    Honey bee propolis taking down human viruses is the first video of a series about this intriguing product of honey bees. Propolis is known for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. I am trying to find out the research done so far about propolis and perhaps perform some experiments myself.

    I just suffered my first Shingles outbreak. I immediately applied propolis extract to the rash. It stopped the pain and itching, and the rash did not spread. I also took antiviral medication and I believe the combination really worked to minimize the outbreak. I feel very fortunate to be a beekeeper!!!

    Hi 👋
    I had problems with chronic inflammation of the inner ear, but from when I started eating propolis every morning, these problems disappeared.
    I also use Propolis for all cuts and wounds in combination with forest honey to accelerate healing and prevent infections..
    In Slovenia, various types of honey are strictly separated, which is then sold as meadow honey, linden honey, forest honey, chestnut honey and so on..
    Because each of these types of honey is to treat specific diseases and infections..
    Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮 EU

    I can't say I'm surprised. My wife's side is Ojibway and they've been using White Pine sap for cuts and infection forever. Considering sap is a major component of propolis, I would expect the propolis to have this characteristic as well. It's great to see it studied to confirm common knowledge.

    Always interesting topics. This one be it sideways, brings up another hive question. How many full time beekeepers have been hospitalized with Covid? Also we are cranking along here with our new sawbladed rough interior hive boxes hoping to encourage the "propolis envelope". The woodware for for 60 deep test supers is going into the kiln on Monday. We won't have the results of the prior design until May. Will stay in touch.

    I do know that there have been studies in Montreal for Quercetin and how effective it is for preventing viral replication, but I don’t know if their source was from Propolis. Their video was from Feb 28, 2020 and around that date. They were one of the groups sending treatments to China for COVID19. Michel Chrétien and Majambu Mbikay were the doctors presenting their results.
    I happened to see their videos and happened to have Quercetin in my cupboard when I contracted covid at the end of March 2020. I was untested because there were no tests available at the time, but I am still dealing with some effects almost 2 years later. But, I don’t think I would be here if not for the Quercetin. A side note is that my Shingles outbreaks have stopped now for the same 2 years since I take Quercetin fairly regularly, 3-5x/week 500mg.

    It is true - not many Western civilization countries citizens know or believe in bee propolis therapeutic properties. Even less consume it. An extremely small number of people do understand about bee propolis consumption protocol. I try to populate propolis usage on my channel called Manuka Honey Guru but it seems I;m out of talent top do so. Human body cannot dissolve and absorb anything from raw propolis. If you consume raw propolis regardless of the daily amount it goes to your rectal exit in the same form as it was consumed. Human's body has not enough temperature to process raw propolis. That is why propolis extracts or solutions used. Another problem is understanding about propolis chemicals compound. Propolis collected from different countries, from different latitudes, from different floras carrying absolutely different health supporting properties. people have to understand that and chose propolis been collected from wilderness standing beehives, not those used for farm gardens pollination. For example, a propolis collected from a poplar or from sunflowers is poor in therapeutic purposes. All American propolis solutions manufacturers use Chinese raw material because of the law cost . Do you know how Chinese propolis been collected ?
    I try to educate people about propolis extract usage. Would appreciate for any assistance.

      I am not a medical doctor. I personally would say yes, depending on the condition. For example if you have some inflammation on your mouth, chewing Propolis might help. However, like any other compounds, if used on the wrong time might do damage as well. For example if you are allergic. It is a complicated subject.

    Reading the comments its very helpful to include the country and type of flora when speaking of anecdotal cures, these discoveries are scientifically relevant and most important even if it is not profitable for pharma to conduct expensive trials to legitimise any evidence or otherwise debunk snake oil type claims.
    The proof is in the pudding.

    • @InsideTheHiveTV
      @InsideTheHiveTV  2 роки тому

      The big problem with propolis is the lack of standardization. Where I come from most os it are green propolis coming almost exclusively from Baccharis dracunculifolia which give me some comfort about knowing what I am getting. I worked in big pharma before and I can guaranty you no trials are coming from them in this regard. It is not profitable because it can not be protected with patents, not because propolis has no effect. There are tons of indirect evidence showing the benefits of propolis. I personally don't trust anything in the market for sore throat that can be comparable to the effect I get from good green propolis sprays or pure green propolis extracts.
