It's so incredibly refreshing to hear someone's take on this that doesn't cry blood because they have to maybe adjust their tactics a little due to changes in the game
I have mixed feelings over the incendiary breaker nerf. On the one hand, it feels justified because everyone was bringing this exclusively on bug helldive missions, but on the other, it is still the best primary for dealing with hordes. I think they should have nerfed the fire rate instead of the overall ammo count.
I like how you are the calm voice of reason on helldiver topic. A lot of people just go straight to rant when they see something is nerf without letting the patch marinate. Keeping the flame effect as it would have make the 2 new flame weapon too good vs bug. I do feel they did make the support flamethrower dirty but I expect that to change in the future when they revisit it. Overall. Solid patch. Thanks for the overview mate.
You heard him talking how the flamethrower is still viable lmao? He finds a way to explain how any weapon is usable, this is not the place for actual criticism.
I think the support weapon flamethrower only should get armor pen 5. That way it can damage chargers anywhere, but with double the time to kill compared to the pre patch one
I’m not upset to see the incendiary breaker nerf, or even really the changes to armor damage for the flamethrower. What I am in disagreement with is the changes to fire being worse at crowd control when dealing with stacked enemies. If the fire painting for DOT on terrain for enemies to walk through and die that way was much clearer to the player and more consistent, I would really love to see that change.
And the anti tank rockets made the flamethrower obsolete against bile titans while also being able to deal with chargers, your point? If only BT head hitboxes didn’t get fucked by the devs
been using the 120mm now that its cooldown is shorter so im now doing orbital gatling, 120mm, 360mm/walking so i have small medium and large shells in my build lol
The problem with Chargers is two fold: they are tanky, fast, and lethal, making it difficult to counter and they spawn way too much now. The Stalker has a similar issue, it is essentially a glass cannon, except instead of being made out of glass it is pretty tanky.
I know it'd probably be a coding hurdle but it'd be cool to see maybe like a volume scale for flames pen. Like the support weapons works the same as it did cause you have enough quantity to get around armor but the primary and secondary don't but I 100 percent understand why they didn't do that
Personally, I dont care about nerfs. The Flamethrower was made for crowd control, and I'll burn every tiny and medium bug to ashes, and let the heavy hitters take care of chargers
Thanks god your are not like the players that over exagerate the patchs and just focus on the nerf It's getting kinda awfull on the Reddit and discord with all the negativity and toxic with some peoples Imo the inciendiary breaker nerf was really okay but omg the number of peoples that will just Say it was overnerf dont understand that its still really good and was really over META They dont even talk about the tonnes of buff and QOL :/
Yep, I'm getting tired from the toxicity. The Breaker Incendiary was overshadowing other weapons, evidenced by everyone using it. And the Flamethrower killing Chargers by grilling their legs was clearly a bug. Its like people are looking for things to be upset about.
@@Echo_418So why won't you make the other weapons greater? Cuz if you logic was right we will get nothing but nerf. Put the right man on the job that's how incendiary works evidenced by everyone no one using it on bots. And about the flamethrower if it was a bug then we shouldn't kill them by this way but it turns out we could but just take longer. This proves that you are wrong.
Everyone used the incen breaker cuz it was easy to use and good at its job. They should have just taken away one mag. At least they didn’t lower the ammo count
I think it would have been better if they buffed up other weapons to match the powerlevel of the incendiary breaker instead of nerfing it to match an overall lower powerlevel for our weapons. It just feels kinda bad for our enemies to become stronger than ever whilst our weapons to fight them with are made weaker..
@@littlehagrid i hate this pov with a passion, because not only is it bad, it's also just completely wrong. the blitzer has become AMAZING, even if it wasn't "buffed", it has become my favorite for bugs everything has become indirectly buffed by the new armor sets, esp for laser cannon which ive started to love a lot more against bots slugger is amazing now too, as a close range counter sniper alternative railgun has been also indirectly buffed, with armor stripping the new impaler, to now being able to take down gunships pretty fast grenade pistol also has been "buffed", with better ammo economy later into the game you need to see the indirect buffs everything is getting, not directly stated by patch notes, but you can easily feel them in game please dont look at the single nerfs and say they're nerfing everything
i personally think releasing all this enemy content was a giant misstep for them with this game. It felt wayyyy better to just find something new in the wild when you played, now u just watch a trailer and get to see all the different enemies they added into their game in one day. It feels like they just sped up the time in the galactic war up wayyy too fast and all in one day. no way to explain in the lore of the game or anything, just "somehow... terminid returned".
My biggest issue with the patch is has more nerfs than buffs, when we needed more buffed primary weapons like the liberator ARs. They all aren't very good and I was hoping I would see some change because I'd like to be able to switch up my primary weapons more.
I don't understand this. People keep saying there is a bunch of nerfs, but it is really 1 nerf (Incendiary Breaker), and one bugfix which negatively impacts the flamethrower. And then there is a bunch of buffs: Slugger, Grenade Pistol, Guard Dog, 120 barrage, walking barrage, Blitzer, Crossbow.
@@Echo_418 I think there is a simple explanation for this: they didn't just nerf any gun, they nerfed THE meta primary for bugs. Additionally, the Incendiary Breaker's spammy nature meant that it's super easy to handle (unlike accuracy-based weapons like the Dominator), allowing a lot of players to manage difficulties that they otherwise would struggle to clear. Same with the Flamethrower: being useful against both the various weak mobs as well as melting Charger legs within seconds meant that it was a popular pick to counter *most* bug types you can encounter. Now that it doesn't do that as fast anymore, I think it's reasonable that people are upset (probably even more because it makes it look like they're fixing it to avoid further controversy when the primary flamethrower drops in the upcoming Warbond). Then you have to consider that one of the recent statements regarding balancing was that Pilestedt as the new CCO said that he thinks 'time-to-kill' is too high. And the next thing people see in the patch notes is that two of the most popular bug weapons get nerfed, and fairly hard in the Flamethrower's case. Who can blame the players for getting frustrated at this point?
@MaXiMoS54 I love the Sickle too, but I also fell in love with the Diligence CS for bots. You feel the ammo economy for sure, but 1 shotting Devestators in the head is so satisfying. I kind of switch between those two generally. Actually, since I normally use the AMR with the Sickle for bots, Diligence CS and Laser Cannon is a similar combo. For bugs does anyone know if the Scythe is better now that it sets things on fire? I don't play bugs a lot

