I have in the past actually accepted a low ball order. I simply text the customer ''OOPS I didn't mean to accept this order. I am sorry. I can't do this for $3 or $4. That's all we it is being paid. We don't get that delivery fee." I just try to educate them. I think people think we get all those extra fees, we don't. I don't do it all the time though. Just have one in a blue moon in the past.

The game is played differently when it comes to ordering on the food delivery apps.
If someone doesn't want to play the game correctly by tipping their driver ahead of time, then they shouldn't be playing.

The more the customer tips the more I will do for them. To make things right. Like a month ago I got a catering order customer tipped $53.53 not including base pay. Little bit of time goes by and I get a message saying we didn't order cheese on one of the pizzas and we got cheese on it. I said I will go back to the restaurant and see if they can re make the pizza for you sure enough they did remake the pizza. Restaurant said I am surprised you came back here. I said what they tipped I had to otherwise I would have told them contact doordash and they will offer you a refund.
You take care of your drivers, they will take care of you. I will go above and beyond to make sure things are right for my high tipping customers

Don’t know if you’ve seen the Doordash Christmas commercials running on UA-cam and other media outlets where it compares customer service workers dealing with rude customers at stores to us drivers having it easy by just picking up orders and delivering them to homes while making “good” money. It’s really the funniest commercials I have seen in a long time. 😂😂😂 Also the millions of dollars they spent making and airing them, how about using that money by paying reasonable $$$ to the drivers. 😕

Things Doordash is doing lately to annoy me:
    1)stacked orders
2)making me take pictures of receipts at pickup
3)deliberately lengthening or shortening my dashes
4)finding fault with pictures I take
5)forcing me to refer friends three times a week. I wish I could opt out of those notifications

The AR% should only be impacted by tipped orders. People who cant afford to visit a resturant, sit down, eat, and tip for services should not expect somone to bring them their food for $2. Drive and pick up your food like anyone else who is trying to save some cash or cook at home. The service is a luxury not something owed to you.

See this is a huge problem. People doing the lowest skilled labor in existence and arguing that they're secretly CEO/BOSSES/ENTREPRENEURS/HIM/HER. If this was the 1800s families would be making their 10 year old children to do this job for extra income, successfully I might add. There needs to be a way for the customers to filter poor workers(you) from good workers(you) and the way that generally works is to tip after the fact.

As far as the person who commented in the beginning about tipping afterwards. People have that option, and they just don’t do it. I’ve had around 500 deliveries and I can count the people that have added a tip afterward on one hand. Not only that, but these were people who didn’t originally tip zero they actually added to the tip that was already there.

The removing of tips before checkout is just for New York City, because they are now guaranteed $29.93 per Active hour. Customers still have the option to tip anytime after checkout. Where I live, min wage is currently $16.t0. When choosing whether or not to accept an offer (mostly shop & pay grocery type deliveries) I look at the time it estimates it will take, the number of items & the distance. If Uber is saying that it will take close to an hour or more, then I don"t typically accept offers under that $16.50 or I have just agreed to work for less than min wage plus I'm using my personal fuel and wear & tear on my car. I have an $8 min for regular take out deliveries for the same reason. When there are poor weather conditions - I typically only accept the offers that are "worth it" to get out of the car into wet, cold, snowy, rainy weather etc. I have full time work so UberEats is bonus money for me & I know that being able to cherry pick a bit more stringently than most is a blessing. Praying blessings and a safe and happy holiday season to all who do this type of work 😀 Heather xo

To me a tip should be a gift to you, and not be considered earned income. 2). Isn't the Food Service Industry suppose to tape the order shut? I know when I have eaten at Taco Bell and look at the to go rack while I am eating, all the orders are taped shut.

They do tip AFTER! We do not receive the tip until AFTER we deliver the order. If they are so adamant about tipping after, then tip the mount they would give if the driver ONLY delivered. And be just as adamant about tipping THE REST AFTER they see the great service they received. When we find their home, even though they put the pin a mile up the road from their home. And their food is the right temperature when it arrives. Hot food is hot and cold food is cold no matter what season it is outside. And we read all their little demands in the app and cater to their whims. Like DONT KNOCK! OR, put it on the back porch. Or whatever they request. So they should TELL US WHAT THEY WILL TIP for simply delivering. And when we go above and beyond, they should tip accordingly!

