The cars in Coconut Mall actually move in every mode except for time trials. Also, the first mushroom shortcut can be done without a mushroom on mushroom gorge. You have to drift into it at a certain angle.
I think lactitu is so aggressive when picking you up is because it's programmed so if you stray too far from the road he picks you up, no matter if there's a death trigger or not
I’m pretty sure he does just grab you if you hit a death trigger, because then how would you be able to do the mushroom gorge gap jump but not hop over the little gap in the vertical-ish section of GBA Mario circuit?
9:03 my favorite part of this remake is that there's an obvious hole in the leaves where you'd think the characters drive through, but nope, you through the leaves below that random hole. the perks of porting the tour models of tracks where the physics aren't the same (you do go through that hole in tour)
I love that they bring back the shortcuts but the difficulty is so nerfed that it makes them a thing you do every lap instead of the high risk high reward we have in mkwii
Aside from how it looks, Walugi stadium is also probably the most tech-heavy track in the game, which also makes it really cool from a competitive standpoint

I didn't realize it until this video, but… everything on this game is oversized when compared to the players. It's especially jarring in these DLC tracks. Toads should not be twice the size of a tall Mii! At least they added a Peach-shaped hedge to "Peach" Gardens. Heh.

I doubt they'll remove any of those shortcuts. They even added a major shortcut to Berlin Byways a wave after it originally came out that would seem outlandish to consider Nintendo leaving in back when MK8 first came out.
I think nintendo decided to have broken games a while ago. Steve in smash bros. Ultimate exists, and they allowed pokemon scarlet and violet to launch a buggy mess.

the wii tracks this wave were great, DK summit and Waluigi stadium were perfect and utilized the half pipes to their fullest

Technically we did get grumble volcano in mk8 as well, but you can’t do the rock hop or ultra. So that one is completely hopeless as well.
