I have not experienced this issue. I would say download DDU and do a clean uninstall of the drivers. Then from there, you can google GeForce Experience and download that.
The overlay was actually causing me to LOSE performance. When I was playing FH5, I noticed the game was running far worse than usual. I did a benchmark with and without the overlay and these were the results: 1440p ultra, DLAA, overlay on: 86 FPS Overlay off: 92 FPS That is nearly a 7% drop in performance which is rather significant!
Interesting. I haven't noticed this but I also wasn't overly looking for this either. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm curious now if this is game specific or what? I know the APP is in beta. So there are definitely some kinks to work out with it.
It's quite possible that the Nvidia overlay has additional performance costs compared to Afterburner/CapFrameX/RTSS/HWinfo64. Hopefully, they can improve that very soon. I do wish they would add a micro stutter rate metric like AMD has on their overlay.
So no to bloatware. This is not a good thing. Control panel may look old but it worked all this time exactly how it should. The new app is unneeded bloat with good features hidden away.
What do you define as bloatware? To me, this new Nvidia app would be bloatware if it was in addition to the control panel and Geforce Experience. But it's not. It's a replacement. I explained this in the video. The ultimate goal is to replace the control panel AND Geforce Experience. I view this as a good thing simply because 1 app is better than 2. The remaining features or functions that are not yet in the new Nvidia App should be ported over later. It is a work in progress. That is why it says BETA. You don't have to use it though.
@@x8jason8x I think he’s coming at it from the standpoint of “yay another app to install.” I do agree we have too many apps and such. However, to me, this is better. No login required. One app instead of two. Those are wins in my opinion and completely unexpected from Nvidia.

pls help i have a 4090 and wanna try out the rtx HDR but it dont show in the new beta app i have already ddu my drivers and reistalled it still nothing unplugged all monitors still nothing any fix?
Are all monitors HDR compatible monitors? If not, then unplug the non-HDR monitors. Also, make sure HDR is enabled in the Display settings.
when i download it , it says there was an error with the nvidia app so i cant open it at all and i already used DDU , rebooted , reinstalled the app and nothing worked
Do you have problem with installing drivers? I had this problem 10min ago, took me 3h to figure it out.
no the drivers installed fine @@WhatTheFuckkIsThis
@@WhatTheFuckkIsThisDid you figure it out?
@@ErockOnTech Yes i did, had to go into safeboot so NOTHING else than windows were running. Just then i was able to install the drivers, after that i was able to update my drivers as usual.
Adrenaline have been a big reason for why i have been so happy with AMD, adrenaline still looks way better, but this is a huge gap closer, and takes away a big part of the appeal for AMD
Hey Lek long time! I hope you are doing well! Yes, AMD has lead the way here. I give AMD a lot of credit. Pretty soon, the conversation will be how similar AMD and Nvidia are instead of how different.
@@ErockOnTechi still watch and comment!
i hope AMD closes the performance and reputation gap to Nvidia, having more even competition in the field is good for all of us! i hope Intel and hell, even moore threads catch up as well!
@@lek1223 Thank you! I really appreciate it! Yeah I hope AMD closes the gap as well. Healthy competition is good for consumers.
We desperately NEED competition in the GPU market, sadly I don’t think Nvidia even sees AMD as competition, they are just that far behind in all aspects :( tired of Nvidia being able to charge whatever they want, but since they make the best GPUs with the best features/software, nothing is changing…
Looking for some help guys.. I did my windows HDR calibration on my 77 inch S90C.. the results were 1280 nits.. however, when I go into the nvidia app, i can't increase the HDR past 800.. does anyone know I could do? Thanks
It could be a bug. The app is in beta after all.
After installed this app few months, i have problems, i use 2 monitors in certain times shutdown but the pc is still running, to solve this its force reset pc, i cant install old graphics drivers because pop up a message to say there are app isntall now, anyone have same or similar problem, im fustrating for this problem
I have not experienced this issue. I would say download DDU and do a clean uninstall of the drivers. Then from there, you can google GeForce Experience and download that.
why can't I set 120 fps, I can only choose 30 or 60
I'm not sure. I was able to just fine. Is your display 120 hz or higher?
@@ErockOnTech yes, i have 144hz monitor
@@ErockOnTech Maybe the problem is with my video card? I have 1080
@@igorkovbel5259oh yeah.. that is definitely the issue.
The overlay was actually causing me to LOSE performance. When I was playing FH5, I noticed the game was running far worse than usual.
I did a benchmark with and without the overlay and these were the results:
1440p ultra, DLAA, overlay on: 86 FPS
Overlay off: 92 FPS
That is nearly a 7% drop in performance which is rather significant!
I agree, no to bloatware.
This is made to interface with your GPU. Do you know something everyone else doesn't?
@@x8jason8x I think he’s coming at it from the standpoint of “yay another app to install.” I do agree we have too many apps and such. However, to me, this is better. No login required. One app instead of two. Those are wins in my opinion and completely unexpected from Nvidia.
@@ErockOnTech I just think it's strange to label something bloatware without actually having used it, or specific data that shows such. It's quite a bold claim, I'm no fan of nVidia either, but I'm not so biased that I'll write something off as bloatware before I can prove it is.
@@x8jason8x Well said. I agree 100%! I’m not sure who is an Nvidia fan these days. We have Nvidia users. But that’s not the same as a fan. Nvidia has really pissed off a lot of gamers. That’s why I was so surprised by this app. It actually improves some things in a semi pro consumer way. I couldn’t believe it. That’s also why I was excited to cover the app. I figured for once we could be positive about something Nvidia related lol 😂. I guess I was wrong.
If only AMD can make amazing GPU features as good as their app. Haven't found anything that will convince me to join team red again.
I’m still using Nvidia in my personal PC. But AMD has come a long way for sure.
windows auto HDR works well... RTX HDR, not so much for the games i've tested
I’ll have to try Windows Auto HDR. Thanks.
if it ain't broke don't fix it. Nvidia Control Panel is old but it does the job. Everything is right there in 1 single tab. I don't need to go through menus to find shit. And if I want to go deep customization I just open Nvidia Inspector and change them there. I don't need a flashy UI with toggle buttons. Thankfully they aren't getting rid of the nvidia control panel for years.
Nvidia control panel is not one tab. It’s multiple hyper links. To suggest you don’t have to click around and look for settings is just disingenuous. But to each their own. Like you said, Nvidia control panel is still here.
@@ErockOnTech manage 3D settings is all in a single spot. I guess you could technically call it 2 if you could the game specific settings but they look exactly like the global ones and are also included in the 3d game settings main tab
Ever since I installed this app, my GPU is running out 100% in my game crashing first descendants
The moment I installed my new GPU, I missed my RX6950XT. I loved Adrenaline ❤

