The table saw reaction was everything
I'm excited that Beal jigs will now be available from Lee Valley.
WoodPeckers's bevel gauge is actually, Blue Spruce's bevel gauge as they were bought by WoodPecker.
You said all that needed to be said about the powermatic armor glide. I can guarantee i never have and never will need a coating like that on any of my cast iron.
Ben, of course I have a corner chisel. And of course I haven’t used it in years. A silly, rookie-year purchase.
Why didn't I see that one coming?
Bought one when just starting out many many years ago... never used it... Gave it to a friend just getting into woodworking and got such a thrill at how happy he was to get such an amazing tool! I trust it will be passed on to someone else in due time!
Hi Ben!
I've owned 3 different quality levels of corner chisels. Always thinking that if I bought a nicer one it would make a difference. I never use any of them.
Lee Valley is on fire!
Love my corner chisel for squaring up routed mortises. Never realized I was unique in this way.
I've used that Osmo brush cleaner. It's basically ultra refined mineral spirits. The more you refine it the more VOCs you remove and the less damage it will do to organic substances like natural bristle brushes and skin. At least that's my understanding of it. It is rather expensive, so still keep normal mineral spirits on hand and switch back and forth depending on the task.
Your ability to stay mostly straight-faced as you cover some of these tools is admirable. But, hey, justifying the purchase of a $750 random orbital sander is a cinch, right?
If you used one every day and made money doing it... heck ya! -Ben
Corner chisel is a great tool to have. Just don't ask how to sharpen it.
But Ben, without Katy, how am I gonna get my obscure fact about a platypus or some other creature?
I just got a notification from Lie Neilson #48 back in stock (3/4”) $285.00. I have to say I may have to pass on that. A little pricey
