I remember the wars to try to take her down, and late night comedians making it a punchline nightly. This woman literally kicked down doors. Before her it was an old man's club. Nothing was "handed to her." She may not have had to financially struggle, but she certainly had to fight tooth and nail for YEARS to even get a shot at asking the tough questions!! What a foolish, untrue comment

In some ways, Barbara Walters reminded me of my grandmother, who was the first woman in the state of Oregon to hold a bartender's license in the 1940s, went to business school, and went into real estate, first in sales, then an agent, then a broker with her own business. She said many times while I was growing up, "I just refuse to make less money than a man."
No one can cry for this death. She had a very full, rich life for MORE than expected. She isn't crying. She's asleep, resting peacefully in the palm of God's Almighty hand. She's now awaiting the second coming of Christ, like before, like all of us. She's resting peacefully in the Lord Amen.

Enough with the beautiful crap. You don’t see men always start off by describing someone as handsome “he was a handsome, intelligent man” lol. Why does it matter what she looked like or whether she was beautiful (which she wasn’t)
I totally agree. Barbara Walters voice was strong, precise, with class but yet warm and understanding. We have lost true icons these last 10 years.
No She is scum she said it was OK that Roman Polanski raped a 12 year old and fled to France but that's OK because he was a victim of the holocaust. F Barbara Walter's
It is amazing...just the sheer number of influential people she interacted with.
Hello 👋 there, how are you doing today, happy new year.
Who will be our next Barbara Walter's?The world needs more pioneers. RIP and may you be remembered for your achievements for a woman who broke the glass ceiling.
there will be no next Barbra Walters. No one can be her. Barbra Walters is Barbra Walters
There can't be another Barbara Walters in this PC culture.
I’m from France and I know how legendary she was in America. Actually she should be one for women everywhere. She lived a full life, I mean wow, she was a force to be reckoned with. RIP
OMG, the part at the end with all the women that she helped up the ladder was so heart-wrenching and such a blessing - RIP Barbara, you will be missed for eons.
As a teen in the 70s I enjoyed watching Ms Walters and the ABC crew. RIP
Barbara Walters set an example and left that legacy that she spoke that all of the mainstream media needs to work very hard to live up to.
My favorite interview of hers is when she was interviewing Sean Connery about him slappin' some ladies! I wish Sean HAD slapped her into the new decade! You know, like POW! Then old Barb wakes up in the next decade confused as all hell.
but she was horrible human being....god I still remember that Britney interview and it was not only Britney either, soo many people she did dirty
@@HK-gm8pe hahaha that was Diane sawyer. You people have no respect for the dead.
@@bocawilliams9200grow up .
@@HK-gm8pe I actually agree with you. I really disliked the way she approached certain interviews, but I now realize that to capture her most poignant moments she had to push the envelope.
Wow I can't believe it. The legendary Barbara Walter's. She was one of the greatest TV reporters of all time. I had alot of respect for her and she was so genuine and very talented. She will be missed but not FORGOTTEN. May you be with God!!!!
Barbara is in hell interviewing Satan and Hitler right now lol .

