreciate growling when it's used intermittently for affect. but all Rahwr! all the time, no. that's the kind of singing i want to learn, like this guy, and the guy from Queensryche. that's wicked cool.
If you think he's good, watch them with tneir original vocalist Roy Kahn . Watch The Haunting featuring Simone Simmons of Epica Live in Norway.
Yes!
Only one problem with this song - too short!
I still miss Roy, But Tommy is quite fantastic in his own right. Just wish he was allowed to be a bit more himself rather than try and be Roy 0.9, that's not good for his creative flow I'm sure.
I think that with each album, he gets to be more and more creative and himself. This song is from the first album he did with Kamelot and he wanted to emulate a bit of Roy's vocal style so that the fans wouldn't be too shocked by the change. When listening to The Shadow Theory, there's way less of that Roy Khan kind of style and way more of Tommy being himself.
@@nimedhel09 If you've heard Seventh Wonder...He is being 100% tommy lol.
Isn't it absurd and funny...? Many of these reactions videos get more likes than the original videos they subject to react too.... By the way, this particular song (rather I should say "Epos") is an awesome masterpiece from an album changed if not my life but at least my musical taste when released and still plays at my place every week.
Quit pausing it and listen too it!!! Its better without all the pausing
I miss Roy kahn...this guy can sing, but not as Roy. He tries to emulate roy...but this is no kamelot like with Roy. And he can't write as good of songs as Roy.
Gluz - rhymes with "buzz'
