Love it! Always a great day when Rogue Element Gaming drops a battle report! Just because it was not mentioned in the video, no fear tests are required when using the "Waaagh" spell to charge, it is considered a "charge into a fresh unit" (pg. 76). (it was done correctly in the batt rep, my comment was just for those wondering)
Love the video, I used to play OaG in the sixth edition and there are two rules you do not implement that can help your tactics. The first is, that Waagh magic can be infused by fighting, so if there is a unit of orcs or goblins close to the shaman in combat, the shaman gets an extra dice. But if there is a fleeing unit nearby, he loses one dice(p. 27, armybook). Quit funny:). Also, there is a rule that if you play only goblin characters, you can have some extra goblin or nigh goblin bosses(p. 34, armybook), which can be helpful if you play magic-heavy composition (you can have BSB and still use all slots for shamans). On the other hand, especially against spooky guys the lack of orcish leadership may hurt... Keep doing what you are doing, big fan here (from the Czech Republic far, far away:))!
At 50:30, i _think_ there is no need for the orcs to do a panic test since they "ignore goblin panic" as per page 6 in the army book. Depending on if by "Goblin unit" they don't just mean the goblin infantry core unit!
Maybe it's the angle from the camera, but that Fanatic scatter at 33:53 didn't look like it clipped the other Fanatic at all. EDIT: Though, looking again, it probably would've hit the further Fanatic if not, so I guess same difference!
Your battle reports are amazing. Not only your enthusiasm and enjoying everything even what opponent is doing is amazing, but also its great place to learn how to play. I can risk saying that i learn more about how to play OaG from you than from army supplement. Take care!
Another fantastic battle report. very entertaining while im painting my savage orcs. Just a small detail to point out. Impact hits are always resolved against the rank and file of a unit. never against characters etc. As described on page 128 (3rd paragrapgh of the impact hits section). Didn't make too much difference as the boars would have gotten her anyway...
Thanks for all the great videos. They are a big inspiration. I've recently finished my first 6th ed army, and my little play group is planning to play frankenhammer: 6th Ed army books and 7th Ed rules. Keep it up mate!
Nice use of the hasslefree minis fantasy range for the VC characters! Great range of models, just ordered some more for a few of my projects last night.
I'm glad you mentioned Iggidy/Ziggidy/Zaggidy get mixed up, I've been trying to keep track of your heroes' names and thought my memory was failing me on these two 😂 but I like mixing them up just as much! New rogue element lore!
The great stuff about being a bit clueless, like an Orc.. ;) I watch, or listen - as I paint.. And then i forget most of it as I diod not watch.. So I can watch them properly again.. Makes sense? Maybe.. Keep em coming Stos, love it!
Gorgeous armies by both players, and fun to see the orks at a moment where everything works out. Most of the times it's chaos with them, and when it's not they either kick ass like this or ruin themselves totally and completely.
Very spicy game again! That must be the most disciplined and excited gang of Greenskins in the History of the Old World. No animosity, no panic, no fear, and hitting HARD in close combat.
Vampire lord (lady?) should definately be upgraded to lv3 wizard. That is one of the main reasons to take a lord instead of a count. Casting 11+ summon on 4 dice is really nice in both bolstering exsisting units and summoning new units, and it is quite difficult to dispel besides scrolling it. And those necromancers should not be in the front rank of the combat unit. Leave one of the skeleton units back and put necromancers there. Or when making an army take some zombies as a necromancer bunker that stays behind the main combat units. When those necromancers die it spells the beginning of the end for the vampire army.
Actually 10+ for Curse of years. Is not a good idea to put necromancers alone vs Orks because some of their spells can target them if they aren't in a unit. Also what I would do is to make every unit with maximum 4 miniatures per rank. They allow free attacks for the opponent and potentially less ranks for you.
Cheers mate! Because they rolled high enough that they would run through the chariots, they had to flee to the right to avoid them. As per the Annual 2002.