Barbara Walters was a terrible person.
-RIP Corey Fieldman
..... Barbara Walters was the heart of ABC News ...... She was synonymous with The View, 20/20, Nightline, & her Specials ... & I feel that she has taken the magic of the network with her .... I don't think I could watch the only network I grew up with my family at home anymore.💔💔💔
Whether you like her or not, you can’t deny that Barbara Walters paved the way and broke that glass ceiling for all female journalists. #LEGEND
Absolutely incredible woman. 💔 Rest in peace Barbara. (…and ABC News, this was so nicely done. Beautiful tribute! 👏👏👏)
We need more like her who is not afraid to ask the important questions !! What A Legend Rest In Peace ❤️🙏❤️
She is & was amazing!
She has definitely left a legacy that will never be forgotten 🥰🤍
We will never forget you, BARBARA ❤️💔
This is such a touching poignant tribute to an amazing legacy! Well done
There will never be another like this beautiful soul. What you have given us throughout the years can never be duplicated. Thank u for giving yourself to us..daring to do what many wouldn't even attempt. Rest in Power!🥺❤❤❤🙏🏾🥰
She was a spectacular interviewer. Never afraid to ask the tough questions and get to the truth. RIP Im sure she left a legacy that other women are striving to achieve themselves. A powerful professional woman who made people feel comfortable talking to her.
Brooke Shields and Ricky Martin were not comfortable. Dolly Parton and Jazz Jennings didn't look comfortable in their interviews.
She interviewed so many Legend great worked peace
She lived a extraordinary life she deserves to rest now and may she relax and chill now in heaven #rip
It doesn’t work according to your opinion or anyone else’s in this comment section
We must BE
Born again- spiritually
God has a standard- Jesus Christ!
You have been such a great mentor to all of us! Thank you and RIP!
So sad to hear she’s gone! Such an iconic journalist may her soul rest in peace and never be forgotten ❤
We shouldn't feel sad; we should be proud of her. She accomplished many things and left valuable legacies for the news industry and women.
She is an icon whose memory will not be forgotten! RIP
LiAR!!!
She's a witch
A legendary American interviewer and storyteller. Thanks for asking the tough questions when nobody else wanted to. Thanks for not sugar coating the news and giving it to people straight. Thank you.
Nice tribute, ABC. My deepest sympathy to Barbara's family, friends, former colleagues, and to all who loved her. She will be missed but her legacy in broadcasting has allowed others to continue to push the industry forward. Thank you, Barbara. Rest in Power,
She interviewed all the greats! She’s a legendary woman her self. RIP Barbara Walters.
THIS was a fabulous tribute and celebration!! What an amazing legacy! May she rest in peace 🕊️
wow what a life!!!
Watta babe
Yeah, she couldn’t get enough of it.
There’s another old woman doing interviews too, she seems to be having cognitive issues. People just STOP! Go home, enjoy your money and smell the roses. Why are you still working at nearly your 100th birthday? Not because you can, doesn’t mean you must. Make space for the youngsters coming up. Al Roker is another one who just needs to chill.
Is always being in the public eyes a drug for a high???
@twingytwango6971 I get what your saying but also don't. She was just doing what she was meant to. Especially the older generation, they know nothing but work.
@@gagank478 the older generation? I’m a millennial and I think my age group and gen-Z are the absolute WORST! So lazy & entitled. They think they don’t have to show up for work and that everyone is out to get them. They constantly complain about having a boss and that they are so mean for telling them to actually do their job lol..not too mention they are crybabies and so damn sensitive.
It makes me sick.
What a beautiful tribute! Barbara is an inspiration to every woman.
She's up there now with so many amazing people. Patrick Swayze, Robin Williams, Betty White among others. Great life well lived! RIP!
My God she was the epitome of what a news reporter should be. I never missed her interviews and loved her on 20/20. Her contributions to the medium of news cannot be overstated. May she rest in peace now ❤.
She was a boss that created many jobs and opportunities! If not that she was inspirational. 🖤
This tribute was incredibly touching.
RIP
You will never be forgotten. Thank you for all you gave. Sending love to all your family and friends. Barbara Walters you will be missed. 🙏🕊️🕊️🙏
There will never be another like her…Thank you Barbara Walters, for everything. 😔
Barbara W. was one of the best interviewers I’ve ever seen and she had the ability to get people to talk about things that perhaps they might not usually speak about. Smart, classy and brilliant. RIP Ms. Walters, you will be missed 🙏
Her voice has been there since my childhood, soothing and familiar 😓💗
despite her greatness, she had a speech impediment!!
I was thinking about her just last week. Sad to hear about her passing.
She had a great life. RIP
@rvoitwhat do that mean?
@rvoit are you kidding me. did you even watch the video
The daughter, not so much.
@rvoit Are you old enough to remember? I was young but recall what a HUGE deal it was that a woman was named co-host.
Yes she did and I'm not mad at her.. God hands us all favor and she received triple portions.. may her soul be at rest
What a woman, what a life to live 👏🏼👏🏼🥰❣️❣️❣️ Rest in paradise Barb 🙏🏼~

I grew up watching Barbara Walters TV Specials and I have always had deep admiration for this stalwart. She lived an inspiring and eventful life and that should be celebrated. Rest in Peace Barbara Walters.
In some ways, Barbara Walters reminded me of my grandmother, who was the first woman in the state of Oregon to hold a bartender's license in the 1940s, went to business school, and went into real estate, first in sales, then an agent, then a broker with her own business. She said many times while I was growing up, "I just refuse to make less money than a man."
and she probably made more than most!
was she paid same/more than men for the same job? i doubt it ever happened

How do you know that? Did she have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
I don't watch ABC anymore. However, I did as a child and young adult. Barbara was an icon and I loved to watch her. She appeared to be a very classy, no non sense real woman. She seemed so dedicated to her career and it truly showed in her unbiased journalism. That attitude, dedication and compassion is long gone in her field now. I appreciate all she modeled on air. She will be remembered. May God bless her family!
R.I.P. Barbara Walters, your labor of love will never be forgotten; my prayers goes out to the family.
RIP to an amazing woman who was an inspiration to so many.

Thank you for remind me, too, Condolences to her family and friends, too;
Ah, you were lucky enough to have known her, personally!
NBC finally got it right! Rest in Peace, the Beautiful Lady that she was, both inside, and outside. She truly expressed all of the qualities of the phrases " Beauty IS as Beauty Does!" , and as she so eloquently, DID and for, as long as she lived.

The last scene of her retirement brought tears to my eyes. To see her level of influence and legacy is amazing.
