Your shelf setup is so amazing!! I've got a pregnant female so I searched and found this video - so glad I did! Hopefully I'll get some babies by following your steps. I simply just love how organised you are, it's just so inspiring!
An excellent video! Thanks for teaching how to work with this marvelous little fish. I used to remove clusters of eggs from females with a toothpick soon after spawning -- at the time I needed eggs that were just a few minutes old, so I couldn't wait for them to be deposited in plants or to drop from her. I would separate individual eggs from the cluster with iridectomy scissors and culture the eggs individually for study. I don't need eggs that young anymore. Your method is one I much prefer. Good job!
Hi Jeremy, I enjoyed this video! I found it to be very educational, inspirational, motivational, and interesting. As with all your videos and streams you do, they are the best I have seen. Thanks very much for sharing
I am glad that you do it in steps- thus can replay that portion to understand if not readily at first. Would you send/list a link to propagating Mystery Snails since I see you have them, Thanks! Good video and informative.
mary beth Mabe glad you enjoyed thank you! Yes, I have video on breeding of Mystery Snails and have talked about in many livestreams. If you search mystery Snails within my list of videos; you should find what your look good for. I'm unable to link at this point and time as I'm on my mobile device. Thanks for stopping by!
A question: after losing my male Medaka gold (cream coloured) my female continues to spawn eggs. I managed to only find two male Daisy fish. At least that is what they were called at the Aquarium shop. I don't think they look like yours. However, as both my Medaka female and these new males are from the Oryzias genus, do you think that these males can breed with my Medaka? I am finding it impossible finding the O. Latipes/Medaka males or any of these Medakas these days. I am in England and they say the shipping is not reliable with this pandemic. I have read something about , in general, that cross breeds of some fish could produce hybrid young. Does this mean they would be infertile? Anyone have any ideas?? I'd be happy if any fry are born actually. I am waiting on some eggs from the first male. Also, was that an Indian Almond leaf you use for the tannins? I know they provide anti-bacterial and anti-fungal problems with the eggs.
the_weed_ghost_1 With enough hides and a decently planted tank yes; however as the ricefish age/mature if the opportunity presents itself they will eat shrimplets and possibly the adults. If your looking for the best opportunity with shrimp yield; I wouldn't recommend placing them with this species. I would suggest endlers, limia, celestial pearl danio as some other possible options.
