    What Yvie shared about AS7 is brutal. Clearly on AS7 the judges didn't even bother to learn what the queens had accomplished since their original seasons. Shocked and saddened that Yvie had to go through this. Great interview!

    one of Yvie's most compelling traits has always been how authentic she is; I think that's what draws fans so much to queens like her or Adore or Katya, so the fact that they presented such an inauthentic version of her experience on AS7 is so sad to me. Even before watching this interview I was ready to die on the hill that we were robbed of Yvie Oddly lip syncs on AS7, but hearing that that's about the same amount of respect they gave her art the entire time is much worse. She (and all the winners) deserved better

      But as long as she’s always seen as the nice poor kid who was picked on from Season 5 and won - and teenagers go through angst and being bullied - Jinkx Monsoon will always be seen as an avatar for that time in one’s life.

    Yvie- I know this will probably never actually reach you but I am one of your biggest fans. I’m a trans person who is interested in drag but I never thought I could do it bc I’m disabled. But seeing you on the show gave me so much hope and joy. I know you think you didn’t come across well (and that is so tragic to hear😢) but you literally are my hero. you saved my perception of drag and disability and how they CAN intersect and work together! Your line “Don’t call me weak, I put the ‘able’ in ‘disabled’” in the talent show number on AS7 was my favorite line i’ve ever heard on RDR bc it hits so close to home. I love you, Yvie, and you are such a joy and inspiration to me. Keep doing what you’re doing, girl!! i’m a proud “queerdo”, and all hail the Queen!! ❤❤❤

    Yvie deserved so much better on S11 and AS7. I agree with her feeling like she wasn’t shown properly. Like it’s obvious that production didn’t know what to do with her genuinely and when to give her the praise and respect and the W. Same with Raja.

    • @zootmoe
      @zootmoe 8 місяців тому +13

    • @Chasfondue17
      @Chasfondue17 8 місяців тому +4

      You feel sorry for her because they gave her the win in S11 and showed her only in a positive light in AS7? It's a reality - competition show, it could have hardly gone better for her. I'd loved AS7 and was so happy that everyone got the opportunity to shine. But the bickering of some queens after the fact was annoying.

    • @JoseSena-gs4tz
      @JoseSena-gs4tz 8 місяців тому +5

      @@Chasfondue17 I actually feel bad for her because you can tell in S11 that they didn’t know whether to give her a good or bad edit in the story and didn’t see her as winner potential more like runner up. She is the only winner with one shared win. A lot of us thought Brooklyn would win. In AS7 it further showed that production didn’t know where to fit Yvie in the puzzle. I hope that makes sense I get it’s a Reality TV show, but you also don’t wanna give off the impression that a certain character with importance like Yvie Oddly as a winner to feel off in the story

Ann3cy stuff aside (and grooming and SA totally isn't aside, just dont want to address it this second) we have her on video *crying* because she can't say the n-word. Honestly I think it may have been a case where she was surrounded by "Yes Men" until it was way too late: early in her career she needed to be confronted that the derogatory and offensive language used by him, a cis white man isn't "funny" or "edgy", it really bothers people. But I can't say I feel too bad for her either.

    Yvie was very much not appreciated on AS7, we might have not seen the negative critics but she was clearly not celebrated enough smh

    27:40 no no no, what the hell. That critique doesn't even make sense. It's more of the same "inner saboteur" shit they say to justify kicking ppl off the show when they can't find any real reason to.

    This was an incredible interview, so much love for Yvie! AS7 was fun to watch and I'd love a second all winners. But hearing how badly WoW fumbled the bag behind the scenes, I fear that we won't see a second one. As Yvie and others spill on how poorly they were treated and more winners hear about it, why WOULD they want to sign up for that?

    I think they didn’t air the critiques to protect the judges from the fandom.
    That’s really horrible to say and not a critic anymore.

    No questions about disability! Really wanted to hear what she had to say about life with EDS, as i have it too and am now a wheelchair user.
