    Great upload by the way, it is interesting! Congrats on your dyno tune for sure...........but I'm not sure how your tuner came up with 310 crank horsepower. If the car stock comes with 298hp and then gains 23whp, that is a larger gain than 310hp crank. Drivetrain loss is from 15% to 20%. So you take your tuned number 279 x .20 = 334hp crank. He took the number and divided it by .9. Anyway, 330hp is inline with a stock g37 at 330hp which is where a tuned rev-up should be.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому +1

      Motordyne G35 He was being conservative with the calculation for drivetrain loss. Which is fair and I would under rate things if I were in his position too.

      Alejandro Velazquez Well you are maxing out the engine on the dyno so there's technically a risk when bringing the car to red line. If your car is all stock I would hold off on the tune until you do some basic upgrades like the MREV2 and plenum spacer.

    When you lower the A/F ratio, you are adding fuel. So when he was talking about when you floor it, it used to be 13 to 14 parts air and 1 part fuel. The car from the factory will always try to hit 14.7 or Stoichiometric at idle, you can see all of this if you buy an uprev cable. When he makes it richer or lowers the air fuel ratio down to around 11 or 12, and that means more fuel is in the mixture. 11 parts air to 1 part fuel. Your tuner said you want to be at 12 to 13, interesting because my tuner said 11 to 12 and my dyno sheet backs that up.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      Motordyne G35 It might be because of our elevation in our area or just what he prefers based on his experience? I find tuning no matter what industry (instruments, sound systems, motors) there are guidelines but there is no set way, but rather preferences and styles.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      Motordyne G35 It looks like our tuners are relatively thinking the same thing only off by a point for the AFR preference. Racing Greed is one of the few shops that has an AWD dyno and they see a lot of different cars. I think they did good, I love how my car drives.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35 7 років тому

      Oh I know a tune makes a big difference, even if it is just a gain of 23whp. I remember when i gained 24whp the difference it made, then the difference it made at 37whp gain. I would get boost, but that would blow the motor quickly. Once the motor dies a natural death, on the rebuild will I make it able to handle boost.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      Motordyne G35 Ya I agree to weight and really figure out the type of car you want after. I'm going to do a robust NA build, I want durability like an LS motor. I'm happy if I can get it to 350 to 370 at the crank on a built motor.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35 7 років тому +2

      The VQ motors are documented to do over 300,000 miles. I'm at the half way point and I'm going on 12 years of ownership. I floor it everywhere to hear to the Shockwave)))) and I haven't had a problem yet, so I consider my build to be rock solid reliable in my book.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  2 роки тому

      It's a dyno tune to make the existing parts work properly. If you modify it a lot after, you'll have to retune again.
      I don't think there's such a thing as a "partial" or "full" tune. You just make it work properly however the car is setup.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      All you need for your tune is all your mods done and go to Racing Greed to setup an appointment.
      I think it's worth it. You saw my car was running into detonation and it had a few lows (even with the ecu reset) so the tune makes sure the car runs properly and safe.

      iFeend ECU reset is ok, but if you want to drive it hard you need a tune if your modded. My car leaned out up top. $400 for the UPREV license and $150 per hour of tuning. Tuning will be 2 to 3 hours depending on your car.

