    You'll see in the video the difference of the stock pedal assembly and all the improvement RJM Performance has made.

    THANK YOU! I hated my spongy clutch with over-travel. I ordered the RJM for my 2008 350Z Roadster, hired a skinny 19 year old with mechanical aptitude but not a mechanic to put it in for me, I weight 300lbs LOL Took him 1 hr 45min to install it after watching your video and a few others on youtube. No readjustment was necessary and it feels like a new car with a perfect clutch. It is truly an amazing mod, thanks a million for your video and to RJM for a fantastic product.

    Had the rjm assembly on for the second day now. gotta say the instructions make it seem more complicated than it really is. however the importance of it being done right is justified with it all. the only hard part was actually dealing with cramming myself in a position to be able to do the job (im rather tall so it was quite awkward and hard) however it is quite easy. the only hard part i found was making sure the assembly was mounted right for the clevis to be pushing in at the correct angle. for those that have been bashing this product and video i highly suggest you get one to be proven wrong. i live in texas and the main issue we have with the 350Z's down here is the heat. just daily driving it in hot weather in a bit of traffic will give the mushy pedal feel and of course the dreaded having to pop the pedal back up with your foot every time you shift. i had mechanics tell me i had to change out my bearing and master cylinder and so forth to fix the problem but i knew it had to do with the pedal. after much research with others having the same issue but actually swapping out every other part and still having this issue i finally found this video and after doing the install. IT IS BRILLIANT! i went in to readjust it after a full day of driving. and its unbelievable how good this is. no clicking. no grinding, no sticking to the floor. shifting between gears is so much easier. if you drive a z in a hot climate you know all these problems. Even if you do not have any issues with the pedal i suggest getting this. it will make a day and night difference with your driving.

Ive been in the same boat doing research and being told the same things you were. Always knew it had to do with heat. Thanks again!

    My brother in law is RJM, I bought a 350z as its my 10yrs wanting one. Ryan (RJM) and I have talked so much I had to get one. His clutch will be going in my car this week, as i can tell right away the factory clutch isn't the greatest. I've seen how they're made, and can't wait to get it in. I'll for sure comment after it's in. I probably wouldn't have got the car if I didnt have him to help me with things. Look forward to meeting you when you visit him Anthony. Anyone experiencing a thud when depressing the clutch pedal, means a nut has come loose off of the clutch pedal assembly and this is fairly common. It is usually the nut closest to the driver and is upside that comes loose. Tighten the nut back up and the thud will go away when depressing the clutch pedal.

    Wonderful mod. Do it now. I have been driving manuals since I was fifteen (63 now). Never had any issues with stalling out due to improper clutch/gas engagement. My G35 Sport Coupe changed that. I have stalled out and made jerky shifts into 2nd more than I care to admit. I had to have my seat all the way back to compensate for the early release, which prohibited good heal/toe shifts. I had to turn down the radio to hear the engine when pulling away from stops. If I didn't, I'd either stall out or over-rev. Now it's as it should be. My poor-mans Aston Martin is a joy to drive. Do it now. You won't believe the difference it makes.

    Getting this for our 2012 G37S. To the point on only depressing the pedal halfway on the stock set up, I've found the only way to drive this car smoothly with the stock setup is to set the seat far enough back so that you have to reach to fully depress the pedal. Then depressing it only halfway is normal movement. Car has 154k miles on it with original clutch/master/slave. Hoping this will bring improvement to the one gripe we've had on this car from the start!

    Just an update, I installed the RJM pedal last weekend. While the manual says about 1.5hrs of install time, it took way longer than that for me (like 3-4hrs) because the factory clutch pedal was hard to remove and the position is very uncomfortable to work on under the dash.
    The RJM pedal, once fully adjusted is great. No more pedal getting stuck halfway. But I think I have a faulty clutch slave since the hot weather here in FL the clutch is hard to engage esp in stop-n-go traffic. I'm looking to replace the slave cylinder next and bleed the system.

