THAT WAS REALLY GOOD ,,,,, I MEAN I FULLY UNDERSTOOD EVERY STEP YOU TOOK I ONLY WISH MY TRAINING MANUALS WHERE THE SEEM . THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR NEXT DIAG 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
Dejavu! Had this exact issue with the exact e450, i really struggled with the diag but i finally just jumped a ground just like you did, Crazy , this must be a common issue, i remember even putting a post up on one of my FB groups, i was asking if the signal ground wire should have 5V on it, i never got a clear answer, good video
Love this guys videos. Can you give a walk through how to use the u scope for relative compression test etc. I know how to use pico where to find the menus in uscope
Thank you! I don't really use the uScope for those type of things I use it more like a Graphing Multimeter. I will look into the features and maybe I'll do a video on it. Thank you for watching!
Great video!! Going through the same negative 40 on the scanner, p0113.. I plan on going through the wiring diagram tomorrow. Did you just splice to another switchable ground??
hi , I have a similar problem on a 2004 expedition 4.6, I was hoping this video would help me figure it out but I had already bypassed the ground and it changed nothing. the symptom is that the IAT gives a reading that is about 145 degrees F. more than the actual temperature which stops the drive cycle tests from starting because the testing parameter on the high side is exceeded , the PCM reads it at about 248degrees . The vehicle runs pretty good , the IAT sensor is good , the maf is good , getting 4.62 v from the PCM and a good ground but i ran a direct ground straight from the battery just to make sure. The IAT fluctuates as if zero degrees =145degrees. I wrapped the sensor in ice just to make sure it was working and the IAT reading dropped to 176degrees or freezing (32degrees) +144degrees. So any ideas from anybody would be appreciated. My next move is to trace the 4.62 v. wire back to the PCM in hopes that somehow the low volt reading has something to do with it (I doubt it though) thanks anybody ,Brad
also there were no trouble codes...I have checked out all of the circuitry wiring now, I'm left with (1). faulty new part or p c m problem. Also the volts being sent back to the p c m show about .5v which corresponds to the high temp reading ....it should be about 2volts .
For you guys saying nice job do you really understand what he just did? He hacked up the factory wiring harness to make the check engine light go out. Do you want to be the unsuspecting customer who buys that truck now?
It's not making the check engine light go out its supplying a ground that makes the sensors work as intended. I also leave a wiring diagram in the car showing what I've done and how to put it back to factory.
It got repaired with the customers knowledge and consent. Repair record with description is in place therefore if the owner ever sells the vehicle he may or may not share the repair. Either way, what is your problem? Sometimes this type of repair needs to be considered as an option. Great job ALD!

Beautiful diagnosis! Allways nice to watch your systematic way of finding the root cause! 👍

Great job man! Would have taken me 26 hours a bunch of swearing & maybe even some Bud Lights?! Nah.. No way😅
no bud lights. full stop. but a coors?
😂Thanks for watching!
almost 1000 subs!!!🎉🎉🎉 congrats
Thank you! I can't believe it!
Thanks so much for your time. What's my understanding you connect pin 58 which grount from pcm to IAT with pin50 which ground to pcm?
The PCM is supposed to ground on pin 58, but internally it was bad. Instead of replacing the PCM I just jumped constant ground to that circuit.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics I got it . thank you very much for your reply
Nice diagnosis there!
Thank you for watching!
@@advancedleveldiagnostics now I have to go buy one of those Milwaukee soldering irons...
@@PhillipBailey Lol it's a great tool!

I think I went to a solid ground.

Thank you!!
Like always great diag brother . Just a simple test light and a aes wave u test advanced kit lol !
Thanks for watching! Those are my favorite kind of diags.
Did you learn this on the job or how did you learn this process?
I learned all the fundamentals from @scannerdanner, The rest comes from on the job.
Good job! Keep them videos coming. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you charge for a job like that?
I charge a standard rate for coming down and that includes 1 hour of diag.
Literally just ran into this same problem on the same truck

Do you have a link to that electrical test kit you have?
