    Great job Martin…I’m loving learning from you and Bryson then try and modify what you young studs do for a 65 year old new golfer with new knees! This is all about finding my new norm using safety, fun, and learning in that order! Good stuff!

    Yes you have motivated me. I’m 55 at the gym. My legs hurt like hell. But my first two competitive rounds I’ve hit shots distance wise I haven’t hit since my early 20’s. I want 110mph driver speed. I’m at 104 now from 96 mph in February. I also hit more aggressive shots. Golf is now fun again.

    I workout 3x per week, but in-season more on mobility and cardio, because strength training comes with a short-term cost: muscle aches and loss of touch in golf. I retested my speed yesterday and the performance decay was actually less than I expected mid season. I plan to focus again on strength and speed at the end of October/November till februari probably, when pre-season prep starts.

    Good content! I would like to challenge something a little bit. The explosion is great you need that. I have set up a training for myself from what I know as a football coach (soccer for you americans) and we also need endurance to make high explosive runs when needed for 90 mins or more. One thing I do and I have been seeing speed gaining is low weight high reps that is for endurance but in that making sure everytime is explosive. This would reference back to another video where you talked about trying to not tire out near end of long drive. you can do these then tail in the speed training right after. when you are tired this will make you body work harder but don't over do it.
    Also if you do heavy you work different muscles and need to work fast twitch muscles that makes speed. So go heavy like you said for 5 reps and directly after that go light for 8 reps using explosion to get your fast twitch muscles working this creates speed from fast twitch muscles working faster because of less weight. I hope you understand this.
    I am no where as fast as you just using my knowledge of the body and training players to be explosive through football and applying that to golf. Lean muscle is faster then big muscle, but big muscle is more powerful then lean and I believe you can have both to create the perfect storm. which is what I am working on developing for my golf swing.
    again thanks for your ideas and love watching you play the course and hit the ball all over the course like normal people! LET"S GO!!!

  • @kevinkohler7997
    @kevinkohler7997 4 місяці тому

    Strange observation. If i haven't been able to hit golf balls for few weeks or even months, the next day after practice i will assess which muscles are the most sore presumably previously worked the most. Typically it's Hamstrings\Glutes possibly from sgl leg lunge \squat to tee\hand rake a ball and next surprisingly are the inner thigh or Adductors from pelvis rotation.