      @@AnthonyJ350 What kind of response is that? You want to know about 'his' car? As if you don't believe the 3.5" AT intake & NWP TB combo can make a difference... or are you serious? Do you think you're maximizing your gains by running the Tanabe single, somehow?? I'll humor you, because you tend to be a prick to commenters who don't fully agree with you. Muh muh what did my car dyno at? 2006 5AT (heresy!!!!) coupe back in June 2017 for 'baseline' tuning at Simone's (Justin) in Newmarket, Injen CAI / Skunk2 5/8" spacer, no bar / Stillen HFC / Borla TD. That was on a hub dyno (Dynapack), 235 WHP & 229 lbs-ft. Re-tune #1 in May 2018 after CAI swapped for AT 3.5" intake, NWP TB installed and Borla shorty headers installed (yes, the junky ones). Injectors maxed out just before 6,300 RPM, limiter up to 7,000 RPM, 261 WHP & 239 lbs-ft. Re-tune #2 in Sep 2018 by Radek from RS Tuning, first time the TCM was tuned. This was then on a roller dyno (DynoDynamics), SAE corrected to be a heartbreaker compared to your high Dynojet (STD) reading. Injectors maxed out around 5,900 RPM on stock cam profile which was a first for Radek, no drop until 6,800 RPM, 281 WHP 6,000-6,800 RPM & 245 lbs-ft ready to go at 3,550 RPM. Cut six tenths off the Oct 2017 run @ Shannonville, in Oct 2018 after re-tune #2. It IS absolutely worth it running that combo, it gives the non-revup DE a healthy 50 whp bump over stock w/o camming it. But, somehow you're too proud of your old choices to go there. He then told me that sure, that is somewhat true, but also since the car is so old, 04, the car will adapt most of the mods itself. never 100% as a tune of course, but 600 USD for something I may not even notice is not worth it to him.

    The gain is all that matters, not the over all number. So 23whp and a gain of 6wtq? I'm familiar with mustang dynosheets, because I also have one. On your dyno sheet it reads base 256whp...... tuned 279whp. Then it reads, 253wtq base....... 259wtq tuned. Your wheel hp is about right for your mods, like I said it would be under 25whp. But how is your wheel tq gains so low?
    My gains were 37whp/45wtq, but to get my baseline pull I took my car to a dyno day and did my pull with the car bone stock, not mods. Bone stock on a mustang dyno, it did 245whp/211wtq.
    Mods on first dyno tune: +24whp/+35wtq gain
    -----Mustang Dyno--NOT MODIFIED to read higher numbers--------- ua-cam.com/video/qy3buvFV9_g/v-deo.html
    Base Numbers: 245whp/211wtq
    Tuned Numbers: 269whp/246wtq
    - Motordyne MREV2,
    - Motordyne 5/16th spacer
    - Long tube Injen CAI
    - Resonated test pipes
    - Invidia Gemini exhaust.
    Mods on 2nd dyno re-tune: +13whp/+10wtq gain..................ua-cam.com/video/9ui7clE-vm0/v-deo.html
    Base Numbers: 270whp/260wtq
    Tuned Numbers: 283whp/270wtq
    - KW v3 Coilovers
    - Long tube Injen CAI
    - NWP 75mm throttle body
    - Motordyne MREV2
    - Motordyne 5/16th spacer
    - Motordyne v3 ART pipes
    - Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhaust
    Total gain on a rev-up..........37whp/45wtq. I don't believe our numbers our close at all, but with my old set-up yeah they are close. I told you, you would not get above 25whp. I'm wondering if the ecu somehow compensated for the MREV2 is why your wheel tq numbers where low. I was able to get a dyno pull of my car with no mods and then with mods, so I don't know if since your baseline pull was with mods already on the car if the ecu compensated for it because there is no way you got 6 wheel tq gains. The wheel tq number should be higher. Thoughts?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      On your latest tune you made 283 vs my 279 and the torque was a good difference of 10ft-lbs. But in your latest video the dyno is different than the one my car is on. You guys have the wheels off as well and I run a larger wheel and tire combo which could have an affect on how much torque I can deliver.
      I can't confirm this but I'm told our gas isn't as good as the states. So the only way to tell how close these cars are is to dyno them at the same shop at the same time.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35 7 років тому +1

      Again, all that matters is the gain, not the dyno. You had a gain of 23whp/6wtq. I had a gain of 37whp/45wtq, huge difference.
      Your wheel tire combo theory makes no sense. On a mustang dyno, have 19x10.5 on the rear with 285 size tire. My first dyno run, gain was 24whp/35wtq. Same brand dyno as you, with tires on. Then on the 2nd dyno run, a different dyno with tires off, a gain of 13whp/10wtq. Again, the dyno's make no diffrence, the gain is all that matters. And you are NOT making enough power for wheel spin on the dyno, trust me that is for sure. I"m guessing your ecu adjusted for your mods. How long did you have your MREV2 on before dyno time? 6wtq gains are really low. 23whp is on target for your mods, but the wheel torque number gain should be in the 30's, not 6.