Great battle as always, I just love VC so much. The fact they removed separate Bloodline rules from 7th was/is such a shame. By the way do you plan on playing The Old World? Or just continue with WHF 6th ed?
Yeah, bloodlines are such good flavour! I'll definitely be giving TOW a crack when it drops. For how long, will depend on how they handle the rules/army books.
I never seen (or dont recall at least) the spell allowing to attack at a magic round.... would have been more "fair" though to allow the defender to fight back :)
Tomb Kings have a similar spell but they can shoot in the magic phase if not in combat. Also this can be casted on the screaming skull catapult allowing 2 shoots per turn.
Having never played 6th ed, is rolling for what spells are known rather than selecting (from WAP) a rule, or a table choice? Second Battle Rep I have seen of yours where you roll up spells known, and it is an interesting concept!
The spells are always random if there is no exception (such as a magic item allowing you to choose). You can swap one spell for the basic one of the lore, typically a small magic missile. Some races can choose from more lore of magic, but after you chose your lore, your spells are random. I think it is a very good concept, as you can always have your basic missile, but different compositions of spells may force you to try something new.
@@grlmgor Makes sense! I was a 40k head as a teen, never dove into fantasy regrettably. I did play a bit of WAP, hence the question as this is different from that with rolling for spells. Thanks for the insight all!
Not sure that's how the Banner of Butchery would work. Since it's "add +1 Attack to each model fighting for that turn" I assume that would need to be used when they attack normally, i.e. in the close combat phase. It certainly wouldn't let a boss attack with 4 attacks out of turn that would be a far pricier item than 25 points I think. Happy to be proven wrong it just doesn't feel right.
It definitely doesn’t feel right, but the way it is worded does seem to allow it (for the turn, not for the phase etc). It’s quite an edge case, so I would assume it’s just an oversight by GW… (or they intended it to work this way!)
@@AnthonyCarmine1000 Yeah, I'm trying to think of any other item or ability that allows out of phase actions, obv loads of spells that allow movement and fighting outside of the phase (Bash 'em lads, Waaagh, Vanhel's etc) but I feel its really explicit there. If anyone tried that at a tournament I swear to god I would definitely in my most aggressive, British way say "Oh that's how you play that? great stuff, I never thought about it that way, you're probably right" and then seethe at the result for around 26 years.
@@rogueelementgaming I agree. Not gonna come up often like this. So not a huge "problem". Reward for if you manage to pull it off so.. I have never ever seen it happen like this before. So hardly common.
57.23: Yes, you can target banshee. In addition to reasons you mentioned, banshee is not a character but a unit, so targeting restrictions doesn't apply to her.
Am I missing something here but did you just ignore the Curse of Years for the rest of the game after first round of VC? That black orc squadron would have been decimated, if you played by the rules.
@@rogueelementgaming Oh, makes sense. Seems I wasn't paying enough attention. Thank you for the answer though and keep on putting up quality content :)

Good showing for the greenskins yet again! That combat in the magic phase was hilarious... Thanks for blessing us with ever more 6th edition goodness!

Worth the wait as always. You need to find an Empire player for some truly thematic battles with your Greenskins and the new VC army!

Are you remembering to add power and dispel dice for units of 10+/20+ orcs/goblins within 12” of a shaman?
No, I almost always forget that.
19:10 When rerolling to see who gets first turn, the +1 no longer applies, not that it mattered in this game.
Oh is that so?

Great batrep as also, when your goblins wolf riders fled from the black knights how come they fled to the right rather then straight backwards?

Another fun game to watch mate
fascinating that fear didn't really play a factor. I always assumed low leadership armies would struggle...but I stand corrected
Your assumption would usually be correct. I reckon this game was the exception rather then the rule!
In turn 1 shouldnt the 1 Wolf make a panic test for loosing 25% or are zhe fearless
Undead don't panic
