Includes spoilers. The moment the boar boyz charged across the map and wiped out a unit of chaos knights without taking a single wound in return, I could hear the defeat in the guys voice. Then, as if the dice gods weren't done humiliating this poor bastard enough, they deny his chariot-mounted champion from breaking a unit of goblins and have a boar-chariot wipe out a unit of Khorne knights on its own. And then he charges his chaos lord + sorcerer + upgraded warriors into a the warboss and his black orcs and kills a single black orc in exchange for them losing the fight, running away and getting run down. Ah poor Zak, that could not have gone any worse but he handled it well. You guys play Warhammer the right way imo, there's no need to get salty. Yeah, it sucks when it goes wrong and winning is nice, but think of it as an interactive story that you are watching unfold rather being super competative. At the end of the day a lot of the game is down to the dice and they can undo a great stratergy or make a bad one work, the game is never 100% in your hands so got to treat it that way too. I wish I had more players around me that play the way you and your guests do 👍
Been looking forward to watching this all day. Two armies I love (and play) in Old World. No preference on who wins this, it'll be a good scrap either way.
No they shouldn’t. If you start in marching column you’re a prime target for bolt throwers if you don’t get the first turn. Plus you get to redress the ranks before moving, so you always have the opportunity to reform into a marching column before moving.
Nice game. In case of a failed charge (the ennemy holds and you don’t have enough movement to contact), you just need to keep the highest of the 2 charging dice, but not adding the swiftstride (orc chariot) 😉 And a very classic mistake but very important in TOW, when the chaos knight charge and miss because the fleeing unit went far, they don’t miss their charge (page 129), they do their full charge movement. So in this case, if charge dices are 4 and 2, and swiftstride is a 2, they move 7+4+2, in the rulebook even say it is NOT a failed charge 😉😉 During the combat between the gorebeast chariot and the goblins, the challenge must be issued at the beginning of the combat. See the last FAQ, the impact hits will be done on the champion only and not the rest of the unit ! and killing blow is only the gorebeast not the impact hits :)
Hi, love the channel. Includes spoilers. Man, we all feel with Zac for such a stroke of bad luck, props to him for being such a good sport. I met too many players who would become salty for less... GG to both of you! Also, notes to the rules: now, the list of OaG would be illegal, as they require 10 NG for each fanatic put into the unit (last QaA). But this is not so bad, as you disadvantaged yourself by using Ld 4, but they have horde and warband rules, and you can profit from extra Ld up to +3 (unless you are just one lucky bast... :)). I missed if you use Waaagh ability, that your general can cast on himself and his unit once per game to make them more powerful. Also, if you intend to have an orc shaman, you can put it to a small cheap unit of orc boys with bows or choppas for 50 points and get +1 to cast and get an extra unit to protect back lines. Also, I would always put musicians to the wolf gobbos as they are designed to run. I see a thematic reason for your positioning, but I would consider putting the BO boss on one side and the BO unit on the other to avoid running forward too soon. Once again, it is not crucial if you are one lucky son:). Also, as an OaG player, I enjoy mounting characters on chariots; this game is a great illustration of why this is a good move (also, killing blow and monster slayers do not bother you:)). By the way, I wonder how the unfinished game goes? When I looked at lists, I would not bet on one or the other, as the successful charges of any side can easily break the other...
