Superb video, beautiful shots and such detailed info, really enjoyed that and think I’m gonna pull the trigger on this watch, I really like it a lot.
I own it and it really punches above it's weight at the price point.
It needs to be handled in person to appreciate how well done the watch is.
What's nice is the subdued grey dial and sub-dials. The chrono counters are always in the background and not jarring, allowing the watch to function like a pseudo 3-hands when not using the chronograph functions.
thank you for your input, I WANT ONE!!!
How’s the scratches and stuff?
@@miscool Unless you're really rough on your watches, I think they should hold up pretty ok
I haven't scratched mine so far. The glass is sapphire glass and the pvd coating has been holding up well so far
Definitely adding to my collection.
@@miscool - just be aware of it when you’re walking close to brick walls on your left / watch-wearing side and you’ll be OK. It’s also supposed to be a fairly scratch-resistant thing although you’d be best not to tempt fate to any degree 👍
I didn't already have one of the other color speedtimers, I'd be all over this model! Love the black/gray/green color combo!!!!! 3:30 Seiko's got a winner with this one
I hope Seiko can bring this new lume application to their non-PVD 39mm Speedtimer lineup
In person the subtle olive of the dial against the matte black of the casing really, really pops in spite of that subtlety. I forked out for it on the spot, even though I’d normally consider a solar quartz watch a ‘novelty’ more than a serious artisanal timepiece. Love it if they could do something like this in automatic but at least with quartz you get the pro of its accuracy.
Gorgeous
seiko solar black chain is so cool
Great Watch. Very unique 👍
Right
what is the difference between this and the SSC917?
Same watch, Jap market reference is the one in the vid.
Is this lumibrite pro or normal lumibrite?
It used the solar sunlight to charged?
Yes
Love it, but I fear it’d get scratched too easily and you can’t polish the scratches out like I can on my stainless bracelets.
True but this watch would look great on a black NATO. Just like a 'real' speedy

That’s my only concern as well. Was about to buy the Panda - SSC813 when they have this too on display. It looks good on the wrist!!! Kind a like a semi-formal / dress watch. And that Tiffany-colored lume matches well.!!!Tried on the Panda as well, looks good.. but on the sporty side. I asked the store assistant which she likes best, she mentioned the black one but I need to be careful since once it is scratched.. there’s no going back anymore. So she said, I have to put that into consideration as well.
The lightgreen details annoys me...
your music is drowning your voice
