Had an awesome music share with this track! Was a great time, let us know what artists/songs you think are missing from this channel?! Cheers all! 🙌🏻🔥
You are still missing out on Johnny Winter!
🎵 Foo Fighters "The Pretender"
25 years & 10 albums - they are going into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. Dave Grohl's (founder & lead singer & guitar) 2nd time - also inducted as the drummer for Nirvana.
Jimi Hendrix - The Star Spangled Banner (Live from Woodstock)
25 miles by Edwin Starr please
One of my faves. Gotta watch live version.
This song was on every jukebox, EVERY one! Almost every bar band played it. Very popular in its day.
Ya. I'm trying to remember how many beers I consumed to this song in the 80's and 90's and it's impossible.
We jammed on it all the time to.
That explains why I find tons of 45rpm copies of this
Battleship Chains is a great song by these guys
Yeah. Played this in a couple of bands.
Guaranteed dance floor filler...
I'm 71 and this is my groove. Raw rock and roll.....
Exactly!!! I'm 71 and I agree, raw rock and roll, keep it simple....
Gimme Three Steps (Skynyrd) has a similar vibe. But, please dear God for the love of all that is holy, the live version...
In the official music video, there is a backyard wedding, and in the very end, you see that the bride is about 8 months pregnant.
Thats hilarious
Copperhead road by Steve Earle
Check out Remedy or She Talks to Angels by the Black Crowes. 🔥🔥

