With a few more stages and characters, this could have rivalled its SNES counterpart. I appreciate that they reworked the stages, and I might just like the Genesis sound better, but there's just not enough content to compete.
There were exceptions, but this seemed par for the course for Konami at the time. The SNES versions tended to have more effort put in to them or more ROM space afforded to them. In this case the SNES version had an 8Mbit ROM while the Sega version was only given 4. A 4Mb cart in late '92/early '93 was absolutely pitiful.

Bloodlines could be argued as the best genesis Game while castlevania 4 is imo, not even in the top 5 or 6 castlevania games

actually , i'd pick this one over the others ( i know it's missing alot ) mainly for the graphics ( coz they remind me of golden axe 2) & the music , you just cant go wrong with that genesis sound chip

haha today i play red dead redemption 2... amazing what a large advance in gaming i can experience. im only 27, but we were poor so i have played sega in 2006 when others got playstation and shit :D i feel blessed, this games were much better for kids.

While both the Mega Drive and SNES versions sound amazing (Both are considerably close to the arcade), it's clear the SNES version is better, but that's because Konami cheaped out on this cartridge with only a 4 Megabit cartridge. Imagine if it was made later in the Mega Drive lifecycle, where carts up to 32 Megabits were available.

Despite lacking 2 characters and some bosses, SEGA MD version IS SUPERIOR to the snes version. Sega MD version has: + better graphics (better graphics of nature, characters, animals (bulls and horses). + women in taverns look like from an adult version (less clothes) + you can ride A HORSE + you can shoot while standing + much better sound (clear) Snes version has more characters, yes. But snes graphics are INFERIOR, processor of SNES is SLOW, sound of snes is like a mumbling in a jug (not clear), too much censorship, can't ride a horse, animals look like a cartoon.

Sinceramente y sin ánimos de ponerme de fangirl este juego lo sentí feo, los colores todo oscuro, el sonido en especial las "voces" simplemente son terribles. Definitivamente me quedo con el de super Nintendo.

I played this in around 2002 with my father. He always did choose cormano becase he thought have a better gun. What a memory.

Damn, this was a bad port. Genesis seems to get short end of stick when it comes to ports.
The snes version is much easier plus it's slow and censored.
I don’t think this port is that bad the missing characters and such had to do with the small ROM size than anything else
