Vince Foster was a decent honourable man plunged into the shark waters of Washington DC. A respectable lawyer with a successful career in Arkansas, he left everything behind to follow his childhood pal Bill Clinton ( at his request) at the White House after he became president. He was profoundly depressed, apparently, struggling to adjust to his new life in Washington, facing harsh criticism from the media for some of the early Clinton administration's mismanagements, unprepared for such public exposure and dealing with enormous and stressful responsibilities... the final blow came when Hillary (who was supposedly a friend and a former colleague whom he helped to hire overcoming the ambiant sexism of his law firm) humiliated him publically during a White House staff meeting belittling him as "a hick town lawyer" who would never make it in "the big time" because he dared to disagree with her on a legal issue. A week later, he took his own life on 20/07/1993 at the age of 48, leaving a wife and 3 children behind. May God rest his soul. I can't help but feel that the string of very public humiliations Hillary Clinton has endured in the years since, from the Lewinsky scandal to her 2016 national repudiation by the American people, is somehow a divine retribution for her arrogant and haughty attitude, in the early days of her husband's presidency, towards a devoted friend whom she unwittingly pushed into the grave.
