Hi, great presentation but... you only present the "dark facts" about Henri Ford. I was an engineer intern at FoMoCo in 1970 - the place to be in the Muscle Car Era. Lee Iaccoca was my idol (a fellow engineer). I learned the history of the Ford Motor Company. Yes, Henri did "bad things" but he was conservative but he was "all-American". He gave part of his fortune and land to build the Willow Run B-24 assembly to eventually produce one four-engine bomber every ~55 minutes. When the UAW unionized Ford, the Ford assembly line worker were the best paid (among non-union people), Ford was last to join the UAW. I lived the Mustang hype (to include the Camaros, Firebirds, ...) and the Pinto (there is more to the story about this car than the public/lawyers claim)... I was there. Ford-Ferguson three-point hitch revolutionized (in part) agriculture, I should know, I was raised on a farm. Yes, he was opinionated - you had to be to survive the great depression and fight other companies/corporations. Despite his faults, he was a great man. Show me a leader that never made a mistake, that never had "flaws" or "faux-pas". Henri Ford was the product of his generation. I am not sure that we are much better nowadays... are we? Peace be with you, Ciao, L (Veteran, former FoMoCo engineer).

@@pilsudski36 It was more than that- one was keeping the Model T in production long after people were tired of them and by the middle twenties people wanted "more car" than what the T offered. 2nd was his insistence on keeping mechanical brakes long after everyone else went to safer hydraulic brakes. Then there was a total lack of leadership during WW2 due to his senility. The company accountants calculated how much money they owed by weighing invoices on a scale. Edsel died in 1943 and the company was in chaos so the government took Henry the 2nd out of the US Navy to try and make sense of the company. Interesting facts. I will have to point out though that one can not and never compare current morals and values - particularly post-WWII - to earlier times. The zeitgeist then was a very different one. Controversies today and developed post-war were more than often normality back then. WWII and all its horrors had not unfolded, politics of segregation and differentiation was mainstream in divers countries, derived from late 19th century academic research initiated by Darwin. Prominent think-tanks thought of it as a gateway to deal with differences which in turn turned into policies, especially in Anglo-Saxon and Germanic based countries with very diverse communities. The Jewish question and general dislike of their communities in Europe was a global theme on top. From a current point of view, all those ideas were disgusting. However they were common quests pre-WWII. A very different time indeed.

This is a well done video but what the creator doesn't know is that speaking out against the jews and collaborating with Nazi Germany, shows that he, not only, cared about American society at large but that he was willing to speak out and take action on its behalf. ANYONE still spouting the "Schindler's List" version of WW2 is about to lose all credibility. The truth about WW2 will leave you gutted. Henry Ford did his best and at the same time, did a tremendous amount to improve society for ALL Americans. This is coming from an Australian.