    • @AnthonyJ350

I just didn't like how the engagement on the Z wasn't smooth, even when I gave it good enough gas. If you’re issue is clutch pedal, first have a certified technician (nissan) diagnose.
      If it is in fact the clutch pedal because you’re a tall dude then custom pedals suuure.
      But these things can very for many individuals.
      Master cylinders failing? That’s possible due to the amount of neglect (heat+wear+contamination) the more often you can put a test strip to determine the brake fluids contamination levels. And the sooner you replace the fluid that master should live in there for the life of the vehicle

    My main concern is the harsh nose diving effect when shifting from 1st to 2nd and downshift into those lower gears. It makes my car buck and nose dive badly so badly. I've driven other cars and trucks with manuals and my 07 G35 sedan is probably the worst. I've driven a 370Z and G37 sedan 6mt and they felt the same way. I'm getting a new Z1 clutch and flywheel (also a CSC elimination kit and and OEM clutch master cylinder) soon because after almost 160k miles, my original clutch has finally started slipping noticeably. 2.5 years of living in the city and commuting in traffic (with hilly terrain and roads) have expedited my clutch wear. That being said, I wonder how this clutch pedal assembly would react with a new clutch kit... I know that you can adjust pedal engagement between the master and the slave, and the "feel" or resistance you feel depends on the components, so I wonder if this would still be relevant in my scenario.

It's a z1 motorsports Mild Performance Clutch Kit(6 puck). My the release point now is almost all the way up. It feels too high. How do I adjust that? My clutch engages higher up the release. but if I pump my brakes a couple times.. the pedal stiffen back up and the clutch works perfectly. barely release the clutch and it's off like a champ.

    I just purchased an 2006 g35 with an automatic transmission, and also managed to collect about 90% of the 6 speed manual conversion parts. I was wondering how did the owner of this G35 measure out the precise spots to cut out and drill the holes for the clutch master cylinder and clutch pedal bolts to mount into the chassis? Some automatic transmission vehicles have a stamped imprint outlining the holes for the studs and master cylinder reservoir for a potential clutch pedal install. Automatic G35's don't have stamped imprint so it's hard to pin point exactly where to drill in order to avoid installing the clutch pedal at an incorrect angle.

    Curious if you remember the amount of turns the new clevis went on? My old one came off about 4 1/2 turns, and that’s how much I put the new one on, but it just doesn’t seem right because there is so much thread left. And also now it seems to be having a hard time getting into gears. And it’s grinding in reverse. It didn’t have any of those problems before I replaced it.

      No I didn’t use the nut as a reference. I just counted how many turns the old oem clevis came off by and that’s how many I put the new one on by. And now I noticed if I try to shift into gear at a high RPM it literally won’t go into gear. I’m going to bled my clutch fluid tomorrow and if that doesn’t work I’ll adjust the clevis more so it pushes in the slave more

    Right now I am having an issue I can’t figure out.. help? I bought a car with a new clutch. At the beginning. as I started letting out the petal from the floor, the clutch would grab hard. Didn’t have any issues other than a tick when I had the petal out and in N… When I’d press it in the noise went away.. the slave cylinder was bad so I replaced it and the master as well, bled them really well. And still had the tick and the petal would be slow to return all the way.. it would Pop back 60% of the way then slowly the rest of the way.. if you let your foot off the petal fast it basically comes up and then slaps the bottom of your foot.. now when I have clutch pressed in all the way I can’t get into 1st gear.. sometimes if i shift into 4th then try 1st it will work but it’s stiff.. once I get it into 1st gear I can come back to neutral and any other gear ( keep in mind car isn’t moving at all during all this. Just clutch in and manipulating the shifter.) but say i go back to neutral and let the clutch out all the way, then press it in again.. im back to square1 … can’t get into 1st gear.. stiff as a rock.. but I can sometimes get it into 4th and then 1st again after that.. any time I let the clutch out all the way in N I can’t get into 1st … side note when the cars not running I can go through all the gears .. clutch in and out doesn’t affect it.. only while running. Thanks for reading this ..

