- How to replace a transmission fluid pressure switch. This specific switch is the 4th clutch pressure switch from a 2006 Acura TL.
Symptoms of a bad switch:
- Harsh shifting
- Transmission won't upshift
- Fail safe mode
This oil pressure switch reads the amount of fluid pressure and relays that info to the vehicle's computer. This allows the computer to control the shifting. (One of the many mechanisms involved.)

I did not have any engine code or any hard shifting or driving issues but i had flashing 03 on dash board of my Accord 2014. After researching and asking honda Stealers i decided to chnage this sensor. This video helped me guiding thru.could not find the hidden Bolt anyway. So approached from the splash shield side aproach. OEM parts comes with a washer 👍.some AT fluid comes out though. No big deal.

You literally saved me a transmission if this works my guy. I was almost sure it was shot until I realized I'm shifting and getting into gear just fine (hit 80). I also had no check engine light when I took to mechanic. He even told me it was shot. But there was NO check engine lights when I dropped it off. But when I picked it up there was, This was a month ago(It literally sat for a month smh). I just checked them today randomly lmao 08 lancer: P0841 code for others it might be P0840 or both like me! He described from 4:58 on exactly what I experienced. I will be purchasing it tonight. I will come back for the result!

I'm about to change the valve bodies n a 2010 Murano I don't have the code on me but it's a sensor or relay stuck off when I put it in drive it'll barely move an the computer is stopping it from giving it anymore gas is that limp mode like you mentioned. Would that have anything to do with the pressure switch or valve body issue ?

Hi my honda accord mk8 2.4 petrol automatic green d light is flashing and gearbox first and second gear switch is jerky from before but wen the lights starts to flash igear change get rough and high revs amd engine light comes on but wen reset goes off for a while

You can test them, with a very caveman multimeter
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Disconnect the 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch connector.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
Measure the voltage between the 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch connector terminal and body ground.
Is there about 5 V?
Replace the 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch.
Hi. I replaced it on my 2014 odyssey . It turned off and drove it for a couple hours. And it happened again. Blinking f light.

I checked the trans fuel it was way more than the required level so I took some oil out. I don't have any leakage. Can anyone suggest to me what to do? thanks.

Not if they're mounted on the outside of the trannie like the one in this video. If it's mounted toward the bottom, you might lose a bit of fluid.. just be ready with your new one.
I furst noticed my car would not switch between gears. It would stay in a higher gear and once i got to autozone they did the check engine test. The reader popped up and said either its my transmission fluid is low(which it wasn’t) or the sensor is gone bad.

Get a BlueDriver OBD2 scanner to confirm. I just bought and received from Amazon and tried it... has detail report even though the error didn't show in my odometer console in my TSX 2006. I think as long as it wasn't erased from memory, the log will show when you plug in your OBD2.

Hello, maybe you can help me. I was changing that sensor and I noticed that the diameter of the new sensor is very different on the new sensor. The new one has a much smaller inner diameter than the old. So I decided to hold off. Any info would be appreciated. I checked the part number and it’s supposed to be right. Also the color is different. Thanks

I can’t remember for sure, maybe rock auto, Amazon. Doesn’t matter in my case because the transmission took a final shit. Trying to rebuild it but it’s costing an arm and a dick.

I read most of the time those sensors don’t go bad there usually something clogged up like a hose or metal in transmission pan trey.

I have P0878 on my 2016 honda odyssey. Can anyone help tell me which switch to change? Hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear but only after driven for a few minutes, doesn't do it on cold start. Occasional hard shift from 4th to 5th gear.

Hi my Honda Accord v6 2008 model problem is that the D light blinks but goes out after sometime. What could be the problem?
Either your trans oil is low or you got a faulty pressure switch. If you really wanna find out. Get a diagnostics test.
My Honda had the same issue and i scanned it and it showed a faulty intake manifold sensor.
I also have the D light blinking, did you guys find a fix? The transmission shifts good and all, no problems noted. I turn the engine off and the D stops flashing and sometimes won't turn on until couple days later.

How many total switches are on an '08 TL (5AT)? I don't have any OBDII codes but occasionally my AT has a harsh downshift into 1st gear.
If I remember correctly, there are three.

Clean your TCC solenoid and filters.
For Honda's I can tell you to firstly look at the intake manifold sensor switch.

@@MegaEmagic1 hello, I was wondering if you have replaced the pressure switches on a 07-08 acura tl? I have done the 3rd gear switch but the 4th gear under the airbox seems really tough to get to. For one there is very little space for my hand to snap the connector off and there is a wire and a bracket in the way as well, do you have any advice on how to approach this? Thanks alot
@@campos9896 Under the bracket that one I used a 6" 3/8 entention to get to it or you could use a 7/8 O2 sensor socket

Quite often the only option is the local dealer. You may be able to find a used one on ebay.
