got the 65 EVOs tonight... even though the low end is massive, I can roll it off and mix tracks and then check the sub bass... amazing forward sound..can clearly hear everything... my audio interface is on one or two most of the time... got them for 500 euros the pair... thinking of getting a smaller pair or maybe adam A3X to put on the desk top... Those 50s are amazing too
ended up bringing home the 50s too as the store said I could try them out.. so both pairs are here and have been switching them up all day... the 65s are amazing, you can hear very low frequencies but I dont think its so great if you live in an apartment... they can be played very low and you can hear everything but the 50s do sound clearer because they have less low end... wondering whether to just keep both or to get some commercial speakers to check mixes on after mixing...

Those are their most budget friendly models. Focal can get easily into the 10,000 and Eve 70,000 range. They are some of if not the best speakers ever made on this earth, at least that's what I've heard from pros that have tried others.
They sounded really veiled when I tested them honestly. Same can be heard in this vid. The previous version sounds clearer. The Tannoy Reveal 502 monitors are still far superior imo and now that they're pretty old, they're so much cheaper too.
Focal monitors have like a 40 hour break in time before they sound right, they are much better than your low end and are a fine midrange monitor. Nowhere near the top end but they're decent once broken in IMO.

thats so weird! After listening the Yamaha hs, Focal sounds like there is a cutoff knob on the back on max level. I dont know if its just bc the Yamaha has so much mids and highs...but there is a huge difference

Compressed flat music without dynamic.......even your clockradio can handel that . Use dynamic music and listen to the tone color, colored by the dampings factor of the "5 speaker. When you master a voice track, can you control the voice when it sings hard or soft? Nice advertising talk but actually you don't say anything
ofc they work for that use, but arent what they are intendeduse is for. i would suggest to buy some nice hifi speakers instead if you are just using them to watch movies and listening to music. they are made for audio work (flat frequences respons) which arent the "nicest and best" sounding option. dont know about the hiss levels on these monitors tho.

I think everyone can find something in their price range BUT you can imagine how much ,,quality,, is build in a 280€ active Speaker. In the Soundclip they sound like a kitchen radio (sorry)… better save some money and buy the Neumann KH120 + youve even the posibility later to upgrade. Purchase the Sub + MA1 and you have an high quality Fullrange Setup for a pretty low price. Save Money and buy ones. Cheap Monitors sounds (mostly) cheap

you are not the only one to report they preferred the previous version sonicwise, the alpha 80 are the best of the alphas