Especially Remedy!!!!
Seeing Things is fire too!!
@@vikkiwhite6243 Yes! They all are!
Definitely some Black Crowes!!!!!
Band On the Run - McCartney and Wings
Gimme Three Steps - Skynyrd
Ventura Highway - America
Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues
Agree, all great tunes.
@@lisamorrison2149 Thanks Lisa.
Great choices...I think they may have already covered Gimme Three Steps, so how about Call Me the Breeze or I Know a Little?
I think they did Satin and Ventura.
Nights in white satin- The Dickies
I don't think you need to be anywhere specific to listen to this song and love it. Such a great song
The Satellites were something of a throwback, Southern Rock was passé at the time but they had a couple of hits. Battleship Chains was another fun tune.
This is what Bro Country is trying to be now. They mostly fail.
"...passe"??? 🙄
One of the last "Elektra Spun Gold" 45rpm reissues in 1989 was Keep Your Hands To Yourself with Battleship Chains
"Mon Cheri" Her skirt rolled up and I could see she was French....say no more
@@1234dahu BlackBerry Smoke picked up where the Satellites and Crowes left off
In the same vain, Black Crowes "Talks to Angels", "Jealous Again", "Twice as Hard", and "Remedy". They were probably the greatest post Southern Rock band of the 90's.
Agree!!! And they still rock!
Sorry as a 30 year Crowes fan I don't ever consider BC in the same vein as GSs. No offense to GS fans.
Well produced shit. I think the boys would appreciate!
@@rubenduran9517 agreed that the Black Crowes are much higher quality. I meant that they were both 90's post Southern Rock. I would even say they were more of a blues band with the Southern Rock moniker.
"Hard to Handle" (Vocals are so in the pocket.)
Time for you to discover The Cult. "Love Removal Machine", "She Sells Sanctuary" and "Fire Woman"...and while your at it, revisit some Moody Blues.
Edie (Chao baby)!
The Cult are way overdue, and they’d really like them, I just know it.
I second that... Add "She Sells Sanctuary" and/or "Rain"... loved the alt feeling of the album Love
Wildflower, Sweet Soul Sister
She Sells Sanctuary should be first!
My mom is 69 years old and when we start hearing this over and over and over on the stereo, that's when we know she's drunk!
For the ultimate "no ring, no touch" song, you gotta go to "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" from Meat Loaf.
And you need to see the music video on that one too
Must be the live version!
👎
Ha. That’s what I said!!
Excellent suggestion
I remember back when this song was released when I was in high school in the 80's. It's just as good now as it was then.
This is definition of a song I'd never play myself but have fun listening to when someone else plays it.
I can see why this might be considered a one hit wonder but honestly they didn't record a bad song over all their albums. Even leader Dan Baird had great solo material. Much underappreciated.
The Dan Baird song named Dixie Beauxderaunt is sort of like Keep Your Hands to Yourself, or even better. His song named Get Right With Jesus, with The Yayhoos, is another great track.
Dan Baird had another good solo song, "I Love You Period."
Battleship Chains .. big hit here in England
When This Classic Dropped,, It Would Become An INSTANT ROCK ANTHEM,,
BILLY THORPE "CHILDREN OF THE SUN"...R.I.P. BILLY
Not to mention Most People I Know. Another instant classic by Billy. Born in America, adopted by Australia.
Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites) - I Love You Period. Good schoolin'
"Back in the day" it's what we called southern fried rock.
If you liked that, check out from the same era Spin Doctors "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong." If you want something better, Black Crowes "Remedy."
RemedyRemedyRemedyRemedyRemedyRemedyRemedy
Definitely 'Little Miss Can't Be Wrong'--that song is awesome.
When the bar band at the restaurant where I worked back then played this every woman jumped up and hit the dance floor!! Such a fun song! 💃😆
"Amie" by Pure Prairie League long version if you please ✌️♥️
Amie would be a great song!! I agree.!!
Fallin' in and out of love with you.... It's the only Amy song I don't hate.
Yes.
I’m on board with this one♥️
@@lynne5322 FYI Craig Fuller did the original recorded version - he also wrote it. Vince Gill took over when Craig Fuller left the band. The original recording and vocal are iconic and it’s the only version I can listen to - respectfully.
Not country bar, just a dive bar with pool tables and a dance floor. Sooo fun.
If you've gone down this path its time to try listening to The Marshall Tucker Band... Can't You See (most popular), Take the Highway, A New Life, You Ain't Fooling Me
I love me some Marshall Tucker.
At the very least, "Can't You See" is a must-hear song for any music lover.
You do know the story about free milk and a cow!😂 I was in high school having lunch at a Denny's with 2 girlfriends and one of their moms. Her mom asked us straight out if we were virgins and proceeded to tell us no one will buy the cow if they can get the milk for free! This song cracks me up every time with that line 😜
Omg.....my mother said the exact same thing to me when I told her I was moving in with my boyfriend. Moved in with him anyways.
Nobody wants to take care of a cow when milk is available.
@@armadillotoe Cows are amazing creatures and I'd have one in my backyard any day.
@@CharCanuck14 how did it turn out? Just curious.....I did the same
@@helenespaulding7562 We were young (both 20) and after 2 years together we realized we were going in different directions, so split up. That was 49 years ago and we're still friends.
Dan Baird, the lead singer, put out an incredibly rocking solo album after the band broke up with some bangers. Check out “I Love You Period”, “The One I Am” and “Lost Highway”
*probably best to listen in reverse order
Both his solo albums rock
A great one hit wonder is Billy Preston "Will it go round in circles".
Nothing from nothing
That’s the way God planned it
With you I’m born again
etc.✌🏻♥️
Don't you mean "Willie go round in circles"?? 🤣
Outta Space
This is kinda the southern version of Meatloaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light"...lol
As a southerner....I totally agree
Well, Bless Your Heart! 😏
That's not a good thing to say to a southerner lol.
@@davecoker2354 - Noooooo, REALLY? Says this South Carolina Belle.... 🤣 (PS: Dave, I was talk'n to Barry...and Bless'n his heart right sweet like! 😘)
Yes it is! And speaking of Meatloaf, it's way past time for them to hit "Paradise By the Dashboard Lights!" or "Bat Out of Hell" which I always set as my clock's alarm tune the last week of school each year while I was still teaching.
aww yeah, Georgia Satellites! Have to listen to "Battleship Chains" next
Battleship Chains SLAPS!
No doubt! That's the better of the 2
"My honey my baby, don't put my love upon no shelf
She said don't hand me no lines and keep your hands to yourself"

"She told me a story, about free milk and a cow...." 😂

I would never do that to you 🙃
A Georgia Boy also needs to hear some REM: Driver 8, So.Central Rain, Can't Get There From Here, Rockville, Radio Free Europe, Fall On Me. But this was a fun song 👍
YES!!! And Texarkana
YES to all of this! REM and B-52's are must listens for any self respecting Georgia boy!

