I hope you all liked this video. It was alot of research and work but I think the end product was worth it! Make sure to follow Gavin on twitter, this would've taken ALOT more time if it wasn't for his help! twitter.com/komvgc
Came from tiktok. Even though I’ve never played vgc and haven’t touched competitive since Gen 6 smogon, I’ve found competitive history interesting This video was well made, props to everyone who contributed!
The opening statement caught me so off-guard lol. Great video breaking down the weather over time! I think you did a great job weaving humor into the informative content, and your delivery of the script felt very comfortable and professional. I would love to watch more videos like this!
This was a great look back at previous gens. My first look at rain was in 2018 with Kyogre Xerneas being somewhat common. It’s super interesting to see that manual rain was the beginning of that strategy back in the day. Great vid!
This was fun to watch despite pretty much knowing everything that was mentioned, good summary and editing! More long form content is something I personally would really enjoy seeing
This video popped up in my recommendations, I haven't seen any of your videos before, but you definitely earned my like and subscribe. Looking forward to more videos like this
Hey amazing Video I love content like this! Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you mentioned the changes to turn order and speed in Gen 8. Since they get recalculated mid-turn now it does change the power of abilities like Swift Swim and things like Max Air Stream for Kingdra especially in VGC. I'm not sure if it was a net-positive for rain (since other teams can use that to their benefit as well) and noone will ever know for sure but I do think it's worth a mention.
Gen 3: Drizzle and Drought are powerful abilities tied to Pokemon that can end our region as we know it. Gen 5: Using the power of the dreams, we can encounter Pokémon with abilities never seen before. Gen 7: Fuck it, Pelipper and Torkoal have it now.
Thunder can’t miss in the rain, but that’s just unique to thunder not every electric move! There’s plenty of things about rain that we didn’t have time to cover Pokémon is a very deep game after all
What about TopOgre? That was pretty big throughout 2010 as well? Additionally, why are you only covering Worlds? There are several other great rain teams that could’ve also made the list like Alex Ogloza’s victorious Scarf Politoed team at the 2014 US Nationals.
Hearing you say “hippo-down” instead of “hipp-ow-don” killed me
Same 💀
I swap pronunciation nearly every time I say it
Hip-pow-don
Get better soon!
I was gonna make a Fur-raw-thorn comment but despite enjoying rain, it was never mentioned.

The Video is good and all but whenever you were showing your Face it looked like you were looking at some kind of Video Script instead of the Camera
The weatherman is backkkk
We’re so back

I really like the way you scripted this video. The writing is nice. Great job on the research as well.

would you look at that! I was just looking to make a rain team in radical red lol
Sun is best 💪
Then make sure not to miss the sun video 😎
What is the site with the historical competitive teams?
Terrain vs Weather which is better?
They serve pretty different purposes but that is an interesting thing to think about
Hey, doesn't Electric type moves get a 100% accuracy rate in Rain?
Thunder can’t miss in the rain, but that’s just unique to thunder not every electric move! There’s plenty of things about rain that we didn’t have time to cover Pokémon is a very deep game after all
@@skrawvgc Ohh fair fair. I coulda swore it was all electric moves, my apologies! Thanks for the info :)
It's hippowdon not hippodown
The reason I downvoted this video is because partway through it I was asked to upvote it. I hope that's some constructive criticism.
Sand please:)
Fo drizzle my nizzle

TopOgre was a popular archetype! This video honestly could have been 4 hours long so a lot had to be cut
@@skrawvgc Like I added just now, why are you only covering Worlds?
Storm Drain Gastrodon completely Shuts down Rain during the Sword and Shield Era , In SV , Nobody is using rain
I see you are a man of culture with that Vic Dibitetto clip🫡
