Guangdong and Canton, best rice dishes and seafood while Hunan has chicken nailed and Sezchuan for stir-fries. Northern provinces for noodles and BBQ, though with Mushu pork and beef ribs alike being a favorite atop chow mein with hot oil and scallions. Chinese food is great, both the American kind from the el cheapo buffets and the real deal, especially when done right even though it can't really be done wrong. :)

Yes, usually it's frowned upon to eat the meat from the soup. As all nutrition and tase is gone. But I also eat it, a little bit of chilli oil and soy sauce, goes down a treat 👍
The HD Channel - Vlogs, Reviews & Stuff. Are you saying all proteins in the meat has gone to the soup? Then what's the remaining meat made of? It's still physically there.
Slo Mo Yes the meat is still physically there, but any nutritional value has gone into the soup. Hence the reason, why most Chinese people won't eat the "left overs"
How do you know when the fish is done? When it's eyes are popping out lol that was funny 😂 Awesome video! Super authentic and really cool to watch 😄 Keep up the great content 👍🏼
Great fun video. Thanks for a peek into Chinese culture. She's totally right about the broth. I make bone broth all the time. Put the bones in a crock pot, cover with water, add a tablespoon of cider vinegar and cook on low for 3 days. That little bit of cider vinegar draws all the nutrients out of the bones. I do beef bones (gotta be grass-fed) and chicken bones. When you do chicken bones they come out very flexible like rubber because all the calcium and collagen has been leached out into the broth. Bone broth is one of the healthiest things you can drink.

So Thank you Vivi and hubs. Please make more cooking videos❤🇺🇸
A friend steamed fish a lot (freshly caught trout and things from local rivers and lakes), using a bamboo steamer, but he always steamed the fish outside the house because it would make the kitchen reek of fish.

it's to clean and remove some of the starch
american here and i usually wash my rice too unless i am cooking something that requires the starch
Im hispanic and live in America i NEVER wash my rice.. but im going to start, from this day forward!
Cheli G yea you should because those machines they go through you don’t know what’s in them AND they could have never washed the rice
Suga spice and everything nice Lol You are indeed correct ! My dirty rice days are OVERRRR!!! Thankyou for this wisdom
Fried rice is our thing - Guangdong People. That was hilarious when you put that on the screen.
haha glad you picked up on that
Guangdong and Canton, best rice dishes and seafood while Hunan has chicken nailed and Sezchuan for stir-fries. :)
I really enjoy listening to Vivi talk. I especially love to hear her say "usually" and "actually" :) she's too sweet... it's amazing to me how different authentic chinese food is compared to what we call chinese food in the u.s.

Sounds suspicious. Can I see the science behind this? :)
The HD Channel - Vlogs, Reviews & Stuff false. Most nutrients are insoluable
weird tho, my parents always told me to eat the stuff in the soup
How do you know when the fish is done?
When it's eyes are popping out lol that was funny 😂
Awesome video! Super authentic and really cool to watch 😄
Keep up the great content 👍🏼
That is funny why? It's disturbing. Imagine that being a cat or dog or human. Still funny?
It wasn't funny. The poor animal was suffering.
I am awaiting the Chinese startup company "Vivi's Prune Juice Company"
Great fun video. Thanks for a peek into Chinese culture. She's totally right about the broth. I make bone broth all the time. Put the bones in a crock pot, cover with water, add a tablespoon of cider vinegar and cook on low for 3 days. That little bit of cider vinegar draws all the nutrients out of the bones. I do beef bones (gotta be grass-fed) and chicken bones. When you do chicken bones they come out very flexible like rubber because all the calcium and collagen has been leached out into the broth. Bone broth is one of the healthiest things you can drink.
This might be my favorite video that you've done.
I have to agree.
This was a great video. I loved the family "home movie" vibe it had :)
Thank you Vivi for showing what a real Chinese meal is
I think this might be one of the best videos done on this channel.
I'm glad I'm not a fish.
nope, your human.
True, I am human, vegetarian and a Pisces.
Choose one you greedy fuck.
Calforrai - Sorry honey, I got three for one.
lol
"savage!" Haha love it, great video you two.
This is one of the BEST cooking videos right now!
She is Awesome!
This is more than an average chinese home cook meal. I am from Hong Kong and so is my wife. Watching this I realise I've got a raw deal. C-Milk you are lucky man. Vivi is a terrific cook with a bubly personaility. She should start her cooking channel.
Loved the video, Vivi I bet the food is amazing!
Gordon Ramsay gots some competition
Specifically the person who didn't want to be on camera, Gordon may be hell in the kitchen but I've never seen him toss a fish in a bag and beat it to death
Gordon is a fine chef, but he knows next to nothing about Chinese food compared to her.
Lol, my parents are from Guangdong and this is so accurate to what we eat for dinner!!
Viv is such a sweet lady and entertaining not just the cooking that story about your mom 😂 so funny the different cultures can be funny brought together.
Yea, basically that's a chinese dinner. Soup, meat, veggie, and of course rice. I mean how can you not have rice?! How are you going to fill up?!
It's ok to not eating rice if you get used to it. Many young girls never eat any rice/bread/noodles to stay skinny.
Northern chinese dont eat rice everyday.
Northwestern China it's a crapshoot on whether it'll be rice or noodles. Plus there are way more potatoes in the northwest.
Personally I agree with you Janice.
in my hometown where is in north west of china people mainly eat noodles instead of rice as their staple food
Hello from California! I'm a new subscriber! Loved this video, very insightful. Had no idea that the Chinese added rice vinegar to their rice and that's why it tastes so good, I would ask my Chinese coworkers about how they prepared their rice and NO ONE mentioned this! So Thank you Vivi and hubs. Please make more cooking videos❤🇺🇸
Thank you so much!
Hands down, your best video yet. Thank you both for sharing this. Just awesome.
A friend steamed fish a lot (freshly caught trout and things from local rivers and lakes), using a bamboo steamer, but he always steamed the fish outside the house because it would make the kitchen reek of fish.
Very interesting to watch.
6:19 *C-milk:* Is this normal to get/have blood all over your kitchen in China?
*Vivi:* Yeah... (face is priceless)
The baby test is my favorite thing
