Favorite arcade game ever. Any time I walked into an arcade, I had to look for this game but it was hard to find. Could only find one down the Jersey shore. Great memories.
This takes me back to when I was 7 or 8 and my parents were in a bowling league. Me and my brother didn't really care about bowling but the bowling alley had an arcade with The Adams Family Pinball and Sunset Riders. We used to play it all of the time but we never got past the second boss. Only after our cousin got it on the SNES did we find out how much of the game we never saw.
Simon Greedwell is obviously the breakout star of this game, but Sir Richard Rose is underrated as a final boss. He's really hard to hit in his final form and when you finally kill him all he says is "I SAY, A BIT OF BAD LUCK"
You have to be a badass to leave out family, politics, religion, friends, or any loved ones. Last words? “Bury me with my my money.” One line showed how little he cared for others… cold and memorable.

I had first played this by means of MAME back in 2006 as Cormano, and as of this day, he's still my favorite out of the characters you are in Sunset Riders. For years I'd been yearning to see the arcade game in person. My dreams came true when I learned the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY got a Sunset Riders machine in their eGameRevolution (which talks about the history of video games and has all sorts of arcade games, home gaming consoles, and that sort of thing) sometime in August 2018. When I went there in October 2018, surely I was right - there was a Sunset Riders machine in the exhibit, but being the fourth player (being Cormano in my case) is a pain in the ass. Hawkeye Hatfield Hank (Stage 2 boss) was too hard for me to defeat, even when I save the tokens from the Strong Museum so I don't have to waste dollar bills on tokens for the arcade/pinball games, mostly because there are kids of all ages there (including babies and toddlers), and the slightest disruption from a kid crying can cause me to lose concentration, and I have a short fuse due to my autism and bipolar, thus if I was to be bested by Hawkeye Hatfield Hank in Sunset Riders, I just let the game end and walk away from the cacophony of a crying kid. When the coronavirus pandemic caused the Strong Museum to close and whatnot, I was trying to keep my spirits up despite the hard times that have hit us lately. In times of despair, I thank Hamster/Konami for releasing Sunset Riders on Arcade Archives to play on my Switch so I can play it when I'm on the go or in the comfort of my own home :-D
Wow...I remember this game fondly! I could never beat the horseback riding level...one hit kill and it frustrates me to no end I couldn’t make it and only was allowed 2 quarters.
