Excellent lesson. I have always used 5 string tuning on my '68 Tele and you taught me a lot of new things. Many thanks!

I'll try it all three ways along with the recording. Thanks again.

I watched your first video and thought to myself. good stuff but I had already thought to capo on A and now here you are! The C#minor what my biggest problem to figure out. Thank you for doing this video. With all of the lead licks, you really see just how complicated this song really is. It has a classic Stones sound not only in the simplest part of the riff but the lead licks are unmistakable. I'm so happy that they put out new material and I have ordered the blue vinyl album. Can't wait to see what else is there. They have done a great job of not letting any of this leak. thank you again, excellent video and lesson

I was so excited when I heard this song I dropped everything and started to figure it out. It just goes to show there's a few ways to play most songs and have them all sound pretty good!

Thank you.I have been watching the section on Mick’s vocal and the confirmed auto correction tuning on SOME parts of the vocal then went to this. I hope they haven’t vandalised Keith’s guitar

    Hi, thanks that’s great!
I think Keith plays in the solo not that chord shape you use but he slides on the G and B string. He uses double strings a lot in his solo’s (from chuck Berry and like in ‘midnight rambler’ etc.)you can hear him do the slides. Just my thoughts. 😊

Hi I’m confused. What’s the point of the capo ? Seems like it sounds fine in open G without it.

Excellent question! I agree it sounds great either way. The capo on 2 makes the chord transitions a little easier (A - E, and C#m - A), but it really makes the solo guitar riffs easier. Again, either way works and sounds great, but it makes the riffs easier. I'm anxious to see them do it live to see how they do it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Some people are playing it in open G with the capo on the 4th fret. I'm not suggesting you do yet another updated lesson. I don't know how it's actually played on the record. I do believe that there is at least one other guitar in standard along with the open G. I'm trying it out different ways.

There’s always multiple ways but I feel pretty good about capo 2 because of the open guitar licks I wouldn’t be surprised if Ron Wood was in standard tuning too it’s the Wild West! Im just happy they have a great tune out! As long as people are having fun it’s all good!

I'll have to add that this is a great lesson now that I've tried all three ways you covered. I had figured out the main riff in standard on my own (not difficult to figure out). You helped a lot with the other parts. All three ways work playing along with the recording.

It’s a 52 Reissue Tele from around 2004. I picked it up used when I lived in Indianapolis at Meridian Music. It’s very light and sounds fantastic!

Sorry. Played properly. But you need a Humbucker if you want to sound like Keith