Driver 8 is my favorite, followed by These Days.
@@maryann1252 40 thousand reasons for living.... Kept me alive when driving through rush hour out of San Francisco on the 80.
I also love Dan Baird's solo work. Great stuff.
I’ve heard the GSs described as being “the house band at the world’s best strip club”.
When I first heard this, I replayed the hell out of this. I still never get sick of it.
@Andy & Alex another group with a Georgia-themed name was Atlanta Rhythm Section. You’ve heard their version of “Spooky” (remember the livestream, everyone typing in caps “WRONG VERSION”? 😆) But Atlanta Rhythm Section had a song called “So into You” (sometimes listed as “So in to You”) that is so well-produced and is incredibly smooth. These guys were former session players and were master musicians. Please consider reacting to it! 😊
There are connections between ARS and Classics 5 who originally did Spooky. A couple members were in both bands.Classics 5 (Dennis Yost) had several great songs including Stormy and my favorite Traces Of Love.
@@bradsense7431 that’s right! Dennis Yost was a great vocalist with such a unique sound. His death was so untimely and tragic.Dusty Springfield’s cover of “Spooky” is pretty incredible. It’s amazing how many covers there are of that song as well as “Stormy” and “Traces.”
@@bradsense7431 and I do hope they’ll react to “So Into You.” It has this great Supertramp vibe to it with that awesome Wurlitzer EP. “Imaginary Lover” is another song of theirs that I love.
One hit wonders?? It's time for The Kings This Beat Goes On/Switching To Glide. The greatest party anthem ever! A competitor recently did the song and the boys in the band went through the comment section thanking all the commenters. That's how much The Kings appreciate their fans! Have to love those Canadians!
One hit wonders?? How about Something In The Air by Thunderclap Newman, which was a project of Pete Townshend from The Who.
You couldn't escape that song back in the day, but if I tell anybody under fifty about it they never heard of it!
FREE RIDE--EDGAR WINTER
Also for one hit wonders, do "Come on Eileen" Dexy's Midnight Runners. This song has followed me since 1982. But in a good way . It's just fun!!
We played this song in every bar band I have ever been in. No matter where we played it people knew it and loved it.
Whenever I hear this I always remember The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades by Timbuk 3 which came out at the same time.
I had the DJ play play this at my wedding reception. My Mother in Law was scandalized!
Good! I have a thing about mothers-in-law. Mine were dreadful.
@@gaylasmith5279 Mine were dead.
At some point, you guys have got to do the Black Crowes, one of the best bands out of Georgia from the 1990s.
Hard to Handle vocals are so in the pocket.
Indeed. ❤️
R.E.M. is another great band out of Georgia as well.
SRV's brother was in a similar type band around this time called The Fabulous Thunderbirds. A couple of their songs are "Tough Enuff" and "Wrap it Up".
10CC- I'm Not In Love....not their only hit but the one most people know. Different vibe, but oh so memorable also. Hope it's in your rotation playlist down the line.
Or Godley and Creme's previous band, The Magic Lanterns with "Shame Shame."
ua-cam.com/video/Nf_32ttdAcg/v-deo.html
"Battleship Chains" is another great song off of this album. I remember dancing to this song a lot in rock and roll bars!
In a similar vein try Jason and the Scorchers, one of the greatest bands that most people have never heard of, criminally underrated.
I will 2nd, 3rd, and 4th that sentiment! Jason & the Scorchers, Lost and Found album is one of the best albums in my collection. Cowpunk at its best!
I saw these two bands together! Gotta say the Georgia Satellites blew them away. SO good! Unexpected as I went to see Jason and the Scorchers.
@@taradevine6026 I've seen both, though not together. The Scorchers were by far my favorite of the two shows, but they both put on a good show. But Jason with his rhinestone suit and skinny six foot-plus-whatever gangly body was just a dynamo. He came out and body surfed with the crowd, just a great showman. The Satellites just couldn't compare to that show.
@@burmajones803 Maybe I was in shock at how good they were. My jaw hit the floor. I came for Jason.
Then you guys surely have to know The Reverend Horton Heat! My favorite live band to go see!!!
Jeff Buckley - “Grace”, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page thought he was one of the greatest singers and guitarist they ever heard.
Talk about an ultimate bar band! I have fond memories of going to Hedgen’s Bar in Buckhead in Atlanta on Saturday nights in the mid 80’s where they regularly played. What a party! By the way, they were originally going to call themselves the Satellites but a British group already claimed that name hence the Georgia part was added. This song was their big hit but there were many other rockers such as “Battleship Chains,” “Railroad Steel,” “Sheila,” “ “The Myth of Love,” “Hippy Hippy Shake,” “Bring Down the Hammer,” and a great version of Joe South’s “ The Games People Play.” Rock on!
Hedgen's!!!!!! Wondered if anyone on the planet would mention it. I was there then! What a great dive bar! So much fun!
@@abrownbook1 Yep, and there was a great bartender there, Laura, who used to bop around serving up drinks and played great mix tapes in between sets. And in between sets we’d sometimes go across the street to Studebaker’s and dance to the Oldies with the college/Yuppie crowd. Good times!
Forgot about this classic. Very catchy tune. Makes you want to sing a long. 🎶
The lead singer, Dan Baird, has a solo album called Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired. Two songs to definitely check out are I Love You, Period and Knocked Up. Dan has a real knack for storytelling with amusing lyrics.
I saw them live when this came out in a small place in Poughkeepsie, NY. Ya gotta spin Battleship Chains!
I lived in Beacon, NY as a child, shout out to the Hudson River Valley.
Man, this song was huge - it's perfect for every biker bar in the land . . . and they ALL played it.
One year I unintentionally saw The Georgia Satellites three times - they opened for Bob Seger, Tom Petty and Robert Plant.
I have a similar relationship with Joe Walsh. I saw him twice one year, once he opened for Foreigner and the other for Night Ranger. Seeing him was intentional, though. The headlining bands were both okay, but he was the reason I went to either of those shows.
Jazzer and Brazilian fan in Japan here, but having grown up in North Carolina, yeah ... this song is FUN.
If you liked this one then seems to me the next logical step would be Jackyl "The Lumberjack"
^^^^ THIS ^^^^
YASS THIS!!
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!
Yes, absolutely
They'll love that one, you can count on it
First time hearing The Lumberjack on radio was in a loud machine shop. I thought the solo was a saxophone!
The Small Faces classic "Itchycooh Park" is a great song with one of the first instances of phasing on a record. This piece of ear candy was the only U.S. chart entry by this criminally under rated band. This is the band that would later morph into being the "Faces".
What will you do there
I'll get high
Loved Steve Marriot
Small Faces is mother band to both "Faces" & "Humble Pie". VERY influential mid'60's band with four amazing talents.