It’s NOT that they DON’T realize our base pay, we drivers have made TONS of videos on different platforms about it and showing base pay screen shots!! The truth is they just DO NOT CARE! Any logical person( the real pre tippers) already are well aware the difference between a waitress who DELIVERS food inside , who by the way doesn’t even have to deliver it more than a few FEET( keyword is not car) and the difference between a delivery driver! It all boils down to they view delivery drivers as peasants and people who must take their abuse FREE because WE are just delivery drivers and NOT REAL JOB WORKERS🙄🙄🙄🙄 NO ONE TIPS AFTER to drivers! Pre-tippers may tip more after however the proof has shown why pre tipping is important because we already know they won’t tip after that’s exactly why we SAY NOT TIP NO TRIP! I’m so sick hearing these weirdos whine about after tipping as if they intended to anyways! It’s always the NO TIPPERS CRYING!

@@dianek1683 I didn't realize I deleted anything but that's not very intelligent of u to be labeling me ignorant or sounding ignorant when I tell things that I know and maybe you have never encountered them. We're not going to the back to refill their tea like a waitress who's working multiple tables at a time does. Who's also receiving multiple tips at a time. We're using our money upfront to deliver to a stranger. Our phones that we pay for to take the orders ain't free either.

One complaint I have about people who say about tipping after they get there order, 2 things I have tried taking a few no tip orders just to see if I get tipped after the fact and I got $0.00 (SHOCKING!!) The thing I would say about how waitresses and waiters after the fact is because that is when the customer pays!! Once a customer pays they very rarely tip once they already paid!!! So I guarantee that we would not get many tips if they changed it to tip after delivery.

These non tipping customers understand. They just don't care. Both parties (Delivery apps and non tipping customers) want to keep doing what theyre doing and want the drivers to just shut up and do what they want.

Hi , you're looking good ! This is classic, Dara was so jealous of DD he spent several trainloads of cash for Brawny Bot the confused but extremely fast logistics apprentice ( just kidding) look man I'm thinking I started this whole parameters optimizing thing that mistakenly led to openly preying on drivers endless desperate life situations that someone who has 24-7 mandatory location info will know.
Then easily grind you down cent by cent because they know you better than your Momma did.
Uber Eats was my top choice , hats off to the dispatch crews and inbound order filter works that kept the value of each and every offer with some bias to drivers and if you're minimally creative and establish individualality the tips were quite good 😊 here's the rub! That perfect convergence of top quality orders means I never even looked at an offer before accepting it most of the time which led to %100 straight across the board..... then Dara

You made a poor argument for tipping before vs after delivery. If 100% of customers tipped you after delivery, you would be very happy with it. Your issue is not when they tip but DO they tip. You are never going to control tipping so why worry about it. Only take offers that meet all of your requirements (I'm assuming tip info is given before acceptance in your market).

Honestly, I never knew how much delivery apps paid before I started delivering myself. I don't even think I looked it up to be honest. Most people don't know what the base pay is. Most people probably think we get that delivery fee. Last weekend I got 3 bad orders from Uber Eats. I was upset, so I accepted the $3 order for 3-4 miles. I texted the person saying how much we are being paid which was $3. I said we don't get that delivery fee. I was basically educating them. Eventually I canceled the order. BUT on another note....what is your "On Time" for DoorDash?? I ask because mine is at 92%. I haven't been able to get it up at all really. I am getting worried it might drop. I try my best to get the food to customer on time....etc.

    • @vikings7683
      @vikings7683 5 місяців тому +1

Do not worry about your on time, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Just get the order to the customer as soon as you can, and if doing Earn by Time, DO NOT MILK THE CLOCK, as you will eventually be deactivated for doing so.
Also do not ever text customer about a tip, this to can get you deactivated. If the order is not worth taking, just don't take it.

Customers have to be educated in 2 ways of thinking. U can look at us like a waiter at a restaurant because we get the base pay like a server. Then look at us like a pizza delivery person. If someone orders pizza from a main store website it asks u to tip in advance. It's just a matter of do the job u want and stop complaining
