This is a fun way to try and pack as complete a kit as possible into a wallet that can still be carried in a back pocket. Please leave your comments in the comment section below and as always, thanks so much for watching!
I'd like to suggest that you add the following items which would add almost no weight. 1) An orange trash bag. It's great for helping with signaling and with shelters. 2) A gallon freezer bag for water collection/storage!
Nice! I think you have enough room to put in a Quart FREEZER bag (more durability) and some Aqua Mira Tabs for Purification. That should help with the Hydration issue. Thanks again for the Video and Take Care.
A very cool idea. Idk about the butt bump but definitely for my cargo pockets. Ive thought a few times of makin a small pocket kit but i pretty much carry a basic set in my pockets separately.
As a huge proponent of the Les Stroud cross-loading approach my initial reaction at 2:39 in is why not carry just that insert? Looks like you’d lose an inch of width right there. Nonetheless well thought out video as usual, James. My only addition? A 2mil contractors bag, folded carefully into a 4x6” craft bag for instant shelter. I put 12’ of 550 with mine too. Cross-loading is the way to go. If you fall in a river or your pack tumbles down a ravine, what’s in your pockets is what you have to work with
OK this took me by surprise. I've been making kits since I was we. But I've never heard of survival wallets. Closest I can recall is the guy on bushcraft Barton's. I checked and it's kind of common. You've inspired me with this. I've been obsessing for a few days now and gathering items. I like your use kf the phltoto windows. Last night I sat with an exact and #11 Blade and did major surgery on a wallet I was given years ago. I'm planning to go more extreme. First up I'm adding old ID a debit card and cash in case I e d up in a town during walkout. Thanks for showing me a new format.
I really like this presentation. My temptation is to expand your idea inti a small travel wallet or travel pouch maybe even with a strap. There are many companies that make them. I already have a few and it is where my mind goes when I watch Your Video. THanks very much, you really have me thinking!
Great video! You have such creative ideas. I keep a kit in my front pocket, I use a small camera case. It is bigger than your survival wallet (approximately 5' x 3 1/2' x 1 1/2) , so I can fit a few more items. I'm sure most people would not want to have something that bulky in there pocket, but I'm a big guy and it really doesn't bother me. I have all the items you have plus a few extra. I have a couple quart size freezer bags, a set of bump keys, a bigger knife, some heavy duty tin foil, a small pair of scissors, a credit card size fork and spoon, pillars, zip ties, a collapsible straw (for fire starting) and a bigger fishing kit. I also keep some electronics ie. adapters (mini USB, type- C USB) and a very small thumb drive for storage and with some vital information. I'm prepared for a number of scenarios. Keep up the good work and God bless!
I love this kit! Some great ideas, thank you for sharing. Could it fit a small amount of duct tape? Strong zip lock bag and water purification tablets? Emergency reflective blanket?
It could indeed additionally hold a small amount of duct tape, a good, strong zip lock bag and some water purification tablets. Not big enough though for an emergency blanket.
How come nobody ever keeps a topical anesthetic in their medical emergency supplies? Seems like toothache pain killer would work pretty good. What do you think? I mean, if there is debriding going on, there needs to be a topical pain killer also.
Unfortunate Tool Logic has redesigned the knife. The new one isn't half as good. Yes, I also own the old one. The Wallet Pot Anyone familiar with sheet metal work should understand how trays and other such things can be formed for part of a kit. Along the same lines heavy duty aluminum foil can be folded and molded in various way. It is a bit on the weak side to really hold its shape stuffed into a kit or bag. A better use would be to simply fold it up and pack flat to be formed as required. The past couple of years I have seen some people have come up with the idea of using disposable foil loaf pans both large and small flattened and packed as an emergency cooking pot. I applaud the ingenuity of the idea. I might have snapped up the idea for myself except I came up with a different route to accomplish the tasks. Personally, I think my idea is a bit better. I created a 6 by 6 by 3-inch aluminum pot that fits into my wallet survival kit. Start with heavy foil. Like those disposable oven liners, the ones that look like a cheap cookie pan. 1. Take a piece 13 X 13 inches. 2. Clip a ½ X ½ inch square out of each corner. 3. Fold each edge ¼ inch twice to form a rim. 4. This gives a 12-inch square. 5. Now you need to put in the creases to form the box. 6. Fold in 1/4 or 3 inches of one end and crease. 7. Do the same for the other side. 8. Unfold and rotate 90 degrees. 9. Take the other two sides and repeat the creases. 10. This forms a crease pattern of a 6-inch center square 11. 4 3-inch squares at the corners. 12. The sides are then 3 X 6 inches. 13. Now you fold the large square diagonally. 14. But you only need to crease the portion that crosses the corner 3 X 3 square. For carrying you fold in the 4 sides to form a 6-inch square and then fold it in half. This gives a packet 3 X 6 inches, which happens to be approximately the size of a dollar bill. Making just right to slip into the bill compartment of a wallet. To set up you unfold the packet. Using the diagonal creases, you form triangles at each corner. These start at the base of the box and extend out 3 inches at the top. Two of these triangles are then folded along the same side. The other two are folded along the opposite side. The tops of these triangles are tucked under the folded under the rims to help hold them in place. Making the box more ridged. This gives you a 6 X 6-inch pan 3 inches deep. The box is 108 cubic inches or almost 60 fluid ounces. Which is just 4 ounces shy of 2 quarts. Since you won’t fill it to the rim call it a quart and a half of usable space. Not bad for something that fits into a wallet. You can also slip a couple of paperclips over the ends to make it more solid. Yes, repeated folding and unfolding plus the wear and tear from the friction in a wallet will eventually open holes and cause leaks. And once it has been used it will accelerate the deterioration. But because of the heavier gauge of the pans they last much longer than aluminum foil. I’ve gone through a couple both carrying and testing. They have lasted for several years or a half a dozen or more reuses before they became iffy.
Very cool idea! Thank you so much for the detailed information. If you don't mind, may I use this idea in a future video? I can give you credit if you wish.
Awesome man . I like the organization part of the system for this wallet. 7:02 The pull out tool part here, could this be used as a striker/scraper if it was filed/grind down to a 90 angle. Since bankline is kind of sticky you could spiral it flat and keep it like that in a baggy
Might sound weird at first, but for the drinking container you might wanna add a condom. They do carry quite some volume - and if things really should go wrong, it always is better having than needing. :-)
Your wallet is fat . I carry band aids , a coil of heavy duty string , Diaper safety pins and a couple of alcohol prep pads . They all get used from time to time and have to be replaced .

