Nice video bro🔥🔥🔥, since your home studio tour in SA.💥💯
If I can ask a music unrelated question, are you south African? And if yes, did you fully migrate to the United States?...
Just that🙃
What software to get?
I love the song you made here, where can i listen to the full version?
@@tidesrollin5343 you'll spen equal time to understand daw you learn, how to ruin your project and restore it back.
Can you help me build my home studio?
For starters, do not get the studio monitors if you have a tight budget. Studio monitors won’t give you the real sound if your room isn’t treated.
Thank you for this advice! I was wondering to get studio headphones or monitors! I needed this I appreciate it because my room isn’t sound treated
Personally I disagree. Anything that can output High quality audio is going to help
@@Sg435 I’m with you bro I’ve used both and I still find my monitor better and my rooms not treated at all
Ha! I got busted speakers only one works n it's distorted and my CD sounds great in the car . Stop giving advice when u don't know what you're talking about
I disagree and agree monitor's are better imo it doesn't really matter if the room is untreated or not i use normal jbl speakrs in my bedreem and i find my mix is better leveled than with headphones but i do agree that if you're on a tight budget you shouldn't buy it cuz while it does help you mix better its not that huge of a difference that it would be necessary
This is amazing, most people that make these kinds of videos already are using a $5000 pc so having the computer included in the budget is amazing to see
I’m glad you enjoyed it 👌🏻
Ayoooo!! This is literally evident that you dont need expensive gear to make good music! Love all your videos man🔥🔥
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!
@@EdwardSmithMusic do you have a tlm 49 review on your channel?
That laptop was for parts or not working on ebay*
To be fair, you can upgrade the ram very very easily and ram is very cheap to buy. As long as you've got a decent processor, then you're fine. Then upgrade to 16gbs once you've purchased the laptop :)
True but My used 2018 £150 i5 HP probook has 8gig ram and still cant run Ableton 11 or several plugin sythersizors hardly at all but it runs Reason 12 perfectly which is great however not being able to use Ableton for tasks it does well and not being able to use the Native instruments and Arturia plugins is a massive problem.
Many inexpensive/used laptops are not upgradeable regarding RAM. It is something a person should confirm first, prior to purchase. I have two older laptops that I purchased without checking and I had to live with them as is (ASUS i7 and an ASUS i5). RAM on these older laptops is not guaranteed to be inexpensive either. This would be due to less stock available.
where can I get ram cheap?
Its better to get a pc its easier and you can do it at home plus its verry hard to fuck it up i got a pc for about 90 usd with 4gb ram and a ram card is cheap
hi for 3d printing rendering or just printing models online what is the cheapest cpu for fast rendering.
I’m trying to finally get into edm music creation and your channel is amazing for starting thank you so much
Sick video. I believe this could be something able to work with for people who don't use too many VSTs. If you need only 1 guitar/piano track and 1 vocal track, maybe some reverbs and delays, I think it's possible with the laptop in the video.
I actually bought a Roland audio interface it has Noise gate reduction and noise removal and it’s awesome 🤩 that’s all I needed instead of buying all kinds of stuff I just use a thick blanket for my recordings
I reeeeally like the way this video was put together man🤗, keep up the job work and blessings Edward
Thank you! Will do!
Great Video and really solid music! Love your channel!!
Very good premise for anyone that is intimidated by how expensive it is to start up a home studio. But to further expand on your setup you left out the monitor stands, as well as the XLR to TRS cables required to connect the monitors to the interface and the cable from the mic or instrument into the interface. Also it would be smart to buy a power conditioner for this setup. You’d need a total of 3 to 4 inputs depending if the interface requires an input. I would argue the power conditioner might be the most annoying but important investment so you don’t run the risk of frying your gear through an janky old power strip. This comment can come off pretentious but i do think it is worth mentioning.
power conditioner is good if you don't know how the electrics of the house are made, and it's a big risk if you're on the road connecting the equipments to dodgy power outlets
@@pedrosilvamusician Agreed, if anyone is willing to invest any amount of money into music. this is the first place to start.
I’m pretty sure the blue cables came with the interface.
You did a really good job showing how to setup a home recording studio that is affordable. Thank you for sharing. I'm a new subscriber.
Love the creativity and the camera angles bro keep it up you going crazy !
Thanks so much!!! 🙏🏻
your main setup looks great! Keep doing what you love, you are very talented!
Thank you so much!
Dope video! And you made the setup look great too🙌
Thanks so much!!!
Informative for someone who deals with music in Turkey! Thank you bro.
Glad it was helpful!
Damn bro, i bidded for the same presonus monitor set, so you were the one who won it, how small the world is, amazing pair, and amazing video mate
Haha what a coincidence 😂 Thanks for watching bro!
Great video guide man, keep it up and running! 🙌
Thanks, will do!
Great content my friend, keep up the good work!
This is incredible man how u only spent that much. Crazy How Back in 2007 I had a 64 analog mixing mixing board with 6 keyboards. Now I just have a laptop with a midi controller
You set that gear up really fast. Wow!
I am super enjoyed!