After nearly two years of consistent requests what else to do?
You listened so perhaps best approach.
Hope you enjoyed. If so
would be helpful if you like and comment every time you see it.
Thanks!!!
The original MTV video for this song is as deliberately and proudly "Redneck" as the song sounds, right down to the shotgun wedding.
You probably would like The J. Geils Band if you liked this. A little more raw, esp live, but essentially the same vibe. FIRST I LOOK AT THE PURSE is a good place to start, CENTERFOLD was perhaps their biggest radio hit.
Yay ... Boston based shitty BAR band to offset the Southern shitty BAR band.
A friend had a bar band which played this song. He would introduce it as the bedtime lullaby he always sang to his daughters.
Matthew Sweet. Fantastic songwriter. His albums from '90-'96 will also introduce you to the two greatest guitarists you never heard of, Richard Lloyd and Robert Quine. That will lead you back to their former bands Television and Richard Hell and The Voidoids, two of the original legendary NYC punk bands. And you can thank me later.
I could not believe Robert Quine when Matthew was on the Dennis Miller show. Insane.
"Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet is one of the greatest pop/rock songs ever, IMO. Also love "Evangeline".
After hearing this song EVERYWHERE, constantly for the 5 years after it's release, I can honestly say that the best thing about this song is its video.
It IS an everyday song for me! Now you need to check out Battleship Chains, and then follow singer Dan Baird into the band the Yayhoos for the song What Are We Waiting For.
Bro - I'm a pastor, and played this number with a few different bands back inna day.
Black Crowes "High Head Blues" from Amorica. Their best tune by far
My favorite too
Honestly anything by them just ROCKS!!
Arguable but definitely excellent! Amorica is a fantastic album, probably their best; to me, at least.
Andy, had no idea you're a Southern man. Grew up in the South myself. Love this song; gets you moving. The singer is having a good time and the band is rocking. Fun!
Fellas do Lou Reed - Sweet Jane Rock n Roll Animal, 8:10 is the time, great live jam! I promise you'll love it!
Come on fellas! JJ Cale is the artist you need listen to. If Clapton was a fan, you will be too
Country yodeling is what I call it. Great song. "No huggEE, no kissEE".🚫🤗🚫😘
Usually I can't stand that vocal "pitch break", but Dan Baird makes it enjoyable.
For me in the 90s, Alanis Morrisette and Delores O'Riordon (RIP, of The Cranberries) were unlistenable.
No offense intended to fans. I still can't listen to "Lovesick Blues" by Hank Williams or most of Wilf Carter's records for same reasons.
What's left of country yodeling, really. There were a lot of yodeling cowboys (relatively speaking) in the 1950s and 1960s
Dan Baird who was the lead singer later had a solo hit called I love you period.
This song isn't bad but as a musician in cover bands I've played ot so often that I refuse to ever play it again. Lol
Alright! Yall did my suggestion! Although I imagine several others suggested it as well. Thanks guys! It IS an unmistakable song, and a great one-hit wonder.
I use to sing this at karaoke aaaaalllll the time, but being almost 50 I can't hit those jinga linga " LIIIING " notes anymore lol🤷