Great kit. I mentioned in your compact kit two means of adding a water container (prophylactic or store produce plastic bag).
Yes. Thank you for watching!
Pretty cool assortment of stuff for any type of place you are at.
Thank you so much! And Thank you for watching and commenting!
I did one a few years back. Cool little kit thanks for sharing .
Great! I think it is a generally overlooked way to carry a decent amount of gear. I would love to see your ideas on it!
@@WayPointSurvival I should do an updated version of this one ua-cam.com/video/JDTILGvQMjw/v-deo.html
I will check it out, thanks!

Is that George Costanza's wallet? lol. Too thick for my back pocket but maybe a cargo pocket, good for a bag or kit. Thanks for sharing.
It is a little thick but works ok in the kind of pants I had on. Somebody tell George I have his wallet...
Good job brother. Lots of useful stuff in a small space. Thanks for sharing pal.
You're welcome, chief! Thanks for watching, as always!
Great little extra kit to bolster your edc. I have a toned down kit in my wallet all the time. But this is quite neat
Thanks!
For a moment I feared you would pull out a folding shelter from there. 👍👍👍
If I could find one that would fit, it would be in there...
Thanks for your Vids, @@WayPointSurvival
You're welcome!
A great set of kit ideas - thanks for sharing and stay safe. ATB. Nigel
Thank you!
For the size of it it's good to go if you need any of the items in it. Hopefully you won't need to gather water or build a shelter.
It definitely has it's limitations. It's hard to pack everything in a wallet, lol! Thank you for watching!
Good setup
Thank you!

Thats a good idea. In survival, you can also use cattail jelly as it has analgesic as well as antiseptic properties.
Cool
Got it, thanks!

True. You just have to make sure it is the plain kind without any chemicals etc. Thanks!
@@WayPointSurvival Indeed, you need a "basic" one.
Glad if it could help :)

My fanny pack can carry all that plus a can of beer!
Now that's a lot...
Have you considered a biker or trucker wallet
No, I haven't but that's a great idea!
What was your source for the small zip bags?
You can get them at any pharmacy.
nice, are you a total back pocket wallet guy?
Not always, if I'm wearing cargo pants I will sometimes carry my wallet in a side pocket. Thank you for watching!
ALL that gear in a wallet ? I say witchcraft !
Just kidding :) That is a very complete compact kit !
Thank you!

No problem
New subscriber. Thumb up bro

Condom for water or any other....emergency :p
That would work...for the water I was planning on re-purposing a found bottle or can...
Dude, where's your condom? Every wallet (man and woman) should carry 1 condom in their wallet.
Thanks for watching.
Your wallet is fat . I carry band aids , a coil of heavy duty string , Diaper safety pins and a couple of alcohol prep pads . They all get used from time to time and have to be replaced .
