Your chanel is a breath of fresh air, even though your editing isn't anything crazy. Im tired of aquarium based channels where it's just unedited or poorly edited just talking to a camera or walking around in a fish room. Most of the smaller channels are like that.
I'll be moving to zone 9. Sorry if Houston on the Gulf shore (Lake Jackson/ Freeport) Its my goal to utilize the warmer weather for some species going forward with my plans. Just no swordtails apparantly.
Yes also I’m being tortured with dragonfly larvae, they definitely had an effect on some of my Ricefish. It froze twice so I had them in the garage for the guppies. I have pulled 30+ larvae from these ponds. If you have a screen or a closed porch that would be primo. Maybe large goldfish that will eat the dragonfly larvae.
I usaully try to make it to the end of a video before hitting like. This one had at, "These are the freedoms George Washington fought for" glad i clicked on your ebay add. Thanks for the fresh content!
I find squeezing a cycled sponge into an uncycled tank, it will cycle it immediately. I've just set up a 25 litre quarantine tank with 8 three month old Odessa barbs using this method. Tested twice daily for 2 weeks and no issues. Ammonia and nitrite was always zero. 👍
I keep marginal pond plants in my tubs, no filtration at all. Most overwinter, even recently noticed a nice patch of java moss that overwintered. I hav
Clicking on a fish video, I wasn’t expecting the primitive butt cheeks in the beginning. However it’s about 50% true to the likeness of flower horn fish so I guess it fits 😆. Also the music choice is excellent, where is it from? Sounds so familiar
In zone 9a the guppies you have to bring inside for winter, their fins start shredding when the temps get down to the 50s but the ricefish can stay out there year round. I did find that while the fish keep the mosquito larvae down, the dragonfly larvae were bothersome (only because I'd observe the ponds very closely, I'm sure if a dropped and forgot I wouldn't of noticed.)
Was that a dragonfly? I heard they lay their eggs into water, and their larvae are amphibious and eat fish. Someone was saying they can wipe out guppy ponds! 😱😬
@@BrentonsFish They need to be able to touch the water surface WHILE FLYING in order to be able to lay eggs in it! Covering a few inches above the water with any type of loose mesh will block them from flying in to touch the water. I saw one guy using the plastic light diffuser screens from those big old ceiling-mounted fluorescent lights, should work great.
Love the content! I got tired of the pump game and ended up buying a $80 linear air pump on Amazon in a waterproof tote under my deck with an extension cord to power and installing 3/4” PVC for my airlines. Have way more airlines than I need but I love the ability to always expand especially with fry and grow out tubs constantly being setup.
I think. I’ve had some Garfield guppies be relaxed on scuds, and I can clearly see the scuds chilling. There are no scuds in the ricefish tanks, those fish are sharp and fast. They haven’t eaten my cherry shrimp though.
I just got two 25 gal planters at tractor supply. I'm ready for 2024 and my new tricolor medaka are growing out in my 10 gal inside. Father Fish would like your method.
I’ve watched all ur vids. Awesome content. We need to get this channel out there and more well known in the UA-cam fish community. Knowledgeable and funny/fun. Great stuff man - keep it up!!
You are the chaotic force that fishkeeping has needed for a long time. I love the content.

I use zoomed digital probe thermometers and they are pretty decent. Bucket pond, axolotl, and fish tank all have one.
I absolutely love your format lol subscribed❤

Wow. I was informed & entertained. Doing this myself…I don’t have anything but lilies & a few water plants & snails & I’ve yet to get fish.

I have found two dragonfly larvae so far after moving these ponds in the garage. I have never been so creeped.

how much sweat do you recommend per gallon for outdoor ponds?
6 drops every 10 gallons.

Great video, looking forward to more
These are awesome. I am going to set one up too
The dragonfly larvae bothered me a bit on one of these buckets. Maybe a net mesh on top?
Would you know if the Medaka rice fish eats scuds or young baby scuds?

@@BrentonsFish Thank u very much
Subbed. Great vid! I keep my Medaka on my balcony here in Singapore. I have to be careful of the sun...