Hey they did it first with the no login requirement. Shoutout to AMD!

Oh for sure. AMD Adrenaline is still ahead. But they have been doing it way longer. Nvidia just started. That is why I gave AMD credit in the video. I think AMD paved the way for this. I'm just surprised Nvidia finally got on board.

Yeah, because what we want is more bloat and ads because, ugh old and ugly ewww.
This is just another way for them to take over your PC and throw more ADs at you!
Respectfully, how do you figure that? They are allowing you to NOT login. They have never allowed that before.
Not in the slightest kid.
They "fixed" something that wasn't broken and WORKED! I didn't need more bullshit in the driver UI! I do NOT let Nvidia touch my games or make any changes! I set my settings 100% and I don't let anything touch the settings of my games or display!
It sounds like you never used GeForce Experience or the Nvidia Control Panel. If that’s the case, then simply don’t use the Nvidia App and everything will be the same for you.
Dislike cuz I hate everything about this and I'm not interested in ANY of this! I was fine with it how it was and I'm NOT going to like the new shit. No better reason to go to AMD!
Well, I gave credit to AMD. Also, the app is in beta. So you still have the control panel and GeForce Experience if you want them. Those apps won’t be obsolete for some time. Lastly, the new Nvidia app literally gives you more freedom, no login requirement, and simplifies the experience by only using one app instead of two.
Aaand here's a "like" to offset an underserved dislike (IMO). I, for one, really appreciate this video because I was unaware of the app.
Subbed, as well - Thank you.
@@tomh.648 Thank you very much! I really appreciate that and that’s very kind of you!
Hahaha, This is a reason to never go to AMD. This new nvidia app with the FREE RTX HDR is amazing to me and i have always prefered nvidia anyway. Understand its your oppinion, but just because you dont care about it doesnt mean you should shit on it and say amd is better in a matter of words. This ai stuff is awesome, but if you enjoy yout games without hdr and not looking as good then fair enough. Your loss
Its so funny how you cannot please some people though. To my understanding, nearly every nvidia user has been demanding an app all in one forever and now they finally do it which makes sense and is amazing, yet people like twiz just doesnt see the bigger picture. oh well. @@ErockOnTech
