Oh man... a whole week with Sega clones :)). if you hadn't made the comparison, I could say that the fake consoles sounded decent enough for a chinese knockoffs. Congratulations on the attention of detail to the creation of the list of cartridges for testing all fake sega consoles and for the audio comparison. :)
These chinese engineer's need to start updating these systems. My suggestion would be USB C, HDMI 1080p, FPGA chip, SD card reader and better plastics. We don't need control pads...they can cut cost by not doing those terrible controlers. I know that would be a bit more cost to produce, but it would be closer to a Mega Sg or Super NT
I have this exact model Chinese mega drive clone,yet do not have any audio issues with it. Yes I have an official mega drive in one room connected to a CRT TV (as it should be)yet this little device sits behind the smart TV in the sitting room should I fancy some Sega goodness. For only £20 with shipping , I think it's a bargain 👍

Haha, Good video. I recently bought a used fei hao (pronounced fay how) for about 7 dollars US. It's good for game compatibility. The video and audio are ok for the price but the controllers are not good. I've seen some Mods on Chinese Mega Drive forums swapping out the video for S video.
I will say the Fei Hao was much closer, despite the audio being off. I'm guessing the clones don't use the original audio chips. Having a dedicated chip makes a big difference versus letting the CPU handle it. I'm reminded that the SNES had a better audio chip and what nightmare it'd be to clone the SNES lol
They really can't emulate that Yamaha sound chip. Well...either that or the equalization is off and isn't optimized. It sounds like there is way too much treble and no bass.
Too much mid-range as well... and from the examples used, it sounds Mono only.... original MegaDrives are cheap enough, and really, the only other systems to come close are that last (2018?) iteration of the AT@Games (the one with the SD Card slot), and of course Sega's own Mini Classic..!

These fake consoles just can't emulate the sound of the Yamaha chip used in the sega Genesis/Megadrive they get close but that is all we can expect from these Chinese fake Genesis/Megadrives.
Another cheap Chinese clone system, another hard pass. If I'm going to buy a clone console, it better have HDMI and work with all my games. But I already have original hardware with HD Retrovision's Genesis component cable so I'm happy.

If testing the Everdrive, you need to try to load a game from scratch. Many clone systems can show the menu but can't load games.