Amazing stuff you did with this movie, is for sure price did not always go with the quality.
"Good quality does not have to be expensive".
Super difficult to understand at the beginning of everybody's journey with sound.
"4GB of ram, I want to go with 8Gb of ram", is more than obvious, so again thanks for that. My favorite part is of course...
"Your PC ran into a problem..." and your golden advice which is a must to understand at the beginning-> "Just don't forget to save!"
Szakunec! As I know these principles, I am more than happy to say.... that all is TRUE!
Pozdro!
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate your support!
Am gradually putting together a studio. I admire your approach and I know I'd be all over EBay if I didn't just come up with about a thousand I can spend. I already have a pumped laptop with a I7 and a Gig memory (all SSD). Have a separate 32 inch 4K monitor. Have a new Oxygen Pro Mini as well (bought Ableton 11 outright). So, I have a thousand to buy the rest. Getting a Behringer WASP analog synth for sure and the Focusrite Scarlett 212 audio interface. The rest is still being researched.... Its fun...
yo Edward this is the type of content love this stuff, also try recording music in it and see how it compares to pro studios
This is my best video on UA-cam I've watched and rewatch this video couple of times
Nice video and editing ❤️
I subscribed ❤️
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻
Great guidance through out !!! Thanks Ed
Thanks for watching!
You are absolutely right. Inspiration matters and network to promote your work so you can achieve fame someday 😊
U really helped me, exactly what I was looking for
Aye that lil sample u did hit hard where the rest?
I love your mixing of vocals
I appreciate that! Vocal mixing video coming soon!!
I've been upgrading my gear recently and have been buying everything new. Watching him get all of this gear that is similar in quality for a fraction of the price makes me want to cry...
One thing he didn't add is the shipping. Most of the items have 20-30 dollars shipping, which easily add 200 more on top of the price of the item
Focus on the positives fam, no need pointing out unimportant things.
@@kceemarzz "unimportant things"? It creates unrealistic expectations for someone who really has that budget
I was going to say the exact same thing. You need to take the shipping into account. You can't say the audio interface is $20 if the shipping is also $20. It's an auction with 1 bid of $20 so is going to be more but the minimum is already $40
EDIT: I also forgot to add the laptop shipping, which is another $25, putting the total at $122 for shipping; a massive 35% of his advertised budget.
I calculated $97 for the shipping. So I think "....under $500" would have been a better advert
@Kcee Marzz right, I bet you do the same thing when your credit card company sends you the bill for 30% APR on all your purchases and your $35 overdraft fees on a $5 purchase. Just focus on the positive. Only blind fools "just focus on the positive". You gotta take into account ALL aspects, not just the good, not just the bad.
Amazing video! Well done!
Thank you for watching!!
Lovely video. I really liked the song, actually. You should upload it as a full video. Would love to hear the entire thing. Sounded pretty good.
Amazing video!
Curious what people's experiences have been buying used gear? I've been told that some items that are more sensitive like monitors, headphones, some synths and instruments, are very risky bc you don't know how the previous owner treated them (unless you know the previous owner and can confirm they were treated well). Then there are some more sturdy items like audio interfaces that are a safer bet buying used.
Those studio monitors are really good for the budget 👍
I just switched from pc to Mac, and Macs just work better. I never realized how awesome my midi keyboards were until the nobs worked correctly. I never luck out on used gear. this is a great video topic. The PreSonus ultimate bundle new is a great value if you're trying to cross the t's and dot the i's. for the lowest price of entry new. its 299 it comes with a mic headphones monitors interface cables and a daw. It's good for the money, but you could probably get a little bit better quality if you got the "best budget" items that are highly rated.
It's now Monday at the airport and have been binge watching since Christmas (after the party dinner).
Well done great video. I think you’re going to inspire many people. One Question, the DAW you used Cubase trail version. Can you save, live record, add instruments plugins or do you have to buy the full version?? Thanks again for making this film ❤
REAPER, REAPER, REAPER!
wow, thus amazing. in fact you did it
This is what we want ❤️
He Ordered From EBAY and products comes from amazon 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Amazons has shipping services too
Fun video. I would always recommend starting folks on good headphones only. And possibly spending more money on just a USB mic, eliminating the need for an interface. And obviously it makes it impossible to come in on this kind of budget, but the Mac Airs now have no fans, eliminating a big recording problem, fan noise in the microphone.
Cool, dude!
Good stuff,going shopping 🛍
Amazing video man
Thank you so much!!! Really appreciate you watching!!
Such a awesome topic
Like it man
Nice set up bro!
Thanks!!
Thanks for this video, I will get one set home studio
Great video. I wonder what software you used to make this cool video. Would be nice to use it to record my first recording session.
Running Reaper could have saved you some crashing issues. Its much lighter than cubase, great system overall for the price! Well done.
That's my daw
@@JustMe-ws2pe Mine too ....
I've been using Cakewalk since the 90's and now it's 100% free. Agree though Reaper is another great option. Also he could of saved a few bucks on the monitors and came in under budget. Great video still and just goes to show what you can do on a slim budget.
Loved it!