that song'll make ALL the little girls dance!¡!!!!
make the great state of Georgia proud!
A+ in Texas too! Keep on throwing these jammers out there, with the likes of George Thorogood's Move It On Over and of course BAD TO THE BONE.
Back in the day when this first came out they would play this during church service haha 😄 at the church I attended 😅
Haven't done the Beatles in a while. How about a deep cut "I want you" ( She's so Heavy)
It must be.me, but I'm finding A&A's picks lately to be a lot of music I would try to avoid. I've been wandering over to other reaction channels which avoid jock rock cliches. I know, it's all about tastes, but lately they seem to be loving vanilla when I'm craving rocky road.
I believe they said that UA-cam won't let them do Beatles, so they do it on Patreon. They did I Am the Walrus recently.
They did Abbey Road on Patreon. A lot of other reactors are doing Beatles lately, so apparently they aren't blocking. If we are doing deep cuts for Beatles, it has to be songs that weren 't on albums. Revolution, Rain, Paperback Writer, Penny Lane, etc.
Or "I'm So Tired".
@@loosilu funny how people can perceive things differently; Rain is the only one of those that I would really call a deep cut but all are great songs. That and Paperback Writer would be the most interesting to hear their reaction to, I think.
I'm not gonna stop. Mitch Ryder and the Detroit All Star Revue, performing Little Latin Lupe Lu, live video recording. He recorded a boppin' version as a much younger man, but his more recent reprise is truly remarkable.
May I recommend "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynyrd Skynyrd?
Another absolute bar banger.
When a song opens and it's a fun song that makes you smile you have a winner.
Solid B-. Not that Great🎸🎼
Haven’t heard this in years! Thanks young dudes😁Love from Ga❤️
The CBGB list continues to be lacking from your playlist....along with the forerunners of punk, new wave and just great music in the late 70s. Television, Talking Heads(try them live....they are a fun band and will always be), Blondie, Patti Smith, The Dead Boys, Elvis and not Presley, Richard Hell, Ramones, even Rockpile (Nick Lowe/Dave Edmunds).
For every 10 of the southern rockers they react to, they should do 1 of the bands on your list. "The Blank Generation" would be good.
The Tubes "Don't Touch Me There" a good follow-up
This got a lot of play in MTV. Too funny.
THIS SONG CAME OUT, MY SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL IN 1987!!! STILL LOVE IT!!
Andy & Alex, you need to seriously check out The Black Crowes!! You will not be disappointed!! 🤘🖤🤘

REMEDY!
The very definition of Rock and Roll. This song has it all.
They also did an outstanding version of Every Picture Tells a Story which you need to play but only AFTER Rod Stewart’s original version.
It is quite good. But, they still are a one-hit wonder.
Yes. Awesome version. Battleship Chains another great tune
This is the kind of party song that grabs you by the hand and drags you to the dance floor.
Every. Single. Time!
LOVE the Georgia Satellites, and this song's a banger!
Very Saucy. So glad you enjoyed!

For straight ahead R&R, there is a ton of material of course. For a slightly modern twist on the genre, try Ring of Fire by Social Distortion, Blues from a Gun by The Jesus and Mary Chain, A Good Idea by Sugar, Disconnected by Face To Face, Mistaken by Save Ferris, Soulmate by No Use For A Name, and some of the Cult's stuff, among many, many others.
Speaking of Social Distortion, Mike Ness' solo album Cheating At Solitaire is front to back brilliant and a perfect example of this.
I used to see them at Hedgens bar in Atlanta. In 82/83/ i used to go down in the basement and snort Coke with a couple of the members/ Dan, and Rick/ This was before they got their first record deal, great day,s!
As awesome as this channel is you guys need to play Chuck Berry's "Reelin and a Rockin". The original Rock and Roll BANGER.
Yes, more original rock! I had suggested Chuck's "You Can't Catch Me," which just swings.
Yeah, Keep Your Hands to Yourself draws heavily on Chuck Berry.
This was definitely a must song in the bars. It’d be so loud with everyone singing along that you couldn’t hear the actual song itself.
How about bands with names derived from Fantasy/Sci-fi?
Duran Duran - Rio
Level 42 - The Sun Goes Down
T'Pau - China In Your Hand
Marillion - Lavender
Duran Duran get’s my vote. A boy band with a bassist that understands ghost notes?
I keep begging for Duran Duran.... I don't think they're ever going to. I suggested Planet Earth.
A ‘must-do’ for bar bands for a generation. Guarantee a full dance floor ever’ time.
"All over but the crying" is a better track! Must do! Love this song though!

They blew away Jason and the Scorchers, too.
I can't tell you how many times I saw the video for this song on MTV. It was in HEAVY rotation.