    Clarrifying; Nissan in general makes good parts and cars, vehicles always have bugs here and there and certain part that jst gave everyone headaches, but to say they cant make a hydraulic clutch assembly is an overstatement. If that were true then they suck at making engines as well cause the QR25DE is one thats been weak or known to give problems, doesnt mean now they suck overall at making engines. JS, cause im extremely bored.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому +2

      Angelo Daniel Negron Ok fair statement. But a lot of G35 and 350Z owners do not like the feel of their clutch pedals and that pedal makes the hydraulic system prone to failure. I'm also a GM guy and most GM vehicles from the 90's have a nice firm brake pedal feel compared to these cars. It took me a while to figure out how to make my brake feel in my 350z as nice as my 2005 Silverado.

    • @jgnegron4259
      @jgnegron4259 7 років тому

      AnthonyJ350 that was my only argument at the General Statement which im sure you didn't make to be that jst came out that way. I have an '07 G35S 6MT Sedan, can you believe it that even these have a problem with the clutch system? They got wayyy better, but the Clutch Slave Cylinder still gives probs, I changed mine and found out it was the third part revision from Nissan. Hasnt given me problems so far and its been almost a year. I think with my model the Slave was the only problem, rest of it seems to be a okay with me and other owners with my model or engine (VQ35HR). Nice Vid btw.

    • @jgnegron4259
      @jgnegron4259 7 років тому

      AnthonyJ350 no, everything is stock OEM, and the slave problem started abt 3 months of me having the car, did it once then stopped then did it again and I had the dead clutch pedal feel with no pressure or feed back on the clutch pedal, its always on the 07+ G's, I think anyone with an HR really, so Z's too, it starts like this, dies on you on the highway when you let off and place the car in neutral, if you go back to depressing clutch to engage in a gear its dead, lol . Btw, I think even my clutch is OEM. I got the car back in December of 2015 with 87K miles & the clutch was worn out, its at 125K I drove it a shit ton, I still do, lol, I have to change its not slipping thank God but its pretty wated to the point its almost non existent. Im gonna order a Stage 2 with a 13/14 lbs light weight flywheel, hence my earlier statement they really do make things that last at Nissan not jst all Toyota & Honda, haha. Like the Sparkplugs on these are rated to last to 90K miles, they really do last forever even though I'll still change'em earlier like at 40K or so.

      Anthonyj350 Hello, was waiting on ur reply, lol, I enjoyed our condo cause it could give me some insight. BTW do you know if the HR's have the same pedal design? Cause if so I would then include this on the list and get it as well then prob not have to worry abt over working my slave and master. then if the slave takes a shit on me again I'll look into a Slave Cylinder Delete, saw one on Concept Z or Z1 online not sure if for HR or DE / RevUp

    Hey I know this is an old video but I really need help on my clutch. I have a 2005 350Z and I only enjoy driving my car in the morning when it’s cold because of my clutch. When it gets warm after maybe 20 minutes of driving my clutch gets about 4 inches of “free play” basically no pressure or anything for 4 inches and right when you get pressure the engagement point is right there and it’s a horror story driving like that. If you know what I should do or try please please anyone help Thankyou.

      Try installing a new slave cylinder and also change the flex line to a stainless braided version with heat shielding.

      @@NalIu Yes for sure, the pedal is amazing. Upgrading the hydraulics outside of the car is important due to the design of the car and age.

      AnthonyJ350 yea I was thinking of doing that cuz the input shaft bearing is also kind of noisy.

      Wrong trans fluid will also do this. Got to make sure it's gl4 manual trans fluid and not rear axle fluid.

    Just install a paddle stop bam simple.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  7 років тому

      SI RICKO You don't get any more modulation and you rely on the hydraulic system to push back the pedal or still have the half pedal and no adjustability

    You always have 25 mm of play that’s about 1”.
    I feel as if you truly lack information/education on the actual function of the unit, what the design and intent.
    Why do you use dot 3,4,5, other? There’s a technical reason why.
    Bottom line put a disclaimer that you’re just a blogger and lack.
    Brakes/clutch (hydraulic systems) are touchy because you can ultimately risk someone else’s life.