Honestly yeah, hey should buff more weapons so I hope theres another big balance patch coming, but I feel also like people are over reacting with the ammo nerf a bit
A lot of comments are blaming the community for overreacting to nerfs but i think the community has a right to complain. Why is the breaker Meta? Because most other weapons suck. Why not buff the other weapons instead of nerfing? The problem is with the miscommunication of arrowhead. "TTK is to high" "We are done nerfing" Also if the flamethrower was a "bugged" don't leave it in the game for 2 months. People get used to such things if it was a "bug" Fix it within a week or take it out of the game until it works correctly. Don't blame the player base. Arrowhead made a big mistake nerfing the flamethrower right before the next warbond. RIP HD2 within the next year or two if they keep making such mistakes.
After the incenbreaker nerf I was legit just waiting to get to the buff notes, which there were barely any for primaries. Complete fck up to nerf it and not buff anything else other than reverting the slugger changes
@@s2wuolf508 They did actually buff the laser weapons but for some reason it's not in the notes. Scythe, Dagger, Rover and Laser Cannon now set fire to their targets after a second or so of focused fire.
@@s2wuolf508 oh yes. Enemies take the same amount of damage from being on fire regardless of what has set them on fire. The addition of fire damage gives a noticeable TTK improvement. For the scythe and dagger especially it lets you set an enemy on fire and then stop shooting at them and let them burn to death while focusing on another target, conserving your "ammo"
Thank you for being the only HD2 streamer I've seen so far that isn't salty over the fire/incendiary breaker changes. Good takes.

To not make the new weapons too good , decided to nerf and make the old get worse. Hmmm what an absolutely Smart 🤓

Agreed for the flamethrower. It made every antitank weapon obsolete vs chargers which never made sense

Nerfing the Flame weapons before a flame themed warbond releases is a pretty goofy idea. Its almost like they don't like money lol
