We did our entire house (modern farmhouse) in Pure White - flat on the walls/ceiling and semi-gloss on the trim. LOVE IT. It’s so versatile, but not stark or cold. Artwork really pops against the white background, but maybe that’s true of any white.

I have a small guest room that I painted entirely with Pure White. The room has an eastern exposure and I love how it looks throughout the day. Lighting warmth has an effect on how the room feels. The ceiling light is daylight, while the side lamp for evening is warmer. Overall, Pure White can expand a small room and then take it into evening as a cozy, warm space. It’s my favorite white. ❤

What a great comment to read - yes, taking the time to play with lighting is such a great way to work with a color and make it even more beautiful!

If you use this for walls, doors, trim, and ceiling what sheen would you go with for each?

Good vid, Kylie! 2 additional things you taught me during my project with white paint: 1 paint your ceiling the exact same color (dont use generic white ceiling paint) and 2 use the same color white but higher sheen for the trim!
BTW still waiting your review and use cases of my fave...SW Ice Cube! :)

Well, hellooooo, Tony! I'm glad you picked up a few tips and I'll put Ice Cube on my list!

Im looking for a Sherwin williams exterior shade for my white and black farmhouse. What is a popular SW shade leaning more cool toned? I like Alabaster but i think its too warm for us.

    Hi Kylie,
We’re building a new house. I’m a big fan of yours and I’ve read almost all your articles, and have watched many of your UA-cam videos. Still, I’m having difficulty choosing what paint colors to use for our dream house. Our house is south-facing, but our great room & nook has 4 windows facing north. We wanted our house interior to look modern & minimalistic. We just love black & white colors.

I used aesthetic white on walls with pure white cabinets and trim. I think it is pretty. ❤

If I did a matte pure white on walls and trim , could I do pure white cabnets but in a flat finish?
    Love your content. Thanks :)

Hey! I wouldn't as matte isn't washable UNLESS it's ScuffX. And in general, cabinets aren't supposed to look matte, they really 'should' have a bit of sheen. Maybe a good happy medium is ScuffX eggshell, which has a bit more sheen than eggshell????

I'm not sure what color the builder grade white shaker cabinets that everyone is getting.. but it looks like it has extremely high lrv. Does that mean I should match the walls and trim to the high lrv of the white shaker cabinets? TIA, great videos

You definitely can! Of course, you can do a new white, but expect the white of the cabinets to show your new white's undertones (which are USUALLY yellow).

I have a Jack & Jill bathroom with no windows. I'm going to do Pure white on the walls, trim and ceiling (different sheens) but then a board and batten accent in BM Revere Pewter. Does Revere Pewter go with Pure White? Thank you in advance, love your channel. ❤

If my walls and trims are pure white and my base cabinets are white oak coloured, what cream or white colour should I paint my upper cabinets ?

    • @KylieMInteriorsPaint
      @KylieMInteriorsPaint  6 днів тому

I would stick with Pure White - cream cabinets are a tough go and don't suit many countertops.

My cabinets are an off-white, creamy white. Can i do Pure White in the walls and ceilings? Thank you

Oooo, i wouldn't. Pure White could look dingy and off. It will also make the creamy white look more yellow in comparison. You might find this helpful... www.kylieminteriors.ca/the-16-best-wall-colours-for-cream-cabinets-trim/

Would you recommend this pure white paint if you have dogs? Currently, our apartment has white walls and they get dirty from the dogs rubbing against the walls when running around and it’s pretty noticeable.

SERIOUSLY, try Sherwin Williams new paint - Scuff Tuff. Truth be told, I JUST bought some for our laundry room, so I can't give you my experience yet as it's only one coat. However, I've tried BM's version, Scuff X and it's AMAZEBALLS as it's actually legit washable. Not only that, but it deters marks. Sure, it will still get dirty, but not as much and way easier to clean. Looooong story short, YES! You can also do a matte finish, which I love for walls.