Thank you!!
i’m an artist with plenty music to record and you got me more excited to move into my new apt
Aye that song kinda lit 🔥
Wow this is awesome 🤩
Awesome stuff. Good budget buy
Cables and mic stand just out of thin air 🤪 Dope vid 🤙🏽🤙🏽
did you write that song that you recorded on your new equipment? Beautiful sound. What effects were you using on your vocals? Were you using any pitch correction? Compression?
🔥🔥🔥🔥dat sounds nice
Omg first also quality content
Fun video! 4GB of RAM is pure torture, but other than that, some great choices! Reaper is a great budget DAW.
Sometimes you can get a laptop with upgradable RAM. So when you have additional funds you can upgrade the RAM. Until then you have something to start with.
Great video !!!!!
I recently bought an M Audio Oxygen Pro 61, PreSonus audio face, Presonus headphones, JBL monitors,
mic, mic stand , mic with screen all for $175. I also recently picked up an HP Elitebook 840 G3 16 gig ram, 512 SSD, 500 Gig Hard Drive for $170 off of Ebay. It's not bad for a small budget. I'm proud !!!!
where can i listen to the full song made using this equipment, loved the demou played in the video before the laptop crashed
Man that song is dope
Awesome tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Great job.
Nice video bro. Info.... which is better studio monitor for non acoustic treated room? Presonus Eris 5 XT or Yamaha HS 5 ? Please give me your valuable comments ?
The most important thing is giving a budget to a very good laptop that can handle many layers, vst and wont freeze because when it freezes its done
Overall it's true, used gear is the way to control your budget. However, for the laptop you chose in this example, the description indicates "not working for parts only". A decent used laptop may more likely be twice that price.
I like this guy. great singer too.
Love it! Thanks for the video. Also, you’re very handsome.
I would have left out the monitors and just used headphones. And a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM (many old Lenovos could be upgraded to 12GB for not much more). Finally, I would have bought the Presonus interface new because it comes with Studio One Artist. The Audiobox is only around $100.
Great suggestions!
Yeah if it’s just you making music the monitors aren’t a necessity to start. Use the headphones and check your work in the car. Also even cheaper than eBay, check fb market place bc some people will basically give things away waaayyy under value, or even trade things 🙏🏽
The audiobox is the worst interface in its price range. Very noisy phantom power and the drivers still suck on windows after 10+ years
@@dwnturn It gets great reviews on Sweetwater. Perhaps they made some improvements?
i got the 80$ audiobox and its perfect.
great studio 👍 Where did you buy those acoustic panels with a world map mate?
0:00 lets go we both use that screensaver
I believe this video to be accurate. You can get a totally professional home studio with $1500. I'd say $2500 to make it much better such as getting an apollo solo interface, with a shure sm7b mic. The acoustic panels and bass traps you can easily make.
With places like Zzounds you can get anything you want next day at your door on a payment plan, no interest, no credit check. Its the only way I could afford my gear. 🍻
Wow, your bugging sound effect really made me believe my headphones had some problem as most of the time
Love the watch!! Casio all day 😎
Very interesting and informative content
I actually really enjoyed your song was really good 👍 👌 👏
Cables, mic stand …. Post and packaging…… but I agree, I don’t have to spend a fortune to make music 👍
Thanks for thinking of us brokies
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel 🙏🏻
Get a job
Couldn't help but notice the midi keyboard you found on eBay for $25 it said it was parts only in the title did you still end up getting that one or did it arrive working? Just curious because everywhere I look people try to sell them for more then what there worth cons of buying used
Thank you.
Well done👍🏻
UA-camrs always make three things seem easy. Reality dawns on you once you try it In reality
you are a legend, but the last bit got me laughing of an hour
I loved the song you made. I WAS SO SAD when it just stopped. I was like NOOOOOOOO.
Damn the song is epic 🥺🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice video bro
Respect!
Tbh for a computer, you can get a decent renewed Dell optiplex desktop off Amazon (comes with keyboard and mouse) for around $160 and find a used TV or pc monitor off Facebook marketplace for dirt cheap. Sometimes free. It's what I did
hey guys just a little tip for the ram laptop ram is rlly cheap but it cost to have it pre installed so for like 10 or 15 usd u could get 4 gbs and install it ur self its not all to hard just watch a vid on how to for the laptop u bought
Still, Amazing content!
Great video
Thanks!
Great video
Nice Setup on a budget
Really need a setup like this to kick start my music production career
I'm hoping I win your full home studio setup giveaway to get started
Dope content as usual
Used market in usa makes me cry. In my country buying new is sometimes even cheaper than used and almost all the audio stuff is 50-100% more expensive than in usa...
Are you from UK? Gear can be more expensive but not always, Novation for example has a UK bass and there gear cost the same in the UK as USA.
@@HOLLASOUNDS I’m from eastern europe (not EU) hahah. but I kinda can’t use Thomann because of import fees
Hey, Edward, hope you are well. Luv the studio set up. Gonna send you pic of my budget studio set up. I'll let you know costs too. and at this point all I can say, Thank the Lord for Black Friday!.
Very interesting!
