Dear EV Clinic Thank you very much for the video. Do you know, if it is possible on VW vehicle to upgrade the battery from 9.9 to 13.3 kWh. I red that the dimensions as well as connectors are same for both battery.
Very useful video. Can you share what you charged the customer for labour and parts and how long it took? Mine has been with VW (UK) for four months and counting after my GTE wouldn’t start up. They keep saying ODIS needs updating… 😔

Which is perfectly ok. There are now second hand batteries available for a few thousand. Your last line was "chose petrol or electric, not hybrid". Could you pls elaborate why? If batteries are a way to put hands on customer's savings, won't be worst on pure electric cars? Thank you. Nice video btw.
Hybrid cars have by far the most complex engine and transmission combinations. Depending on the power, battery state, temperature, the electric or gas/Diesel engine engages. Technically both engines are meant to be used from 0-100 km/h, so you can either crawl with the combustion engine on at 8 kmh or drive in ev mode at 90.. Full EVs on the other hand don't have all these problem. Full electric engines usually have around 3000 less moving parts integrated so they are the simplest engine versions from that perspective. Now on 98% of all EVs it's not the electric engine that you have to worry about because they might last 400.000 - 600.000km easily. There are enough Tesla Taxis that have done that :) it's the battery at the end of the day. But even the big batteries have no problems usually lasting around 13 years. Sure some cells might go bad on that way, just like with a mobile phones. But that doesn't you can't go anywhere it just means that you might not have 450km of range at beast maybe just 380km after 10 years. So like I said it's the complexity of having both engines working together that makes owning a hybrid for a longer time. Service is prior and most importantly avoid the European Hybrid since they don't have any experience nor were they interested until 2017 when everyone screamed for a green alternative.
@@chriskonte1909thanks for this and i actually agree with your point regarding the longevity of a full EV verses the complexity of a hybrid. I’m actually considering purchasing a 2018 GTE advance, however after hearing and reading so many problems i must say I’m definitely very skeptical now. The batteries just don’t seem to last the test of time, where then the engine takes all the load and no doubt your then faced with further problems mechanically. Lots to think about, thanks
What about Toyota or Honda, would you also avoid buying one of their hybrids? I'm asking since their electronics is also much more reliable in regular cars, at least compared to European brands. P.S.: Great seeing you make videos, I hope you become famous and get enough "sponsors" to buy as many EVs as you wish.
So here's the little Hybrid 101: Don't get a hybrid if you wanna safe some money. For environment readings sure, but not because you're gonna safe so much more gas. Hybrids consume much more fuel when they are running on their combustion engine. VWs Golf Plug in Hybrid has a Turbo engine so all that on and off strains the engine a lot more. Toyota and Honda mainly use full-hybrid systems meaning they have a small battery that doesn't need recharging but has a max electric range of 3 miles. Now thanks to recuperative braking, letting go of the gas pedal and the engine, it charges itself you and it's the simpler system You will have less problems with a Prius or Insight or even a CR-V or RAV4.

They (pouch) are absolute crap for any serious automotive purpose. Best cells on planet earth are cylindrical cells, then prismatic.
